Sallies and Central both lost big in the first round last season. One of these teams will break that streak this season. The last time these two teams met in the playoffs Was in 2009 and sallies lost 9-1 in the semis to central.
Sallies beat central early in 2015 5-4 by scoring 2 in the 7th. Central had a little trouble putting up consistent wins. Aside from starting 3-0, Central never won more than 2 straight games all season. They finished the season in an inconsistent way losing big 9-1 to St Marks and then putting up 20 on Laurel sallies on the other hand finished with 11 straight wins. Their only losses were close ones to st marks, caravel and Appo.
Sallies was 6-3 against this years playoff teams while Central was 2-6.
Central has given up over 4 runs per game. They are led by Ingrassia, Mears and grove. Sallies has given up only 2 runs per game. Hinton (5-3) is their ace but robino (5-0) has pitched well with o'neill out of the pen.
At the plate sallies came along slow but bats picked up and they averaged 6 runs per game. Central did a little better by looking at their average of nearly 7 runs per game but that is a little misleading given they scored 66 runs in 4 easy games.
