Delmarva Christian Royals Varsity fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 9-6 loss to Parkside on Saturday.

Despite the loss, Delmarva Christian Royals Varsity did collect 13 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Parkside had 12 hits on the way to victory.

Andrew Workman toed the rubber for Delmarva Christian Royals Varsity. He went four innings, allowing seven runs on 11 hits and striking out three. Brandon Schlabach threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Delmarva Christian Royals Varsity had 13 hits in the game. Ben Hobbs, Schlabach, Joseph Jones, Connor Lewis, and Chase Hesson all collected multiple hits for Delmarva Christian Royals Varsity.

Zach Gelof and Austin Elliott combined for 4 RBI on 2 HR for Cape as they defeated Sussex Tech by a 6-1 score. Tech's Brady Parks pitched well for the Ravens, allowing 3 earned runs on 4 hits with 7k

Tommy Pomatto and Kyle Maier combined for 7 scoreless innings to pace the Riders to a 10-0 win, on the mound. Pomatto threw 5 no hit innings striking out 10. The Rider offensive attack was led by Sam Ervin's 2 run homerun which led to a 6 run 5th inning. Austin Russell was 2 for 3 at the plate and scored twice. Chad Reichold pitched solid on the mound for the Buccaneers with 10 strikeouts and 2 hits allowed.

Austin Elliott threw a 5 inning no-hitter with 10 k's to lead the Vikings to a 10-0 win over Laurel. Zach Dale was 2 for 2 with a triple and a pair of RBI's and Zach Savage drove in 3 runs on the day. Zack Gelof added a pair of hits, 3 stolen bases and 3 runs scored.

Delmar's Hunter VonArx knocked in Dylan Pasta to give the Wildcats an early 1-0 lead in the 1st. Smyrna's Andrew Unterreiner and Bredan Davis hit back to back doubles in the 2nd. Davis knocked in Unerreiner, and then scored on a single by Nevin Bell. Bell wasn't done at the plate as he knocked in 2 additional runs in the 4th. Delmar answered with 3 runs in the 5th on base hits from Jacob VonArx, Dylan Pasta, and Luke Waters. Smyrna won 5-4
Hunter Barr pitched well in 2.1 innings of relief of starter, E. Jeremy Carrow to pick up the win. Barr left a Wildcat stranded on 3b to end the 7th. After a one out single by Drew Whitlock and a sac bunt by Nate Ridgeway, pinch hitter, Logan Strickland singled up the middle to score Whitlock for the walk off win.
Nevin Bell was 2-3 with 3 RBI's, Drew Whitlock was 2-3, and Unerreiner scored twice.
Dylan Pasta was 2-3 with 2 runs scored for the Cats. Both Haddaway and Richardson pitched well for Delmar, striking out 8 total Eagles.

Dover edged out Lake Forest in a very intense, hard fought 4-3 10 inning game. For Dover, Hiram Davis and Sam Courtney had two hits each while Chris Dabney had a clutch pinch hit 2 rbi single. The Spartans were led by Dalton Holemo’s 2 hits and game tying rbi in the 7th and a strong pitching performance by Cameron Beulah.

Despite trailing 4-0 in the second inning the Indians rallied to score 6 runs in the 4th behind key hits from JJ Killen, Brock Wingate, Cole Hitch and Tyler Kramer as the Indians of Indian River defeated the Panthers of Polytech by a 8-4 score. Sophmore Aaron King was the winning pitcher after throwing 3.1 innings and allowing only 2 hits. Buckson, Gros, Rebuck, Whitaker, and Harris tallied a hit for Polytech.

Central's Ethan Watkinson hit a 3 run HR in the top of the first to lead off the scoring. In the top of the 6th, Trevor Collins cleard the bases with a 3 run double for the Knights. Tech answered in the bottom of the 6th, scoring 4 runs on 3 hits, including a 2RBI double by Brayden Graham. As the Golden Knights won by a 7-4 score.
Central's Trever Collons pitched great for the Knights, allowing only 1 hit and 9K's over his 4 innings of work.

Tyler DeFord scattered 4 ER and 6 hits over 5 innings of work to earn the 16-5 win for Woodbridge. Dylan Layton went 2-2 with a double, homerun, and 4 RBI, Brock Keeler went 3-4 with a 3 run homerun, and Hunter Slater went 3-3 with 4 runs scored to spark the Blue Raiders offense. Christian Chandler went 3-3 with a double and 3 RBI for the Seaford Blue Jays.

Brian Gilardi was 4 for 4 with 3 runs scored. Eric Ludman added 2 hits with 3 RBIs to pace the St. Marks Spartans to a 9-3 win over Delaware Military Academy. Jon Golebiowski had a homerun for DMA.

St. Andrew's offense was led by Evan Murray with a single, double, triple and 5 RBIs as they defeated Sanford 9-8. Sanford's Jack Valentine had a single, double and triple driving in four runs.

Taormina, Micheletti, and Hanson had two hits apiece.for the Quakers of Friends as they defeated the Hornets of Tatnall 14-0.
Mullen and Wyatt combined for the five-inning shutout. Chang and Prescott tallied a hit apiece for Tatnall.

Will Hart got the Win with a strong start for the Silver Eagles who won by an 8-0 score added a double with an RBI at the plate. Shawn Haut had a Home Run and a double with 2 RBIs. Ryan Speed and Dan Brown also had doubles for Hodgson. Miller and Esposito had hits for Wilmington Charter.

Justin Brooks scattered four hits over four innings with six strikeouts for the 13-3 win over St. Elizabeth. Nathan Thomas and Christian Strickland had two hits each for St. Elizabeth.

Bulldogs Freshman Justin Ford went 3 for 3 at the plate with 4 rbi's. Josh Nieman got the win. for Brandywine as they defeated DAPSS 16-0

Cole Dunn gave up an unearned run in 5 innings of work, striking out 7 for Middletown as they defeated Delaware Military Academy by a 8-1 score. Alexander Weber paced the Cavs offense with a 3-4 5 RBI day at the plate including a 3 run HR.

In the 2018 season opener the St. Georges Hawks defeated the Mount Pleasant Green Knights 13-5. Troy Atkins, Joey Bailey, Joey Rinarelli, and Ronnie Cole all drove in two runs each. Christian Green homered for the Green knights.

Anthony Mallamaci and Collin Jensen led the Auk offense with 2 hits a piece as they defeated the Raiders of Concord 5-4. Jensen drove in 3 runs with 2 triples. Will Rhodunda was 2-3 with 3 RBI's for Concord.

Joey Davis allowed 1 earned run while striking out 4 in 5 innings pitched to earn the 10-6 win for Appoquinimink. Javon Fields had 3 hits and 3 runs scored to lead the Appo offense. Jarrett Weglarz had a triple and 3 RBI and Mason Keene had 2 hits, including a triple. Christopher Saxton had a hit and 2 RBI for Conrad.

The Delmarva Christian Royals jumped out to an early lead, scoring 6 runs in the first inning as they defeated the Ravens of St. Thomas More by a 19-0 win. Andrew Workman, Joseph Jones, Wes Hobbs, Ben Hobbs and Trey Henry each had multiple hits in the game.

Joey Silan earned the win on the mound for Caravel with 7 strike outs as they defeated the Patriots of Newark Charter by a 12-8 score. Ethan DeRegis had 2 hits and 4 rbi and Jakob Hoffman had 2 hits and 3 rbi. Aaron Holiday and Brad Kaden also had 2 hits each. Newark Charter's Brett Callahan had 4 hits, 3 runs scored and a rbi. David Hawtof knocked in 3 runs.

Nate Sneller and Jack Faust scored in the top of the 8th innings and Sussex Academy held on to win a 10-9 back and forth game over McKean in the season opener for both schools. Nate Sneller picked up the win in Sussex Academy's first ever varsity game. Ryan Bishop (3 RBI) and Zach Zalewski hit key doubles for the Seahawks. The Highlander offense was led by Steven Drozdowski (3 RBI) and Henry Fear went 2 for 4.

In the first inning, Glasgow got their offense started when Grinnell singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run and defeated the Rams of Dickinson 15-5 .

The Dragons notched nine runs in the second inning. Lozada, Grinnell, Bacon, Joseph, Thomas, and Smith each had RBIs in the frame.

Lozada earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Glasgow. He allowed six hits and four runs over two innings, striking out four. Andre Claudio threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Claudio recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for the Dragons.

Tennet took the loss for Dickinson. He lasted two innings, allowing seven hits and 11 runs while striking out four.

Glasgow racked up 11 hits. Lozada and Grinnell led the way for the Dragons, each collecting 3 hits on the day.

Garcia led Dickinson with two hits in four at bats.

CR had 13 hits on the day in this Conference win. Jackson Rall and Brandon Hatch each had 3 hits. Rall also had 3 RBI. Kyle Comegys homered in the 5th inning and drove in 4 runs on the day as they defeated the Laurel Bulldogs by a 17-2 score. Matt Atkinson threw 4 innings allowing 1 run with 6 strikeouts. Trace Hutchins was 2 for 3 and Conor Ellingsworth doubled for the Bulldogs.

Zack Gelof threw 6 innings of no-hit baseball striking out 8 while exploding at the plate going 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, 3 RBI's, and 3 runs scored to pace the Cape Henlopen Vikings to a 9-0 win over the Lake Forest Spartans. Austin Elliott added a double and home run driving in a pair of runs and Zach Savage drove in a pair of runs with a double as well.

Linden Carey threw 5+ strong innings in relief, striking out 9 with no walks and the Wildcats took advantage of opportunities to pick up the early season 6-0 win over Polytech.

IR's Robert Argo had game winning 3 RBI double in the top of the 8th to give IR the conference 4-1 win over Dover. Mitchell McGee pitched into 7th and Chase Hall picked up the win in relief. Dover's Alec Rodriguez had RBI triple in the bottom of the 7th to tie the score for Dover. Andrew Carney pitched 5 2/3 with 5 strikeouts for the Senators.

Brock Hilligoss earned the 8-7 victory for Milford scattering one earned run over 5 innings of work. Jaxson Turned led the Bucs at the plate going 2-4 with 2 RBI. Milford held off a 7th inning Woodbridge rally sparked by a 2-out, 2 RBI double by Bret Balascio. Hunter Slater went 2-3 with an RBI for Woodbridge, and Tyler DeFord went 2-4 with an RBI double.

Matt Phillips and Brian Gilardi combined for 4 hit 3-2 victory over rival St. Elizabeth. Seth Bialecki and Shane Lougheed each had 2 hits for the Spartans. Jaden Dickerson had a 2 run homerun for the Vikings.

Jake Walls went 4 2/3 innings striking out 8 to get the win on the mound for the Cavs. The Middletown offense was led by Alexander Weber going 3-3 with 1 RBI, Devin McClendon contributed going 2-4 with 1 RBI, and Justin Netsch went 2-3 with a solo HR. Dylan Niblett went 2-3 to lead Seaford in hits.

Wyatt Nelson pitched a complete-game shut-out surrendering only one hit to pace the Quakers of Wilmington Friends to a 6-0 win over Sanford. Eddie Micheletti got a double and triple while Sam Gise went 3-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Alexander Pingitore was 3-3 with 5 RBI and a run scored to lead PolyTech offensively in their 17-4 trouncing of Smyrna. Evan Harris was 2-2 with 3 runs scored. Chase Rebuck and Thomas Mitchell were both 2-3 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored, respectively. Harris pitched 4 strong innings while striking out 6 Eagles and allowing 1 ER. Louis Whitaker closed out the game for the Panthers.
Mason Drummond was 2-2 with a 2b, and Nate Ridgeway was 1-2 with a double for the Eagles.

Brennan Miller drove in 2 go ahead runs in the 6th as Conrad racked up 12 hits to rally from behind for the 11-5 win. Marshall Awtry pitched 2 innings of no hit no run baseball with six strike outs close the game and earned the win. Wilmington Charter's big inning was driven by a single by Daniel Kennan and by Spencer Goff. Kyle Walker, Chris Saxton and Jack Sisofo each had multiple hits for Conrad.

The Hodgson Silvereagles got the win 10-0 over Delcastle. Ryan Speed led the offense going 3-3 with a double. Shawn Haut had two hits. Speed, Haut and Matt Willard all had multiple RBI's for Hodgson. Connor Megginson started on the bump for the SilverEagles and got the win with solid relief from the Hodgson bullpen. Sensabaugh had two hits for Delcastle.

Glasgow Claims Victory Over McKean, 13-2

The Glasgow Dragons tallied four runs in the seventh inning. The Glasgow offense in the inning was led by Anthony Lozada, Reginald Grinnell, and Daryn Bacon, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Grinnell got the win for the Dragons. He went five and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out 12. Dante Claudio threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Brandon Ferrara took the loss for the McKean Highlanders. He allowed three hits and six runs over four innings, striking out seven.

Lozada went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Glasgow in hits, to go along with his 3 RBI's. Daryn Bacon also contributed 3 RBI's to the effort. The Dragons didn't commit a single error in the field. Dominic Joseph had 13 chances in the field, the most on the team.

Luke Wootten strikes out 8 and gives up 2 hits over 5.2 innings of work on the mound, David Keane entered in the 6th to record the save for Middletown as they defeated the Raiders of Concord by a 3-0 score. Nicholas Welch went 5 innings and gave up 1 earned run for Concord.

Robert Shorts led the Hawk's offense with three hits and an RBI, Joey Jourdan had two hits and an RBI, and Joey Bailey contributed 2 RBIs to pace St. Georges to a 6-4 win over William Penn. Winning pitcher Noah Finochhiaro earned his first varsity win at 1-0 pitching six innings: scattering 5 hits and striking out 6. CJ Wilkerson pitched well for the Colonials over 5 innings and Dominic Fernicola keep the Colonials in the game in the top of the seventh with a three run home run.

David Willis hit a grand slam in the 1st inning and Nate Hardcastle added 2 more HR's to lead Red Lion over Newark Charter 9-6 in a conference game. Xander Emberger winning pitcher at 2-0 came on in relief in the 3rd inning to pick up the win.


Matt Rodriguez worked 4 innings of no hit ball for the Delmar 10-0 win over the Indians.

Seaford took the lead early on 7 runs in the first 3 innings. But, Delmarva Christian responded took the lead for good in the bottom of the 5th inning. Scoring 3 and 5 in the 3rd and 5th innings respectively and won 9-8 over Seaford. Riley Culver homered and Ben Hobbs, Andrew Workman, Chase Hesson, and Michael Briggs had multiple hits for the Royals. Z Adams, and I. Lake collected multiple hits for Seaford.

William Penn broke a 5-5 tie in the top of the 7th, scoring 2 runs on a wild pitch and an error. The Ravens were able to pull within one run in the bottom of the 7th on a one out RBI single by Grant Lamars. After a strike out for out number 2, freshman Jason Shockley stepped to the plate and singled to right/center, scoring 2 runs for the walk off win Sussex Tech 8-7 win.

Jordan Hadaway and Chris Richardson combined to scatter 4 hits, and Hunter VonArx' 3-run homer highlighted the bi-state Wildcat 13-2 win over Mardela.

Hodgson jumped out to a big early lead but CR chipped away and tied up the game in the bottom of the 6th inning and defeated Caesar Rodney 12-11. The Silver Eagles were able to push one run across in the top of the 9th with 2 outs on a single by Ryan Speed that scored CJ Deery. Speed had 3 hits for Hodgson and Matt Willard picked up the Win in relief. Donnie Weaver had an HR for Hodgson. Sam Ervin had 4 hits including (2) doubles for CR. Pamatto and Rall had 3 hits a piece for CR.

St. Georges scored the winning run on a squeeze in the top of the ninth and defeated the Panthers of Polytech 7-6. Nathan Mcvey was 3-4 with a double and a triple and also earned the win on the mound for St. Georges. Robert Shorts also added three hits for Saint Georges.

Hodgson won 16-2 in a game that started on a Thursday at Hodgson, was suspended due to rain, then was continued the following Tuesday at Milford to escape the stellar weather upstate in Delaware. Will Hart picked up his second win on the mound. Jared Owens hit a grand slam, Shawn Haut had 2 hits. Kyle Riley hit a 3 run bomb at Milford. Byrce Greenly had 2 hits for Milford.

Joey Davis struck out 9 over 6 shut out innings to earn the 5-0 win for Appoquinimink. Mason Keene had 2 hits and Tre' Selby had a 2 RBI single to lead the Jaguar offense. Gene Matthews had 5 strike outs for Newark Charter.

Dan Kennan earned the win striking out 6 batters. Kennan also led Charter's offense with 3 hits and scoring 2 runs as they defeated Sanford 9-5. Spencer Goff and Alex Zhu had 2 hits for Charter. Ethan Citro and Isiah Bracey had 2 hits for Sanford.

Braedon Scherer pitched six innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out 11 and walking one. Tyler Reinert threw one inning in relief for Conrad as they won over Glasgow 8-0. Kyle Walker. Ty Reinert and Max Awtry each had multiple hits for Conrad. Reginald Grinnel went 1-for-3 at the plate for Glasgow.

The Concord Raiders defeated St. E's 5-3 in the first of two away games on the day. The Raiders pitching staff limited the Vikings to 2-hits. Johhny Ford got the win and struck out 6 batters for Concord. Brian Downey picked up the save by throwing the last 2 2/3 innings and striking out 4 batters. The Raider offense was led by Mark Cruser and Johnny Ford who both had two hits. Cade Pfander had a two run single in the 5th inning. Jason Mock doubled for the Vikings.

Concord won the second road game of the day by scoring 7-runs in the top of the seventh inning at Wilmington Friends. Concord was down 10-2 after the third inning. After six complete innings, Concord was trailing 11-6. Steve Cornog came in to close the game for Cocnord and hold on to a 13-11 victory. Concord received great relief appearances by Will
Rhodunda and Steven Cornog. The Raider offense was led by Steve Cornog, Johnny Ford, and Bobby Rhodunda who all had two hits. Wilmington Friends was led by Wyatt Nelson and Steven Butterfield who both had two hits.

In a non-conference contest several Hawks had multiple hits: Shorts, Atkins, Bailey, Finocchiaro, Rinarelli, and Arterbridge as they defeated the Bucs of Milford 16-4. One of Joey Rinarelli's hits was a solo homer. Jaxson Turner had two hits and Chad Reichold pitched four innings of competitive baseball for Milford.

Wyatt Nelson pitched four-and-a-third scoreless innings striking out six to earn the Quakers 8-1 win. Cole Opderbeck and Jack Taylor each recorded one double apiece, and Taylor led the team with two RBI. Hughes, Margolin, and Anderson tallied hits for the Hillers.

Jack Valentine and Matthew Friedkin combined to pitch a no-hitter for Sanford as they defeated Tatnall 13-2. Jack Valentine added a 3-run home run, a single and 5 RBI at the plate. Ethan Citro was 3 for 4 and scored 3 runs for Sanford.

Dover's Dominic Velazquez, Cole Edwards and Matt Bieker combined to pitch 5 scoreless innings to help Dover defeat the Charter School of Wilmington 13-0. Hiram Davis, Noah Lanouette, Mike Carrington, Chris Dabney and Andrew Carney had multiple hits for the Senators offense. Ryan Miller had a base hit for the Force.

JT Tomovich hit a 2 run triple and the Spartans scored 4 runs in the 3rd inning and defeated the Jaguars of Appoquinimink by a 4-1 score. Jack Dubecq pitched 5 2/3 strong innings allowing only 3 hits and 1 run. Jarrett Weglarz contributed 2 hits for Jaguars.

A hard fought, close game on a cold windy day at Wilson Field ended with Donnie Weaver knocking in the winning run, scoring CJ Deery in the bottom of the 7th to win it 5-4 for the Silver Eagles. CJ Deery picked up the win for Hodgson. Brett Brooks and Christian Strickland had two hits a piece for the Vikings with Strickland hammering 2 doubles and adding three RBIs

: DMA-Dominic Petrucci lead the Seahawks with 3 hits and 4 rbis. Michael Fedorkowicz had 2 hits and Zach McCloskey drove in two runs as they defeated the Yellowjackets of Newark by an 8-5 score. Matt Kohan had 8 ks on the mound. NHS-Nick Zenga had 9 ks on the mound. Joseph Visalli and Nicolas Sharpe both had two hits for the Yellowjackets.

Derek Pusey, 3-4, and Sam Hardcastle, 2-3,led Red Lion’s offensive attack. Nate Hardcastle and Xander Emberger combined to strike out 11 and hold Woodbridge to 2 hits as the Lions won by a 7-2 score. Regan Ogden and Tyler Yoder hit doubles for Woodbridge.

David Erickson threw 5 innings allowing 1 earned run and striking out 8 as Cape Henlopen defeated Middletown by a 4-2 score. Zach Dale and Zack Gelof each were 2 for 3 with doubles while Gelof scored 2 runs and had an RBI. Austin Elliott added a solo homerun and Luke Johnson added a double and run scored to help the Vikings get the win. Eric Schwar was 1 for 3 with a double and a run scored for Middletown.

:Hank Wilkerson went 3 for 3 with 1 run and 1 rbi.
Mark Kelly and Matt Hammond each had 2 hits for William Penn as they defeated Glasgow by a 13-3 score.
Dominic Joseph went 2 for 3 for Glasgow.

Brandon Hatch threw 6 1/3 innings of scoreless, 2 hit ball with 7 strikeouts. Offensively Parker Garrison led the Riders with 3 hits. Jackson Rall had 2 hits and 2 RBI as they defeated Seaford 7-0. Trevor Holmes had 5 strikeouts on the mound for the Blue Jays.

Chad Reichold hit a go-ahead grand slam in the top of the 7th inning to give Milford the 3 run lead. The Vikings responded in the bottom of the 7th with a 3-run game tieing homerun by Zach Dale, followed by a walk-off homerun by Zach Savage as Cape defeated Milford 8-7

Sussex Central got out to a six-run lead in the fourth inning and held on for a 7-6 victory over Delmar on Friday. Delmar scored five runs in the top of the seventh after a few walks and a 3 run homerun by Jordan Haddaway.
Trevor Collins was very solid on the mound for the Knights allowing just 3 hits and one run while striking out 9 Wildcats in 6 innings of work. Collins also hit a 2 run homerun in the 4th inning to stretch the lead to 6. SC racked up eight hits on the day. Ethan Watkinson and Blaine Hansen each had multiple hits and Robbie Hollenbeck added a triple for the Knights.

Dover jumped out to an early lead putting up 3 in the top of the first behind the 2 RBI double by Rodriguez. Led by the pitching of Vance Joseph and Trace Hitchens, Laurel capitalized on a few opportunities in the middle innings to keep themselves in the game. Carrow also lead the Eagles offensively, going 2-3 with 3 RBI's, a walk, and a run scored to pace Smyrna to a 9-2 win over Indian River. Nevin Bell added 2 hits and 2 runs scored for Smyrna while Nate Ridgeway and Drew Whitlock both scored twice, respectively.
Tyler Kramer was 1-2 for Indian River. Chase Hall added an RBI double and was also 1-2 for the Indians.

Ryan Campbell earned the win for Salesianum as he struck out 10 while allowing 1 hit over 4 shutout innings as they defeated Mount St. Michaels Academy of NY by an 11-0 score. Dom Ragazzo and Josh Maguire each had multiple hits for Salesianum. Santos went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Mount St. Michael in hits.

Mount was lead offensively by Justin Jump going 4 for 5 with 2 doubles, a triple, and 4 runs scored to pace Mt. Pleasant to a 20-2 win over the Hornets of Tatnall. Stefan Haroldsson also had 4 hits with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored. Tatnall’s Carl Marvin was strong at the plate with 3 hits and a run scored.

Ricky Gannett picked up the win giving up 1 run over 5 innings to pace St. Marks to a 5-1 win over the Indians of Indian River. Dom Catalano had a 2 run double in the 1st inning. Brian Gilardi and JT Tomovich each added 2 hits. Grant Argo had 2 hits for Indian River.

Nicolas Hertzfeld lead the Seahawks with 5 hits and 3 rbis to pace DMA to a 17-3 win over the Auks of Archmere. Colin Smith and Dominic Petrucci both had 3 hits. Jonathan Golebiowski had a triple and a home run. Kevin Williams picked up the win with 4 ks. AA- Jack Nielsen had 2 hits for the Auks.

Jakob Hoffman scored the go ahead run in the bottom of the 5th to put Caravel up for good 4-1 over Episcopal Academy. Aaron Holiday pitched a strong 4 and 1/3 innings before Joey Silan came in relief. Silan allowed 0 hits, 0 walks and had 6 strikeouts. Holiday, Hoffman, and Kevin Keister each had rbi's for the bucs. Will Park had 2 hits for Episcopal Academy.

Dustin Tenney threw five and two thirds innings of stellar baseball to earn the 5-3 win over McKean to even his record at 1-1. Kaelen Gomes scored two runs and recorded the save. Derek Scott and Mike Piccio knocked in a run a piece.

Eugene Holler picked up the win throwing 6 shutout innings allowing 1 hit while striking out 6 as Salesianum defeated Holy Cross 7-0. Offensively for Salesianum, Zach Gwynn was 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI. For Holy Cross, Palmer had the lone hit.

Baseball


Sussex Tech's Matt Warrington pitched great for the Ravens, allowing just one hit while striking out 11 of his 19 total batters faced as they defeated the Blue Raiders of Woodbridge by an 8-0 score. Warrington also produced at the plate, going 3-3 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Tech's Grant Lamers(3-3, 2R, 2RBI, SAC) and Jason Shockley(2-3, 1RBI) also had a great day at the plate for the Ravens. Woodbridge's Gabe Wescott led the game off with a double for the Raiders.



Trey Matthews and Sean Kelby pitched Newark Charter to a 2-1 win recording a combined 17k's. Matthews 9 k's in 4 innings and Kelby 8k's in 3 innings.Logan Vivian had the 2 rbi's for Newark Charter. Zach Gwynn had a solo homer for sallies while Joe Sheets pitched 6 innings only allowing 2 runs on 5 hits.

Dalton Ramsey broke open a 2-2 tie in the fifth with a sacrifice fly. Friends added four in the sixth with a Michael McKenzie triple and Will Davis double, his fourth hit and second double of the day and defeated the Cardinals of St. Andrews by a 7-2 score. Wyatt Nelson pitched a complete game for the win. For St. Andrews, Rick Townsend pitched four and two-thirds inning surrendering three runs on four hits. Baylen Manocha and Ben Horgan tallied hits for the Saints.


CR let go of a 3-1 lead in the 6th despite a strong mound performance by Tommy Pomatto. Tied 4-4 in the 7th, Sam Ervin led off the bottom of the inning with a single and Chris Friend reached on an error. Brandon Hatch laid down a sac bunt to move the runners over. Kyle Maier ended the game with a single to right field for the walk off hit to give the Riders the 5-4 conference victory. Sam Ervin had 3 hits and 2 RBI to lead the Rider offense. Jackson Rall and Austin Russell both collected 2 hits as well. Vonnie Toppin and Ethan Watkinson both collected multipe hits for the Golden Knights.


Zack Gelof and Mason Fluharty combined to throw a 2 hitter with 8 K's. Mason Fluharty also went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI's at the plate. Zach Savage had a 3 run triple and Zach Dale was 2 for 3 with a homerun and 3 RBI's. to pace Cape Henlopen to a 12-3 win over the Eagles of Smyrna. Andrew Unterreiner had 2 hits for Smyrna


Polytech's Mitchell Barter had a game-winning 2-run single in the top of the 7th to give Polytech the 6-4 comeback win over Dover. Barter and Chase Rebuck had multiple hits for the Panthers. Louis Whitaker picked up the win for Polytech in relief. Dover's Dominic Velazquez had 13 strikeouts for the Senators.


Indian River used three pitchers to combine for a 5-0 shutout win against Seaford. Mitch Megee pitched 5 innings allowing only 2 hits and no runs. Grant Argo drove in two runs, while Jacob Anderson stole 2 bases. Nibblett, Bennefield, and Waldridge singled for the Blue Jays.


The Spartans won the annual 11-5 Battle of the Bat with a strong team performance. Jordan Farlow picked up the win on the mound while striking out 3. Cameron Beulah lead the offense with 3 hits while Gabe Martin and Johnny Forrest each had two hits. For Milford, Caden Oplinger had two doubles and Bryce Greenly tripled.


Tower Hill scored 7 runs in the second and held on for the 8-7 victory. Bo Anderson improved to 2-1 on the mound, scattering 8 hits over 5 innings. mike Gilbert picked up the save and had three hits. DMA's Dominic Petrucci had two doubles and two RBI's.


Winning pitcher Michael Pagliei with the game tied in the top of the sixth inning drove in two runs on single to left field to seal 8-5 win. He had 2 hits and 3 rbi's for the day. Calvin Donohue and Gavin Lambert also had two hits. Dickinson's J Javier had two hits for the Rams


Aidan Riley led the game off with a home run for St. Georges and won 8-5, but Cole Dunn battled for Middletown pitching six innings and collecting eight strike outs. Robert Shorts matched Dunn's effort going six innings, striking out seven while adding two hits and an RBI in the Hawks' win. Jacob Walls collected three hits and had two RBIs for Middletown. Nate McVey reached base three times scoring a run and collecting an RBI. Noah Finocchiaro pitched a 1,2,3 bottom of the seventh for the save.


Dominic Fernicola went 2 for 2 with 2 runs. Hank Wilkerson and Ryan Insley each went 2 for 3 to pace William Penn to a 4-1 win over Hodgson.

Newark High earned its first victory of the season by collecting 18 hits and won by a 15-5 score. Nick Zegna, Luke Marcheski, and Nate Simpson all had 3 hit each. Cole Donmoyer collected the win on the mound striking out 6 and scattering 5 hits. James Wade had 3 hits for Delcastle.


Ryan Miller struckout 5 batters in 2 innings on the mound. Dan Kennan and Manny Covington had 2 hits and scored 3 runs. Spencer Goff and Michael Esposito had 2 hits and scored 2 runs to pace Charter to a 15-5 win over MOT Charter. Benjamin Anto had 2 hits for MOT Charter.


Chris Connelly led off the game with a solo home run for First State Military. Derek Pusey struck out 8 of the 9 other batters he faced while Red Lion scored 15 unanswered runs and won by a 15-3 score. Craig McAllister went 3 for 3 with 3 RBIs to lead Red Lion's offense.


Mike Dellose and Tom Alexander combined on the 4 hit shutout. Collin Jensen drove in 3 runs on 2 hits and Dellose chipped in 2 RBI's with a home run. Brady Dalton also had 2 RBI's for the Auks as they won 10-0. Marshall Awtry reached base twice with a single and a walk for Conrad.


Five Mount players had a multi-hit game. Stefan Haroldsson lead Mount going 5 for 5 with 5 RBI and 3 runs scored as they defeated McKean 20-2. McKean’s Brandon Ferrara hit an RBI double.


Krew Bouldin earned the win in relief and had 2 hits, including a double, for Appoquinimink as they won 6-4. Joey Davis had 7 strike outs on the mound, Javon Fields scored 3 runs and Mason Keene had 2 hits and 3 RBI for the Jaguars. Jarrett Weglarz added a 2 RBI double. David Andrews hit a bases loaded triple and Bobby Rhodunda had 2 hits for Concord.


The Royals scored 4 runs in the first two innings and were led by Brandon Schlabach who pitched a complete game as they paced the Royals of Delmarva Christian by a 4-1 score. Andrew Workman, Michael Briggs, and Chase Hesson each had multiple hits for the Royals. Trace Hitchens doubled and scored Laurel's only run of the game off a single by Conor Ellingsworth.


Caravel's offense was led by Vinnie Green's 2 rbi double in the 2nd inning and Ethan DeRegis' 2 run home run in the 3rd. Michael Summerfield also had 2 hits for the Bucs as they defeated the Spartans of St. Marks 10-7. Justin Tomovich and Dominic Catalano each had 3 hits for St. Marks. Eric Ludman added 2 hits and 3 runs scored.


Ryan Bishop threw a near perfect 38 pitch (28 strikes) three inning effort for the Sussex Academy 28-11 win. He struck out 8 batters in the 9 outs he pitched. The only blemish was a third inning walk. Bishop also added two more hits along with Jack Faust, and Nate Sneller. Dylan Mooney had four hits including two doubles, and Jason Xiong went 3-3 with a double, 2 triples, 3 walks and scored 6 runs. Freshman Anthony Oscar, playing his first game after coming off an injury, went 2-3 including a bases loaded triple.St Thomas More was led by Ben Stant and DeMarkus Lee who both collected 3 hits a piece

Concord was led by Brian Downey and Mark Cruser, who both had two hits and 2 RBI's. Will Rhodunda recorded his first win of the season. Tyler McGarvey added a 2-run triple for Concord as they defeated MOT Charter by a 20-6 score Ben Anto, Brody Sapp, and Ryan Bono all had hits for MOT Charter.

Tyler DeFord earned the win on the mound over three innings of work while helping his cause going 2-2 with 3RBI, including a 2RBI triple. Gabe Wescott went 2-3 with 2RBI to pitch in for the Blue Raiders as they defeated First State Military Academy 15-1. First State Military’s Chris Connelly hit two triples.

Brett Brooks had a double and a triple with two RBI's. Jaden Dickerson had two doubles with two RBI's for St. Elizabeth as they defeated the Spartans of St. Marks 10-6. Richard Gannett, Austin Warrington and Brian Gilardi had two hits each for St. Mark's.

Hodgson scored 7 runs in the top of the seventh to break open an up and down game as they won 16-12 over Polytech. Hodgson collected 16 hits including 9 extra base hits in the win. Ryan speed was 3-4 with a grandslam and six rbis to lead Hodgson. Dan Brown also had 3 hits for Hodgson. Matt Willard picked up the win for Hodgson. Thomas Mitchell had 3 hits including an HR for Polytech.

Jonathan Hines pitched 5 1/3 innings of relief to earn the win while recording 8ks. Jonathan Golebiowski hit a grand slam for the Seahawks as they defeated Newark Charter by a 13-9 score. NCS- Brett Callahan hit a grand slam for the Patriots.

The Auk offense was led by Max Gioffre (3-4, 3 RS, 1 RBI), Anthony Mallamaci (3-3, RS, 2 RBIs) and Jason Roux (2-3, RS, 4 RBIs) as they defeated the Yellowjackets of Newark 15-3. Joe Visalli had a double and an RBI for the Jackets.

Mason Keene earned the 7-6 win on the mound for Appoquinimink, and had 3 hits, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Brandon Hoffman and Gabe Dermott had 2 hits each for the Jaguars. Justin Jump pitched a complete game and had 2 hits and 3 RBI for Mount Pleasant.

Luke Wootten went 5 innings for Middletown surrendering 0 earned runs and struck out 5 as they defeated Red Lion Christian by an 11-6 score. . The Cavs offense piled up 13 hits, led by a 3 hit day from both Jake Walls, and Mitchell Jolikko. David WIllis was 2-4 with an RBI triple.

: Delcastle's Jordan Hastings pitched a complete-game, scattering 2 hits while striking out 6 as they defeated Dickinson 4-1. Trailing 1-0 the Cougars loaded the bases in the 6th setting up back-to-back 2-run singles for Cris Ortega and Justin McClain to complete the come-from-behind win. Dickinson's Jetzel Garcia struck out 4.


The Glasgow Dragons defeated St. Thomas More Academy in today's game 20-0, played at Glasgow High School.

Reginald Grinnell induced a groundout from De'Markus Lee to get the last out of the game, as three pitchers teamed up to a throw a no-hitter in the Dragons 20-0 defeat of St. Thomas More Academy this afternoon.

In the first inning, Glasgow got their offense started when Grinnell homered on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

The Dragons scored nine runs in the third inning. Vaughn Park, Jalani Thomas, Dante Claudio, Anthony Lozada, Grinnell, and Daryn Bacon all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Lozada earned the win for Glasgow. He allowed zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out six and walking zero. Park and Grinnell entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Benjamin Stant took the loss for St. Thomas More Academy. He went two and two-thirds innings, allowing 20 runs on 17 hits, striking out three and walking one.

The Dragons racked up 18 hits in the game. Bacon, Grinnell, Dominic Joseph, Andre Claudio, Lozada, and Hakeem Bell all collected multiple hits for Glasgow. Joseph, Grinnell, and Bacon each collected three hits to lead the Dragons. Lozada led Glasgow with two stolen bases, as they collected a total of five stolen bases.

Linden Carey recorded the 2-hit shutout for Delmar as they defeated Woodbridge 10-0.

Milford stood out offensively behind multi-hit performances by Bryce Greenly, Dominic Robles, Brock Hilligoss, and Ashton Jerman. Trace Hitchens, Conor Ellingsworth, and Holden Deihm gave way for the offensive charge for the 11-1 win over Laurel. While Chad Reichold threw 5.0 innings of 1 run, 3 hit baseball.

Johnny Ford pitched a complete game, scattering four hits and striking out 11 batters to lead Concord over MtP 10-3. Ford also added 2 RBI’s. Mark Cruser sparked the Raider offense with 3-hits and three RBI’s. Cade Pfander and Brian Downey both had two RBI’s for Concord. David Andrews added two hits for Concord. Andrew Thompson led MtP with two hits. Carson Fowler struck out six batters through four innings for MtP.

Andrew Workman and Ben Hobbs threw a combined 10 strikeouts, Workman delivered 4 innings of scoreless baseball while Joseph Jones collected 4 RBIs on 3 hits to pace Delmarva Christian to a 13-2 win over McKean. Brandon Ferrara and Kevin Ramos each had multiple hits for McKean.

The Hawks defeated MOT Charter Friday afternoon with Aidan Riley, Robert Shorts, and Noah Finocchiaro leading the offense with multiple hits as they defeated MOT Charter 14-4. Shorts had two doubles and Finochhiaro had a double and triple. Nate McVey and Hunter Heath combined for a two hitter. Sean Beatson hit a grand slam for MOT Charter.


David Erickson pitched a 2 hitter with 12 k's allowing 1 unearned run to get his 3rd win of the season to pace Cape to a 13-1 win over Sussex Central. Cape was led by Zack Gelof at the plate going 3 for 3 with a walk, 3 run homerun and 3 RBI's. Luke Johnson was 2 for 2 with a homerun and 3 RBI's and Jake Gelof and Mason Fluharty each had a pair of hits as well. Hunter Marvel had a hit and scored a run for Sussex Central.

Alex Zhu earned his first win of the season by throwing a complete game 6-0 shutout over Brandywine. Ryan Baker and Eli Cartwright scored 2 runs each. Sam Devard and Alex Zhu had RBI doubles and Dan Kennan added a 2 RBI triple. Calvin Donohue, Michael Pagliei, and John Imburgia had a hit for the Bulldogs.

Dover's Dominic Velazquez was 3 for 4 with 2 RBI triple and homerun to lead the Senators offense to a 9-5 victory over Smyrna. Alec Rodriguez had 3 hits with 2 RBI and Noah Lanouette posted a two run double for Dover. Cole Edwards picked up the win in relief for the Senators. Eric Carrow collected two hits for Smyrna.

CR jumped out to an early 9-0 lead. Sussex Tech answered back scoring 9 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning. The Riders took the lead for good in the 5th inning putting up another 5 runs followed by an 8 run 6th inning. The Rider offense was paced by Jackson Rall and Sam Ervin who both had home runs and 4 RBI a piece as they defeated the Ravens of Sussex Tech 23-15. Austin Russell had 4 hits and 3 RBI. Tommy Pomatto and Kyle Comegys had multiple hits with 2 RBI each. The Ravens Braydan Graham and Grant Lamers both had 3 hits on the day. Two of Lamers hits were home runs. Matthew Warrington also homered for the Ravens.

Baylen Manocha won his 2nd game of the year and Nick Lilley earned his first save as St. Andrews defeated Lake Forest 4-3. Charlie Cahill had 2 singles and 2 RBIs. Lake Forest mounted a threat in the 7th but Lilley got Beulah to fly out and McGray to ground out to end the game.
 
Nathan Thomas was two for two with a double, triple and two runs scored as St. Elizabeth defeated Tower Hill by a 5-4 score. Brett Brooks had an RBI triple for St. Elizabeth. Kyle Motley and Chad Lopes had two hits each for Tower Hill. Justin Brooks picked up his second win on the mound for St. Elizabeth.

Ross Preston allowed 1 hit while striking out 6 to lead Delcastle over DAPSS 15-0. Terron Brooks and Danny Maldonado led the Cougars with a double and triple, respectively. Gavin Moody singled for the Eagles.

Jack Hanson plated two with a double and Matt Taormina had two RBI, one on a double. Sam Gise and Dalton Ramsey each had a multi-hit day. Eddie Micheletti and Jack Taylor also tallied two RBI apiece. For Red Lion, McAllister hit a double and Pusey, Willis, S. Hardcastle, and Philips each tallied a hit for the home team.


DMA- Matthew Kohan pitched 6 2/3 innings for the 8-1 win over Smyrna. Matthew Marandola, Michael Fedorkowicz, and Kevin Williams all had multiple hits for the Seahawks. SHS- Eric Carrow and Nathen Ridgeway both had two hits for the Eagles.


Jarrett Weglarz struck out 5 in 6 innings on the mound, and had 2 hits at the plate for Appoquinimink as they defeated the Vikings of Cape Henlopen 5-4. Javon Fields and Krew Bouldin scored 2 runs each. Lorenzo Carrier hit an RBI double, and struck out 3 consecutive batters in the 7th inning to earn the save. Austin Elliott hit a 2-run home run in the first inning for Cape Henlopen.


Aaron Holiday pitched a 3 hit shutout with 8 strikeouts to earn his first win of the game as Caravel defeated Indian River 8-0. Holiday and Nick Sobocinski had a hit and 2 rbi each. Kevin Keister had 2 hits. Joey Silan had a double and 2 walks. Brad Kaden had a triple and 2 runs scored. Indian River's JJ Killen and Cole Hitch each had a hit and walk.


St. Andrew's took advantage of seven errors in the first two innings to take a 11-0 lead over First State Military Academy. Smith was victim of many miscues and pitched better than the score shows. N. Lilley had a no-hitter going into the fifth inning before FSMA scored.

Tommy Pomatto pitched a complete game with 10 strikeouts and no walks to pace the Riders to another 5-4 conference victory over Dover. Matt Atkinson and Peyton Lavender both doubled for the Riders. Dominic Velazquez and Michael Carrington both had multiple hits for the Senators. Andrew Carney had a homerun and 2 RBI. Velazquez struck out 10 for Dover.



Chad Lopes picked up his first varsity win in relief, scattering 7 hits. Kyle Motley had 4 hits for the Hillers as they defeated the Hornets of Tatnall 11-6. Tatnall's Brody Clayton had three hits.


Regan Ogden led woodbridge going 3-4. Dylan Gros earned the win scattering five hits and striking out 7 as the Panthers of Polytech defeated the Blue Raiders of Woodbridge 11-6.


Robert Hollenbeck threw 4 no-hit innings with 8 strikeouts to pace the Sussex Central Golden Knights to a 10-1 win over Seaford. Hollenbeck and Kyle Briggs each had 2 hits for the Knights, and Javon Toppin added 2 runs scored. Caden Dickerson doubled for the Blue Jays.


Chad Reichold struck out 8 over 7 innings to earn the 6-4 victory for the Bucs. Brock Hilligoss and Jaxson Turner combined for 5 rbi to pace the Milford offense. Bryce Greenly and Caden Stanley also had multiple hits. For the Ravens, Matt Warrington hit a 2 run hr in the 5th inning and also struck out 7 in 4 innings of work. Grant Lamers had 2 hits and a rbi.


Jordan Haddaway & Chris Richardson scattered 6 hits, and the Wildcats collected 12 of their own in the 12-2 win over Laurel.


Gavin Lambert and Jack Imbrugia led the bulldogs both going 4 for 4 which counted for 8 of the 21 hit as they defeated the Highlanders of McKean 22-0. Josh Niemann , Calvin Donohue and Michael Pagliei contributed doubles. McKean's Brandon Ferrara accounted for their one hit.


Jack Nielsen scattered 6 hits and allowed one earned run over 6 1/3 innings to earn the 8-3 victory for the Auks. Nielsen helped his cause by going 2-4 with 2 RBI's. Collin Jensen scored 2 runs and Jason Roux had 3 hits and 2 RBI's to pace the Auk offense. Nate McVey hit a home run and Noah Finocchiro had 2 hits and a run scored for the Hawks.


Cole Dunn struck out 5 in a complete gam 4-0 shutout for Middletown. Corey Loper was 2-3 for the Cavs. Devin McClendon added a double and 2 RBI. Jeremy Carrow gave up 2 earned runs over 5.1 innings while striking out 9 for Smyrna. Larsen Wilson was 2-3 for the Eagles.


:Dustin Sutton earned the 28-1 victory for Conrad vs MOT Charter giving up no hits, no runs and 4 strike outs in 3 innings. John O'Connor closed it out on the mound for Conrad. Dan Marcon, Jeremy Coleman and Kyle Walker had multiple hits for Conrad. Ryan Bond had a hit for MOT Charter.


Jonathan Hines pitched 5 innings for the 14-5 win recording 6 ks. Nicolas Hertzfeld went 3-3 scoring 3 runs and he drove in 3 runs. Hertzfeld also stole 4 bags. Colin Smith had 2 hits for the Seahawks. RLCA- Sam Hardcastle and Noah Dahllof had 2 hit each for RLCS.


In a back and forth game, Vinnie Green's 2 rbi single in the 4th inning put Caravel ahead for good 5-3. Joey Silan had 2 hits and 1 rbi. Ethan DeRegis had 2 doubles Cole Reynolds earned his first win of the year. Shawn Haut and Ryan Speed each had a hit for the Silver Eagles.


Adam Tommer and David Andrews led the Concord offense, both with three hits and two RBI's as they defeated Sanford 14-0. Will Rhodunda added two hits for Concord. Isiah Bracey singled for Sanford.


Hank Wilkerson pitched a complete game 11-2 win over the Green Knights of Mt. Pleasant giving up 1 earned run and striking out 12 he also went 4 for 5 with 3 runs and 2 rbis. Alex Palomo went 2 for 2 with 4 rbis for William Penn.


Hayden Trimarco threw a complete two hit shutout game for St. Elizabeth 2-0. Joey Davis threw a complete game for Appoquinimink. Brett Brooks had two hits for St. Elizabeth.


Glasgow Dragons Grab Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Wilmington Friends


Glasgow stole the lead late and defeated Wilmington Friends 11-6 on Tuesday. The game was tied at four with the Dragons batting in the bottom of the fifth when Daryn Bacon doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. Glasgow collected 11 hits and Wilmington Friends had four.The Dragons got on the board in the first inning when Andre Claudio singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.Wilmington Friends knotted the game up at four in the top of the fourth inning. John Hanson's sac fly scored one run for Wilmington Friends.Glasgow put up four runs in the sixth inning. The Dragons big inning was driven by singles by Hakeem Bell and Vaughn Park and a walk by Dominic Joseph.Wilmington Friends scored three runs in the second inning. The big inning for Wilmington Friends came thanks to a single by Hanson and a double by Jack Taylor.Reginald Grinnell pitched Glasgow to victory. He went six innings, allowing four runs on four hits and striking out six. Claudio threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Claudio recorded the last three outs to earn the save for the Dragons.Tristan Pantano was on the mound for Wilmington Friends. He allowed six hits and four runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out five. Liam Hudgings, Jake Luckangelo, and Peter Cauchy each contributed in relief for Wilmington Friends.Glasgow tallied 11 hits on the day. Bacon, Park, and Grinnell all managed multiple hits for the Dragons. Bacon went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Glasgow in hits. The Dragons didn't commit a single error in the field. Bacon had the most chances in the field with eight.Taylor led Wilmington Friends with two hits in two at bats. Samuel Gise had three stolen bases.


Delcastle's James Wade pitched 5 innings, striking out 3 to earn his first Varsity 14-0 victory over the Sussex Academy. Dave McGonigle and Jason Ryan collected 3 hits each for the Cougars. Danny Maldonado drove in 4 runs to pace Delcastle's offense. Troy Julian singled for the Seahawks.

David Willis hit his second grand slam of the season as part of Red Lion's 10 run second inning as they defeated St. Andrews 13-1. Bryce Sterling struck out 4 to pick up the win for Red Lion. Baylen Manocha went 1 for 2 with a double and a walk to lead St. Andrews.


Joey Mullen pitched five-and-one-third innings striking out nine and walking one. Wyatt Nelson picked up the win, entering in relief in the sixth inning to pace Friends to a 5-4 win over Tower Hill. Sam Gise, Eddie Micheletti, Matt Taormina, Patrick McKenzie, and Dalton Ramsey contributed an RBI apiece with Ramsey driving in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth. Friends had two extra base hits, a triple by Micheletti and a double by Patrick McKenzie.Hughes and Ky. Motley had multi-hit games for the Hillers while Anderson pitcehd five innings striking out five.


For Sanford Jack Valentine hit 2 home runs and added 2 singles, 3 RBI, and 4 runs scored. Matthew Friedkin had 2 doubles and 2 singles. Luke Punturieri had 4 hits. Ethan Citro and Noah Walsh added 3 hits apiece to pace Sanford School to a 17-16 win over Tatnall. Isiah Bracey and Colton Ferguson added 2 hits each. For Tatnall Carl Marvin had 4 hits and 3 RBI. Cameron Mills had 3 hits, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Stephen Chang and William Sheehy each added 3 hits.


Logan Strickland was 3-3 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI's and Andrew Unterreiner was 2-2 with a HR and 3 RBI's to lead the Eagles over Laurel 14-1. Jeremy Carrow was 2-3 with 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored. Drew Whitlock also had 2 RBI's and Larsen Wilson scored 3 runs. Nate Ridgeway added a double and 2 runs scored. Hunter Barr started the contest, allowing 0 ER and striking out 4 in 3 innings. Dylan Leager pitched 2 scoreless innings of relief while striking out 2 batters. Conor Ellingsworth and Holden Deihm were both 1-2 for the Bulldogs.


Trevor Collins pitched six strong innings to get the 8-1 Sussex Central win. Collins gave up 2 hits, 1 earned run, and had 8 strikeouts on the day. Blaine Hansen and Kyle Briggs lead the offense with 2 rbis each. For the Spartans, Cameron Beulah had an rbi double.


Connor Megginson pitched 6 strong innings for Hodgson to pick up the 6-2 Win on the mound for the SilverEagles over Concord. Shawn Haut and Greg Hamrick each had two hits and Will Hart had a hit and 3 RBIs on the day for Hodgson. Brian Downey had two hits for Concord


Avery Adams came in for A.I. duPont in the second inning and allowed only one unearned run the rest of the game as they defeated the Rams of Dickinson 13-5 Adams recorded 9 strikeouts in collecting the win. Jared Witte led the Tiger offense with 3 hits and 4 rbi. Michael Piccio pitched well for Dickinson and also collected 2 hits.


Carson Fowler went the distance allowing two runs on one hit, while striking out ten. At the plate, Fowler hit a solo HR and scored 3 runs to pace the Green Knights of Mt. Pleasant to a 10-2 win over the Glasgow Dragons. Mount's Andrew Thompson and Alex Kountourzis each contributed 2 RBI. Reginald Grinnell singled and scored a run for Glasgow.


Ryan Insley pitched a complete game giving up 2 hits and 1 unearned run and striking out 10 to pace the William Penn Colonials to a 3-1 win over the Cavaliers of Middletown.


Noah Finocchairo pitched a complete game, one hitter in the 18-0 St. Georges victory over Newark while collecting 6 strike outs. Finocchairo also led the offense with three hits, all doubles and scored three runs. Joey Bailey had two hits with two RBIs, and Aidan Riley and Nate McVey scored two runs each. Nicholas Zegna had the lone hit, a triple, for Newark


Mason Keene earned the win in relief while going 3-4 at the plate with 2 doubles for Appoquinimink as they defeated Delcastle 4-3. Lorenzo Carrier allowed 1 earned run and struck out 9 in 5 innings. Jarrett Weglarz had 3 hits and 2 RBI for the Jaguars. Jordan Hastings pitched a complete game and Cristian Ortega hit a double for Delcastle.


Ryan Miller earned the win by striking out 5 batters in 4 scoreless innings on the mound to pace Charter to a 12-6 win over First State Military Academy. Miller also led the CSW offense with 2 hits and 3 runs. Dan Kennan hit a home run in the 4th inning for the eventual winning run. Michael Iannone had 2 hits and 2 RBIs for FSMA.


Mike Dellose was 3-3 with a triple and 3 RBI's leading the Auk offense to a 6-1 win over the Vikings of St. Elizabeth. Anthony Mallamaci drove in 2 runs and Collin Jensen was 2-4 with 2 runs scored. Emmett Bice scattered 3 hits with 6 K's over 6 1/3 innings earning the win. Nate Thomas had a hit and scored a run with Christian Strickland driving in a run for St. E's.


Delmarva Christian took Thursday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 2-1 walk-off victory over Sussex Academy. The game was tied at one with Delmarva Christian batting in the bottom of the seventh when Brandon Schlabach singled on a 1-2 count, scoring Chase Hesson. The pitching was strong on both sides. Riley Culver struck out 11, while Sussex Academy pitcher, R Bishop sat down 5. Faust scored the only run for the Seahawks.

Brandon Hatch earned the win on the mound for CR pitching 4 innings allowing 1 run. Hatch also hit 2 doubles and drove in 3 runs as they defeated the Blue Raiders of Woodbridge by a 10-2 score. Jackson Rall had 2 hits for CR. Regan Ogden led the Blue Raider offense with 2 hits.

Dallas Crowley pitched a complete game, scattering 5 hits to pace Tower Hill School to an 8-2 win over the Bulldogs of Brandywine. Kenyon Motley had three RBI's for the Hillers. For the Bulldogs, Brandon Karpinski had two hits and scored a run.

JT Tomovich tripled in 2 runs in the top of the 8th to give the Spartans the 7-5 lead. Eric Ludman contributed 2 hits for the Spartans. Zach Gwynn had 2 hits for Sallies.

Sean Beatson (MOT) hit a 2 run homerun in the top of the 3rd to give MOT a 12-8 win over Sanford School. Bond (MOT) struck out 10. Valentine (Sanford) hit a 3 run home run. Valentine (Sanford) struck out 4.

Glasgow Dragons Clinch Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat Dickinson 7-6

The Dragons snatched the lead late in the game in a 7-6 victory over Dickinson on Saturday. The game was tied at six with Glasgow batting in the bottom of the sixth when Reginald Grinnell singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

The Dragons collected seven hits and Dickinson had ten in the high-scoring affair.

Glasgow captured the lead in the first inning. Dominic Joseph's sac fly scored one run for the Dragons.

Dickinson scored three runs in the second inning. The offensive firepower by Dickinson was led by Collin Richmond and Jetzel Garcia, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Grinnell was credited with the victory for Glasgow. He allowed ten hits and six runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one.

Kaelen Gomes took the loss, in relief, for Dickinson. He lasted five innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out seven.

Dustin Tenney started the game for Dickinson. He allowed two hits and three runs over one inning, striking out one and walking one.

Grinnell went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Glasgow in hits. The Dragons stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Grinnell led the way with three.

Dickinson tallied ten hits. Alvin Garcia, Garcia, and J Javier each had multiple hits for Dickinson.

Daniel Kennan hit a 3 run HR in the bottom of the 7th for Wilmington Charter to send the game to extra innings. David Willis drove in the winning run for Red Lion in the top of the 9th inning and won by a 7-5 score. Xander Emberger and Nate Hardcastle both collected 3 hits for Red Lion.

Trey Matthews pitched 6 innings allowing 1 earned run with 5k’s for the 11-6 win. Kevin Buglio had two HR’s with 4rbis and Brett Callahan was 3-5 with a homer and 5 rbis. Sean Kelby came in the 7th for the save and went 2-4 at the plate.

Collin Jensen was 2-4 for Archmere.

David Erickson struck out 6 in his 5 innings and was 2 for 3 with a double to help the Vikings get the 7-4 win. Zach Dale also had a pair of hits including a double. Josh Maguire was 1 for 2 with a 2-run homerun and 2 runs scored to lead Salesianum.


MIddletown's Luke Wootten went five innings striking out nine and gave up zero runs to get the 4-2 win. Jake Walls recorded the last 9 outs for the save. Justin Netsch had a solo homer, Devin McClendon and Jake Walls each had RBI singles. Hiram Davis surrendered only one hit over 4.1 innings of relief for Dover.


Brandon Schlabach pitched 5 strong innings picking up the 8-2 win. Schlabach and Chase Hesson each had two hits to lead the way offensively for DCHS. Zach Adams and Isaiah Lake scored runs for the Blue Jays.

  • Newark Yellowjackets defeated Caravel 6-3 on Saturday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at two with Newark Yellowjackets batting in the top of the sixth when Daniel Visalli singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.
  • Caravel opened up scoring in the second inning, when an error scored one run for Caravel.
  • Newark Yellowjackets evened things up at two in the top of the fifth inning. Nick Sharpe hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run.
  • Nick Zegna led things off on the hill for Newark Yellowjackets. He lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out 11.
  • Tracey started the game for Caravel. He went four innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out two. #8 and DeRegis entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one and one-third innings respectively.
  • Newark Yellowjackets collected eight hits on the day. Sharpe and Zegna each collected two hits to lead Newark Yellowjackets. Newark Yellowjackets tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Sharpe led the way with three.

Sean Kelby hit a walk off homer to win it for NCS in the bottom of the 7th as they defeated the Vikings of St. Elizabeth by a 3-2 score. Kelby also pitched a strong 6.2 innings w 12k's. Brett Lesher was 3-3 with a homerun and Kevin Buglio hit his 4th HR of the year.

Hayden Trimarco pitched a solid game for St.E's allowing only 2 runs in 6 innings.

Zack Gelof was 4 for 4 including a home run and 3 runs scored to pace the Vikings of Cape Henlopen by a 13-0 score. Jake Gelof hit 2 homeruns and 4 RBI's for the Vikings. Luke Johnson added a pair of hits with a double and 3 RBI's. Mason Fluharty threw 4 strong innings with 6 K's to get the win and Sam Johnson threw a scoreless 5th inning with 2 K's to end the game. Tyler Yoder had the lone hit for Woodbridge.

Nick Welch led Concord over Dickinson 20-3, giving up two hits and striking out four batters in five innings of work. Mark Cruser had two triples for Concord. Brian Downey had three hits for the Raiders. Derreck Scott and Jose Javier both had a hit for Dickinson.

Big First Inning Propels Glasgow To Victory Over St. Thomas More Academy

Glasgow scattered ten hits in the game. Lozada and Dante Claudio each collected two hits to lead the Dragons.

Dylan Craig led the Charter offense with 3 hits and 2 RBIs. Dan Kennan struckout 13 batters to earn the 10-0 Charter win over Tatnall. Brody Clayton led Tatnall's offense with 2 hits. Manny Covington, Sam Devard, Ryan Baker, and Dan Kennan had 2 hits each for the Force.

Will Hart pitched a complete game for Hodgson as they defeated the St. Georges Hawks by a 3-1 score and also had two doubles with an RBI at the plate, picking up the win for the Silver Eagles in a hard fought game against St Georges. Shawn Haut, Ryan Speed and Connor Megginson also had doubles for Hodgson. Robert Shorts was 3-3 at the plate for St Georges and Troy Atkins added 2 hits on the day.
Jeremy Coleman earned the win for Conrad over FMA 12 -1 giving up 1 hit 0 runs and 5 strike outs. Chris Saxton and Max Awtry each had multiple hits for Conrad.

Brian Downey pitched six strong innings and struck out 8-batters to lead Concord over Delcastle 6-0. Bobby Rhodunda led the Raiders offense with three hits. Steve Cornog and Adam Tommer both added two hits each for Concord. Jake Stewart, Nick Sensabaugh and Dave McGonigle each singled for Delcastle.

Mitchett Barter picked up the win for Polytech going 4 strong innings, striking out 8 as they defeated Seaford 11-4. TJ Mitchell led the way with 3 hits and 2 runs scored. Mitchell Barter and Louis Whitaker each had 2 hits. For the Blue Jays, Jacob Waldridge and Christian Chandler had 2 hits.

Hitchens and Borrero both had hits to lead the Bulldogs offense.

In the bottom of the 6th Mitchell Jolikko tied the game with a 2 run homer, while Alexander Weber hit the go ahead double scoring Justin Netsch for Middletown as they defeated Newark by a 5-4 score. Cole Dunn went 6.2 innings striking out 10. Nick Zegna was 2-3 with an RBI for Newark.

Jonathan Hines hurled 6 2/3 innings striking out 6 batters to pick up the DMA 6-1 win. Colin Smith and Dominic Petrucci both had homeruns for the Seahawks. Nicolas Hertzfeld had 3 hits. CR- Samuel Ervin had 2 hits including a home run for the Riders.

The Royals jumped out to an early lead thanks to a bases clearing single by Riley Culver in the first inning. Riley Culver and Ben Hobbs combined to throw 11 strikeouts on the day. Riley Culver, Joseph Jones, and Michael Briggs all collected multiple hits for the Royals.

Bo Anderson picked up his third win of the season, a 4 hit shut out with three K's. Kenyon Motley, Mike Gilbert and Dakota Crowley had multiple hit games as Tower Hill defeated Sanford 11-0. Matt Friedkin had two hits for Sanford.

Austin Elliot pitched 6 1/3 innings striking out 11 and picking up the 7-3 win for the Vikings. Gelof, Johnson, and Vitella had multiple hits for Cape, while Zach Dale homered. Jacob Anderson went 2-4 for the Indians.

Polytech started the scoring in top 1st, stringing together 4 hits for 4 runs. The Ravens responded in the bottom 1st with a grand slam from Brady Parks. Sussex Tech then scored the go ahead runs in the bottom of the 2nd off of RBI doubles by Matt Warrington and Grant Lamers and won over Polytech 6-4. Parks settled in, allowing 2 hits after the first while striking out 6. Jared Kay earned the save for the Ravens, pitching 1.1 innings, allowing 1 hit. For Polytech, Biddle pitched 4.1 innings in relief, only allowing 1 hit and 0 runs. Barter Mitchel and Alex Pingatore(2RBI) had multiple hits for Polytech.

Dover's Dominic Velazquez pitched 5 innings to pick up the conference 14-5 win over Delmar. Hiram Davis reached base 5 times with 4 runs, Sam Courtney 2-2 with 3 RBI 2 runs scored and Nathan Turner had 2 hits with RBI for the Dover offense. Delmar's Gabriel Rincon reached base all 4 times with 2 RBI and 2 runs for the Wildcats.

Archmere's Mike Dellose and Danny Truono combined on the 16-0 shutout over Tatnall School scattering 6 hits. Dellose and Truono helped their cause by both driving in 2 runs and scoring a run a piece. Jack Nielsen drove in 3 runs on 2 hits and Max Gioffre drove in 2 runs on 2 hits while scoring 2 runs for the Auks. Jackson Conkey had 2 hits for the Hornets.

Hodgson won a tight 1-0 game over Mt. Pleasant. Ryan Speed pitched a complete game shut out and had 14 strike outs to pick up the win for the SilverEagles. Carson Fowler pitched a complete game for Mt Pleasant.

Trey Matthews tossed a no-hitter and struck out 9. John Ueltzhoffer hit a 2 run HR while Brett Callahan 2-4, Kevin Buglio 2-3 2 rbi's and Nick Dalton 2-2 4 rbi's led the hitting for NCS as they defeated Charter 10-0.

Justin Brooks scattered four hits and gave up run one in a 5-1 complete game for St. Elizabeth. Nathan Thomas and Brett Brooks had two hits each with Brett Brooks having a two run triple for St. Elizabeth. Brock Hilligoss had two hits and Mason Haggerty had an RBI double for Milford.

Appo's Jarrett Weglarz kept Salesianum hitters off-balance and held a 1-0 lead for 6 innings until Salesianum broke through with a 2-run 7th inning to take a 2-1 lead. Appo answered back in the bottom of the 7th with an RBI single by Tre'Zhan Selby to tie the game at 2 and send the game into extra innings. In the top of the 8th, Salesianum scored 2 runs to take a 4-2 lead. Jonathan Baker picked up the save with a 1-2-3 8th. Weglarz threw 7 innings with 6 strikeouts. For Salesianum, Eugene Holler threw 7 innings while recording 6 strikeouts. Offensively, Matt Poma had an RBI double for Salesianum while Mason Keene and Jarrett Weglarz added 2 hits each for Appo.

:Dustin Sutton got the win for Conrad pitching 6 strong innings as they defeated Newark 15-5 score. Five Conrad hitters had multiple hits, Dustin Sutton,Marshal Awtry, Jack Sisofo, Chris Saxton and Kyle Walker, Walker and Awtry both homered. Joe Visalli, Nick Zegna and Luke Parker-Marcheski each had multiple hits for Newark, Zegna homered.

The Royals took the lead early on a bases clearing double by Joseph Jones in the bottom of the first. But, Red Lion struck back with 3 of their own in the 3rd inning on singles by Hardcastle and Emberger as they defeated Delmarva Christian 10-4. Emberger pitched a complete game, striking out three and giving up 4 runs on 8 hits.

McAllister collected multiple hits for Red Lion. Andrew Workman had two hits for the Royals.

Pitcher Aaron Holiday went 6 and 1/3 strong innings allowing 0 runs while scattering 4 hits with 10 strike outs to pace Caravel to a 2-0 win over Neumann Gorretti of Philadelphia, PA. Joey Silan hit a solo homerun in the first to put the bucs ahead. Kevin Keister’s sac fly in the 7th added an insurance run scoring Tyler Croce. Eiser had 2 hits for Neumann Goretti.

4-27-18 Baseball

A 7 run 5th inning led the Riders to the 18-6 conference victory. Austin Russell and Matt Atkinson both had 3 hits on the day to lead the Rider offense. Jackson Rall had 2 hits for the Riders. Rall and Atkinson also collected 3 RBI each. Jaden Rivera had 3 hits for the Spartans.

Matt Friedkin pitched 6 innings allowing 5 hits, 2 walks, and one hit batter in a losing cause. Baylen Manocha won his fourth game striking out four while walking 5 as St. Andrews defeated Sanford 3-2. Nick Lilley earned his 2nd save with 1.2 innings of relief. Isiah Bracey had two singles and one RBI for Sanford.

Sussex Central was led by Trevor Collins on the mound allowing just 2 hits in 5 innings of work striking out 9 as they defeated the Eagles of Smyrna 11-1. The Knights offense was led by Blaine Hansen and Trevor Collins who had 3 hits each. Collins also drove in 3 runs. Cade Keeler and Vonny Toppin both also had mutliple hits for the Knights. Kyle Briggs tripled driving in two. Nathan Ridgeway, Logan Strickland and Nevin Bell had hits for the Eagles.

Washington was lead by Riley Horner who threw 6.1 innings to gather the 3-2 win for the Jaguars. At the plate, Keionte Nutter had a double and two runs scored for Washington. Offensively for the Bulldogs, Conor Ellingsworth had a double, Devon John an RBI single, and Holden Deihm drove in a run on a triple. Vance Joseph allowed one earned run over 5 innings on the mound.

Bryce Sterling pitched a complete game shutout, striking out 3 for Red Lion as they defeated the Brandywine Bulldogs 5-0 At the plate, Craig McAllister, Nate Hardcastle, David Willis and Xander Emberger had multi-hit games. Gavin Lambert went 1-3 with a walk to lead Brandywine.

Hodgson defeated Archmere 8-3 with Connor Megginson picking up the win on the mound for the SilverEagles. Ryan Speed had three hits including a double and an RBI for Hodgson. Will Hart and CJ Deery each had two hits and Deery added three RBI's for the SilverEagles who improved to 10-3 on the year. Brady Dalton and Anthony Mallamaci each had Home Runs for Archmere.

Noah Finocchairo picked up his fourth win on the season going seven strong innings, allowing one hit and striking out 10 as they defeated the Ravens of Sussex Tech by a 6-0 score. Joey Bailey had three of the Hawk's eight hits while Brandon Bradford and Joey Rinarelli homered. Braydan Graham had the lone hit for the Ravens, which was a double.

Lorenzo Carrier threw 6 shut out innings, striking out 8 and allowing only 1 hit to earn the 14-0 win for Appoquinimink. Javon Fields was 4-4 with 2 doubles and a home run. Alex Jones hit a 3 run home run for the Jaguars. Tre' Selby and Jarrett Weglarz had 2 RBI each, and Gabe Dermott and Lorenzo Carrier had 2 hits each.

Jack Hanson plated the eventual winning run with a single to score Sam Gise in the bottom of the 6th. Will Davis then ripped a double to score Hanson for the insurance run as the Quakers of Wilmington Friends defeated the Yellowjackets of Newark 5-3. An inning earlier Eddie Micheletti tied the game 3-3 with a two-run triple. Joey Mullen pitched a complete game striking out five and walking no one. For Newark, Don Visalli and Luke Marcheski each hit triples with Marcheski plating two.

David Erickson threw 5 strong innings of 3 hit baseball before Riverdale strung a couple hits and capitalized on an error in the 5th to take back the 7-4 lead. Cape was led by Luke Johnson at the plate going 4 for 4 with a double. Jake Gelof hit a solo homerun and David Erickson hit a double with an RBI. Riverdale was led by Matt Day with a double and 2 RBI's.

Josh Maguire hit a 2-run home run for Salesianum in the bottom of the 4th to break a scoreless tie. Anthony Frechette hit a 2-run triple in the bottom of the 6th to extend the lead as Salesianum defeated Conrad 4-0. Marshall Awtry threw 6 innings for Conrad, recording 6 strikeouts. He also added a triple.

Jared Witte scattered 6 hits and allowed 2 earned runs over 6 1/3 innings to lead A.I. duPont over Sanford 7-3. Andrew Harp provided the offensive spark with two hits including a triple. He also drove in 2 runs. Ethan Citro went the distance for Sanford and struck out over 6 innings.

Rick Townsend pitched 5.1 innings of no-hit baseball. MOT's Ryan Bond broke up the no-hitter in the 7th with a single off Nick Lilley. Bond pitched well himself pitching 5 innings, striking out 7 while walking one to pace St. Andrews to a 7-0 win over the Mustangs of MOT Charter.

4-30-18 Baseball

Justin McClain tripled in the 7th inning and scored on Jake Stewart's sacrifice fly to give Delcastle the 2-1 lead over Sanford. Danny Maldonado drove in the other Cougar run in the 6th. The Warrior's Jack Valentine had both hits and struck out 10 Cougars on the mound.

Josh Sivak picked up the win striking out 8 and also had an rbi double. Nate McGray had 4 rbis to lead the offense while Cameron Beulah, Gabe Martin, Jaden Rivera, Tyler Chalmers, and Jordan Thomas all had hits to pace Lake Forest to a 13-3 win over the Ravens of St. Thomas More. Ben Stant had an rbi double for the Ravens.

The Royals took the lead early on a single by Andrew Workman in the 1st. But Salisbury Christian claimed the lead back with a big 4th inning, scoring 4 as they defeated Delmarva Christian by a 7-6 score. The Royals totaled 8 hits in the game and were led by Wes Hobbs and Andrew Workman who had multiple hits in the game.

The McKean Highlanders earned it first win of the year against Sussex Academy. Brandon Ferrara went 6 2/3 innings striking out 15, walking one batter and giving up four runs. Ferrara also went 3-5 at the plate with a home run and five RBI's. Ramos, Kabatt and Rivera each collected multiple hits for McKean. Ronald Faust led Sussex Academy going 2-4 with 2 RBI's.

McKean Highlanders defeated Sussex Academy 15-7 on Monday thanks in part to Brandon Ferrara, who drove in five runners. Ferrara drove in runs on a single in the fifth, a home run in the sixth, and a single in the seventh. McKean Highlanders earned the victory despite allowing Sussex Academy to score four runs in the seventh inning. Ronald Faust, Blaise Kelley, and Zachary Zalewski powered the big inning with RBIs.
McKean Highlanders Varsity put up six runs in the sixth inning. Jimmy Arriaga, Jose Rivera, and Ferrara all drove in runs in the frame. Ferrara took the win for McKean Highlanders. He allowed four hits and four runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out 15. DeVon Taylor threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. Ryan Bishop took the loss for Sussex Academy. He surrendered five runs on four hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out eight and walking one. McKean Highlanders Varsity scattered 14 hits in the game. Ferrara, Alex Kabatt, Kevin Ramos, and Rivera all managed multiple hits for McKean Highlanders. Ferrara led McKean Highlanders Varsity with three hits in five at bats. Faust went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Sussex Academy in hits.

JT Tomoich threw complete game 2 hitter. Tomovich was 2 for 3 with 4 RBIs at the plate. Eric Ludman hit a three run home run. Matt Phillips also added 2 hits for the Spartans as they defeated the Seaford Blue Jays 17-0. Dylan Niblett and Christian Chandler each singled for the Blue Jays.

5-1-18 Baseball


Zach Gelof picked up the 11-1 win on the mound throwing 6 complete innnings. He also reached base safely in all 4 plate appearances including a homerun. Mason Fluharty was 2 for 3 with 4 RBI's and Zach Dale and Luke Johnson each added a homerun and 2 RBI's. Austin Elliott had 2 hits and 2 runs scored as well for the Vikings. Brandon Hatch led the Riders going 2 for 3 at the plate.


Rick Townsend pitched a two hit complete game 6-1 win over Tower Hill. Jack Lauer and Evan Murray had two hits each for the Cardinals; Ken Motley and Kyle Motley each had a single for the Hillers.


Jordan Haddaway tossed 6 innings of 2-hit ball and the Wildcats scratched out 3 runs in the divisional 3-0 victory over Lake Forest.


Michael Carrington earned the 10-0 win for Dover. The Senators scored six runs with two outs in the 2nd inning and were paced offensively by Dom Velazquez, Hiram Davis, and Alec Rodriguez (3RBI) - all who collected two hits. Noah Lanouette belted a homerun for the Senators.


The big offensive day for Smyrna was led by Mason Drummond who contributed 3 hits, 2 runs, and 2 rbi as Smyrna defeated Seaford 18-6. Mike Carrow also had 3 hits and drove in 3 runs. Tyler Harris had a 3 hit day for Seaford.


Milford fought back down 5-0 in the 6th plating 8 runs. Brock Hilligoss tripled home 2 runs to put the Buccaneers up 6-5 and won by a final score 8-5. Caden Oplinger went 2-4 at the plate for MIlford. Chad Reichhold allowed 6 hits and five runs over 6 innings, striking out 9 and only surrendering 1 walk. Bryce Greenly picked up the save in the 7th. Sussex Central was led on the mound by senior Robbie Hollenbeck who pitched great limiting the Bucs to 2 hits while striking out 8 and walking one in five innings. Vonny Toppin led the Knights offense going 3-4 with a triple . Blaine Hansen had two hits and Ethan Watkinson hit a 3 run home run for Sussex Central.


Laurel's Trace Hitchens pitched 5 strong innings for the Bulldogs, allowing just 3 hits, 0 earned runs and 6 K's. Dalton Perdue(2-3,Double) and Holden Deihm(2-2,Double) and 1 RBI each. Tech's Jason Genshaw(3-4, 2RBI) and Grant Lamers(2-5, 2RBI) led the Ravens offensively as they defeated the Buldogs by a 12-2 score.


AI clawed back from a 5-0 deficit to tie the game in the 5th. Wyatt Nelson entered in relief for Friends and shut down the AI offense striking out three. Four WFS pitchers (Pantano, Cauchy, Hudgings, and Nelson) combined for the win. Johnson and Adams hit doubles for AI and Eddy Peguero drove in two. For Friends, Jack Hanson went 3 for 4, Patrick McKenzie went 2 for 2 with a double, and Will Davis plated two with a single as they defeated the Tigers of AI by a 7-5 score.


Brian Downey led the Concord Raiders to a 9-1 victory over Brandywine. Downey pitched a complete game, striking out nine batters and scattering four hits. Downey also added a RBI triple. Johnny Ford had two doubles for Concord as they defeated the Bulldogs of Brandywine 9-1. David Andrews, Mark Cruser, Bobby Rhodunda and Cade Pfander all had two hits for the Raiders. Michael Waterfield and Tyler Elmore both had an extra base hit for Brandywine.


Mitchell Barter threw seven innings of one hit ball and added two hits to pace the panthers to a 4-0 win over Newark Charter. Logan Vivian broke the no hitter with a single in the bottom of the seventh inning.


Luke Wootten gave up one run in 6 innings and struck out 10 to get the 11-1 win on the mound for Middletown. Jake Walls went 3-3 with 2RBI and 2 Runs scored, while Alexander Weber, Blake Harbert, and Luke Wootten each collected multiple 2 hits on the day. Stefan Harroldson went 2-3 with an RBI for Mount Pleasant.

DMA- AJ Blanchard picked up his first win of the season while striking out 6 batters as the Seahawks defeated the Mustangs of MOT Charter 19-1. Colin Smith added a home run. Wyatt Inman, Nic Hertzfeld, James Hahn, Michael Fedorkowicz, Jonathan Hines, Matthew Kohan, and Colin McGarry all had multiple hits for the Seahawks. Brody Sapp had a hit and scored a run for MOT.


Dan Kennan earned his 3rd win of the season by scattering 6 hits and striking out 10 batters to pace the Force of Charter to a 6-4 win over Archmere. Spencer Goff and Sam Devard led the Charter offense with 2 hits. Dylan Craig's 2-run double in the 5th inning gave Charter the lead for good. The Auks offense was led by Jason Roux's 2-run homerun and triples by Mike Dellose and Michael Mallamaci.


Derek Pusey struck out 4 and scattered 3 hits to pick up the complete game RLC 4-1 win. On Senior night, Senior Noah Dahllof led off the bottom of the 5th with a double and later scored the tying run. In the 6th, senior David Willis hit a homer unto add to the Lions lead. For Glasgow, catcher Domenic Joseph hit a solo home run.

Ryan Insley pitch 5 innings striking out 6 with no hits and no runs.Hank Wilkerson went 3 for 4 with 1 run 2 rbis paced Wiliam Penn to an 8-2 win over the Raiders of Concord.

Joey Silan pitched a complete game shut out scattering 3 hits with 12 strikeouts. Kevin Keister hit two triples with 1 rbi. Silan also hit a 2 run home run in the first inning to pace Caravel to a 5-0 win over Sussex Central. Cade Keeler had 2 hits including a double for Sussex Central.

Mike Dellose led the Auks offense, driving in 4 runs with a home run and a single as they defeated First State Military Academy by a 19-2 score. Collin Jensen was 3-3 with 2 RBI's. Mike Mallamaci added 2 RBI's with a double and a triple. Garrett Weldin had a double and an RBI for FSMA.

Tower Hill's offense came alive in the conference game, pounding out 18 hits in the 17-7 victory. Mike Gilbert, Bo Anderson, Ted Hughes, Dakota Crowley Jack Zungalia and Sander Margolin all had multiple hits. Tatnall's Jackson Conkey had two doubles and scored two runs. Michael Chang had two hits and an RBI for the Hornets.

Linden Carey tossed a complete game 3-hitter; and Jordan Haddaway doubled in Hunter VonArx twice in the Delmar 3-1 conference win over Milford.

Noah Covington tossed 5 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits to pick up the 12-0 win for Sussex Tech. Covington also added 2 hits and Robert Locklear doubled and drove in 3 runs. Zach Adams and Jacob Waldridge each singled for the Blue Jays.

The Eagles scored all their runs in the 5th inning to take the lead and hold on for the 5-3 win. Logan Strickland, Dylan Leager, and Andrew Unterreiner allowed only 3 hits. Brendan Davis was 2-3 and Larsen Wilson was 1-3 with two RBI’s. Mike Carrow and Caden Naylor added an RBI each, respectively.
Derek Cannon had 2 of Woodbridge’s 3 hits and Dylan Perdue pitched well for the Blue Raiders.

Christian Strickland had three hits including a double and a triple with four RBI's for St. Elizabeth as they defeated Charter School 13-7. Michael Esposito had two hits with a triple and two RBI's for Wilmington Charter.

Pitching By Anthony Lozada Shuts Out AI DuPont, Glasgow Takes The Win

Anthony Lozada didn't allow a single run against DuPont, throwing a complete game shutout and leading the Dragons to a 5-0 victory on Thursday.

Glasgow notched three runs in the sixth inning. Andre Claudio had an RBI double in the inning to lead the run scoring.

One bright spot for DuPont was a double by Witte in the first inning.

Lozada led the Dragons to victory on the pitcher's mound. He went seven innings, allowing zero runs on four hits, striking out 11 and walking one.

Witte took the loss for DuPont. He lasted four innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out five.

Glasgow totaled seven hits. Dominic Joseph and Andre Claudio had two hits each to lead the Dragons. Claudio ended the day with four RBI's. Glasgow was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error.

Aidan Lambert went five for five at the plate witch include two doubles. He scored three times and drove in seven runs to pace Brandywine to a 20-5 win over McKean. Brandon Karpinski added a triple and Michael Waterfield went three for three with two doubles. Jack Imbrugia got the win

Hodgson won over Newark 10-2 behind combined pitching from Will Hart, who picked up the win, and Ryan Speed in relief. Donnie Weaver led the Silver Eagles
offensively with 3 hits and three RBIs. Shawn Haut and Dan Brown had multiple hits for Hodgson. Nick Zegna and Luke Marcheski each had two hits for Newark

Jarrett Weglarz struck out 7 to earn the 9-7 win for Appoquinimink. Mason Keene had 3 hits and 2 runs scored and Javon Fields had 2 hits, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored to lead the Jaguar offense. Brandon Hoffman and Krew Bouldin had 2 hits each. Alex Weber had 3 hits, including a double and a home run, and 4 RBI for Middletown.

Joey Bailey, Troy Atkins, and Ronnie Cole had two hits a piece for the Hawks. Multiple Hawks had two RBIs with Noah Finocchairo leading the way with three RBIs. Nate McVey went 5 innings scattering three hits and striking out 6 to pace St. Georges to a 13-0 win over the Delcastle Cougars. St. Georges would like to thank Delcastle Baseball for including their program in the first annual Brown Vo-Tech Alumi game. It was a well executed and special evening.

Xander Emberger, Bryce Sterling and David Willis all had extra base hits to lead Red Lion to a 12-0 win over the Mustangs of MOT Charter. Ben Anto and Garrett Alexander collected MOT Charter’s hits.

Lake Forest grabbed an early lead on a 1st inning grand slam by McGray. The Royals regained the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning on singles by Brandon Schlabach and Andrew Workman and won by a 10-7 score.

The Royals had multi hit games from Brandon Schlabach, Andrew Workman, Joseph Jones, Ben Hobbs, Chase Hesson and Michael Briggs, who also homered.

Lake Forest was led by John Forrest who doubled and multiple hit game by Nathan McGray.

Joey Mullen (Friends) and Carson Fowler (Mt. Pleasant) battled to a 0-0 tie through four innings. Mt. Pleasant opened the scoring in the 5th when Andrew Thompson forced a two-run Friends error. Friends plated five in the bottom of the inning with singles from Wyatt Nelson, Will Davis, Jack Taylor, Sam Gise, and Patrick McKenzie. Wyatt Nelson closed the game for Friends in the seventh as they won 5-2. Christian Miller had two hits including a double for Mount. Will Davis, Jack Taylor, Sam Gise, and Dalton Ramsey each had multi-hit days for Friends.

TJ Mitchell was 3-4 with 2 doubles, a homerun and four rbi's. Louis Whittaker and Alex Pingatore also added homeruns for the panthers as they defeated the Riders of Caesar Rodney 11-6. Chase Rebuck and Mitchell Barter had multiple hit games. Samuel Ervin had two hits for the riders.

: Luke Johnson and Zach Dale led the Vikings at the plate as they defeated Dover 8-2. Johnson went 4 for 4 with 4 RBI's including a homerun and 3 runs scored. Dale reached base safely in all 4 at bats including 2 walks and 3 runs scored. Austin Elliott threw 5 shutout innings with 6 K's. Dover's Chris Dabney added a home run in the 6th.

Tech's Matt Warrington pitched 6.1 strong innings, scattering 7 hits, allowing 2 earned runs, with 1BB and 12K's as the Ravens of Sussex Tech defeated the Spartans of St. Marks 9-3. The Ravens were led offensively by Brayden Graham(2-4), Matt Warrington(1-3), and Tyler Heder(2-3), who each had 2RBI's. Tech's Jason Genshaw and Grant Lamers add 1RBI each with solo HR's. For the Spartans, Dominc Catalano(1-2) had 2RBI's and scored 1 run. Seth Bialecki came in relief, allowing 2 hits, 1ER, and 5K's over 3 inning for the Spartans.

Ethan Citro pitched a complete game, four-hitter, striking out 8, earning the 6-1 victory for Sanford. Jack Valentine was 4 for 4 with two triples. Isiah Bracey added two hits for Sanford. Brandon Ferrara and Jimmy Arriaga both doubled for McKean.

The Hawks used a five run fifth inning to capture the 9-7 victory in a great non-conference baseball game. Nate McVey led the offense going 3 for 3 with three RBIs and a run scored. Joey Rinarelli hit his third home run of the season and Troy Atkins added two hits and two runs scored for the Hawks. Jaden Dickerson had three hits and three RBIs and Hayden Trimacro battled through five innings collecting eight strike outs for St. Elizabeth's

Caravel got things moving in the first inning, when Aaron Holiday doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs and defeated West Deptford 5-3. Holiday got the win as well. He lasted six innings, allowing five hits while striking out seven. Cole Reynolds earned the save. Michael Summerfield, Joey Silan, Brad Kaden, Holiday, Jakob Hoffman, and Kevin Keister each collected one hit for the Bucs. M Gismondi led West Deptford with two hits.

Glasgow picks up the win over DAPSS

Kyle Ford pitched a complete game, striking out eight for Glasgow as they defeated DAPSS 24-1.

Andre Claudio had a big day at the plate, going 5-5, while picking up 5 RBI’s. Daryn Bacon went 2 for 4, had a home run and picked up 5 RBI’s. Anthony Lozada was 3-4, and stole 4 bases.

Middletown’s Jake Walls throws a complete game shutout with 8k s to secure the 14-0 victory for the Cavs. The offense was paced by multiple hit days from Eric Schwar, Justin Netsch, Bennet Falletta, Luke Wootten, and Jake Walls. Conrad’s Jackson Hansen went 2-3 for the Red Wolves. Middletown Baseball’s thoughts and prayers go out to Tyler Reinert and Brenden Haywood were injured in a first inning collision.

Zach Pritchard went 4 for 4 with 3 rbis. Dominic Fernicola and Matt Hammond each had 2 hits and 1 rbli to pace William Penn to a 7-1 win over the Bulldogs of Brandywine.

The Royals used a six running inning and the arms of Brandon Schlabach and Andrew Workman to defeat the Bulldogs 8-0. Schlabach and Workman combined to toss 11 strikeouts and scattered 2 hits in the game.

Austin Warrington and Brian Gilardi lead the Spartans with 3 hits apiece. Ricky Gannett and Joey Lungen also added 2 hits each to pace the Spartans of St. Marks to a 9-2 win over the Yellowjackets of Newark. Josh Venti picthed 6 strong innings striking out 6. Jeff Carlson had an RBI single for Newark.

Mitch Barter threw six innings giving up five hits and one run to earn the 11-1 win for the panthers. Alex Pingatore was 2-3 with three rbi's. Evan Harris and Chase Rebuck had Rbi triples for Polytech. Johnny Forrest had two hits for the spartans.

Tristan Pantano pitched a complete 5-inning game for the Friends 17-1 win over Brandywine. Wyatt Nelson picked up three hits, and WIll Davis drove in four on two hits including a home run. Eddie Micheletti and Dalton Ramsey also had two hits apiece with Micheletti hitting his second home run of the season and Ramsey notching his 100th high school hit. A. Lambert, Donahue, and Waterfield each had hits for Brandywine.

Dustin Sutton threw a gem on Monday for Conrad , allowing zero runs and besting Mount Pleasant by a score of 11-0
Conrad secured the victory thanks to six runs in the fourth inning.Marshall Awtry, Sutton, Zack Camilli, Jack Sisofo, and Jack Hansen each drove in runs during the inning. Christian Green had multiple hits for Mount Pleasant.

Brandon Bradford led the Hawks offense with three hits and six RBIs. Noah Finocchiaro had two hits and three RBIs while Nate McVey contributed two RBIs. Aidan Riley went 3 for 4 scoring two runs while pitching five innings of two hit baseball with six strikeouts to pace the St. Georges Hawks to a 13-1 win over the Tigers of Rising Sun of MD. Jacob Timchula and Austin Goudeaux had the hits for Bo Manor

Brock Diaz tripled in the second inning to put Sussex Academy ahead 2-1. In the following frame, Sussex Academy opened up a close game with a big third inning highlighted by Dylan Mooney's (2-2) bases loaded double. The Seahawks sent 16 batters to the plate and scored 11 runs. Sussex Academy cleared the bench in the bottom of the fourth by inserting all 6 bench players and added another 6 runs to pull away from St. Thomas More, winning in 5 innings, 20-5. Freshman Bill Stanton doubled in his first varsity at bat to knock in a couple of runs. Sam Goldfarb also collected his first varsity hit with a solid single to left-center. Nate Sneller, Ryan Bishop, Jack Faust, Mitch Ewing, Anthony Oscar, and Brock Diaz all added hits for the balanced Seahawk offense.

Jack Faust started his first varsity game, striking out 6 while walking only 1 Raven to earn the victory. SA's only senior, Noah Garrison closed out the game with two strikeouts in the 5th.

St. Thomas More was led by the Lee brothers, De'Marius and De'Marcus, who both had doubles and scored a run for the Ravens.

Steve Cornog led Concord with two hits and 4-RBI's. Mark Cruser had 2-doubles for Concord as they defeated the Highlanders of McKean by a 7-1. Jose Rivera had a RBI single for McKean.
 
Baseball 5-9-18


Brendan Davis was 3-5 with a double and 2 RBI's, while Nate Ridgeway was 3-5 with an RBI and a triple to propel the Eagles over CR 8-5. Mike Carrow and Dylan Leager added 2 RBI's each, respectively. Andrew Unterreiner threw 5 quality innings while striking out 5, and allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. Dylan Leager picked up the win in two(2) innings of relief where he allowed 0 earned runs. Thomas Pornatto threw 5 1/3 innings and allowed 1 earned run while striking out 8 Eagles. Brandon Hatch was 2-3 with an RBI, and Pornatto was 2-4 for the Riders.


Bo Anderson picked up his fourth win of the season, striking out six as Tower Hill defeated Sanford 11-3. Tower Hills' offense was led by Mike Gilbert with three hits and three runs scored. Bo Anderson had a triple and two RBI's while Kyle added two RBI's. Sanford's Ethan Citro had a hit scored two runs.


Andrew Kelly picked up the win for the Knights scattering 2 hits, striking out five and not allowing any runs in four innings pitched to pick up the 5-1 win. Ethan Watkinson, Robbie Hollenbeck and Jake Brewington had 2 hits a piece. Vonny Toppin and Cade Keeler knocked in runs for the Knights. Gabriel Wescott led the Raider's offense going 1-2 with 2 walks and an RBI.


Trace Hitchens threw 6 innings for the Bulldogs while C J Otwell came in for the final 3 innings and the 4-3 Win after 9 innings. Lake was led defensively by 6.1 innings on the mound by Tyler Noell, and offensively with multi hit games by Martin, Rivera, Parker, and Morris. The Bulldogs were led offensively by Devin John and CJ Owell with two hits each, and Conor Ellingsworth with the walk off Sacrifice Fly in the bottom of the 9th.


In a well pitched game, David Erickson got the win going the distance with 13 strikeouts to pace Cape Henlopen to a 13-1 win over the Panthers of Polytech. Jake Gelof opened the scoring with a solo homerun and Austin Elliott followed it with one of his own. Luke Johnson had a pair of hits for the Vikings and scored a run. Alex Pingitore had a hit and a run for Polytech.


Delmar's Jordan Haddaway, Carson Phillips, Chris Richardson, and Ryan Nelson combined to allow just one hit over 6 innings to pace Delmar to a 15-3 win over the Seaford Blue Jays. Dylan Pasta and Gabe Rincon each had 2 hits with Rincon driving in 4. Christian Chandler had an RBI single for Seaford.


Ryan Speed pitched four strong innings for Hodgson and added two hits including a home run in the sixth inning and won 3-2 over the Cavaliers of Middletown. Will Hart pitched the final three innings to pick up the save. Mitchell Jolikko had a double for Middletown.


Gavin Lambert led the Bulldogs with four hits, Calvin Donohue add three hits to pace Brandywine to an 11-1 win over the AI DuPont Tigers.


Claudio Strong At The Plate As Glasgow Defeats Sussex AcademyAndre Claudio went four for four, leading Glasgow to a 13-3 win over Sussex Academy. Claudio singled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the fourth, and tripled in the fifth.The Dragons fired up the offense in the first inning. Claudio singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.Glasgow tallied three runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by the Dragons was led by Claudio and Hakeem Bell, both driving in runs in the inning.Vaughn Park earned his first career victory on the mound for Glasgow. He went four innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out four. Dante Claudio threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Claudio recorded the last three outs to earn the save for the Dragons.Ryan Bishop took the loss for Sussex Academy. He went three innings, allowing ten runs on nine hits and striking out three.Glasgow racked up 12 hits. Claudio, Bell, Anthony Lozada, and Dominic Joseph each collected multiple hits for the Dragons Varsity. Claudio went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Glasgow in hits.


Joey Davis struck out 5 to earn the 16-2 win for Appoquinimink. Javon Fields was 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, 3 runs scored and 3 RBI, and Krew Bouldin was 3 for 4 with a double, home run, 3 runs scored and 5 RBI. Mason Keene and Brandon Hoffman scored 3 runs each for the Jaguars. Brandon Bradford had 2 hits, and Joseph Bailey and Hunter McVey hit back to back home runs for St. Georges.


Newark Charter's Kevin Buglio 2-2 hit his 5th HR of the season to pace Newark Charter to an 11-1 win over Tatnall. Trey Matthews was 2-2 w 2 rbis and Hayden Harach had 2 rbis to lead the offense. Tatnall's Carl Marvin had two hits.


Hank Wilkerson went 3 for 4 with 3 runs. Alex Palomo had 3 rbis.Hank and Alex combined to pitch a shut out giving up 3 hits and striking out 9 as the Colonials of William Penn defeated the Cougars of Delcastle 8-0.


Max Gioffre was 3-3 with 2 RBI's and 3 runs scored. Mike Dellose was 3-3 with 3 RBI's and 3 runs scored. Collin Jensen was 4-4 with 7 RBI's to lead the Auk offense to an 18-0 win over the Mustangs of MOT Charter. Auk pitchers allowed a first inning hit to MOT's Sean Beatson.


Jonathan Hines picked up his 4th win of the season while recording 7 strikeouts to pace Delaware Military Academy to an 8-2 win over Charter. Michael Fedorkowicz, Kevin Williams, and Matthew Marandola all homered for the Seahawks. Daniel Kennan had 7 strikeouts for the Force.


Conrad Takes 5-4 Victory Over Red Lion Christian Academy


Conrad tallied three runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to home runs by Kyle Walker and Marshall Awtry.Jeremy Coleman got the win for Conrad . He lasted two innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while walking zero.X Emberger led things off on the mound for Red Lion Christian Academy. Brian Downey threw a complete game leading Concord to a 10-6 victory over Newark. The Raider offense was led by Steve Cornog's two hits and two RBI's. Will Rhodunda added 2-RBI's for Concord. Nick Zegna had three hits and 3-RBI's for Newark.


Carson Fowler struck out ten in a complete game shutout. Fowler had two hits and two runs scored for Mount as they defeated the Rams of Dickinson 4-0. Dustin Tenney and Kaelen Gomes each singled for Dickinson.


Jonathan Baker pitched a complete game allowing only 2 hits and no runs as they defeated the Vikings of St. Elizabeth by a 1-0 score. Connor Murphy singled to RF in the bottom of the first to drive in Jonathan Baker as the only run of the game. Samuel DelCollo went 2 for 2 for Salesianum. Christian Strickland and Craig Small led the offense for St. Elizabeth's each collecting a base hit while Justin Brooks pitched 6 innings allowing only one run.

Andrew Carney tossed 3 no-hit innings with 7 strikeouts for the Senators as they defeated the Seaford Blue Jays by a 14-1 score. Dominic Velasquez had 2 hits and scored 2 runs and Chris Dabney had 3 hits and scored 2 runs. Dylan Nibblett and Ray Brady hit doubles for Seaford.

Troy Haynes delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the 7th for the Woodbridge 6-5 victory. Every Blue Raider starter recorded a base hit, including two from Regan Ogden, Dylan Layton, and Kolby Rust in a well played game. Dalton Perdue had three hits for Laurel, while Conor Ellingsworth and Vance Joseph added two. Tyler DeFord earned the win going the distance, while Joseph took a tough loss for Laurel.

Joey Mullen pitched a perfect five-inning game for the Quakers on just 48 pitches as they defeated the Rams of Dickinson 10-0. Eddie Micheletti went three-for-three. He and Matt Taormina drove in two runs apiece while Nelson, Gise, and Davis each collected an RBI. The win is Mullen's sixth of the season and lowers his 2018 ERA to 0.66.

The Royals won in dramatic fashion on a 2 run single by Michael Briggs in the bottom of the 7th, scoring Chase Hesson and Wes Hobbs and won 3-2. Andrew Workman pitched 5 innings of shutout baseball with 9 strikeouts and giving up only 2 hits.

Joseph Jones had two hits for the Royals.

Holland pitched a complete game for Salisbury Christian, giving up 3 runs off 7 hits and striking out 7 Royals.

Wade Brooks picked up the 6-3 win for the Spartans while Cameron Beulah lead the offense with 2 hits including an rbi double. Gabe Martin, Johnny Forrest, and Seth Parker all had hits. For Smyrna, Nevin Bell collected 2 hits.


Dover's Dominic Velazquez pitched 5 innings in relief with 7 strikeouts for the 5-4 conference win over Milford. Nathan Turner had 2 RBI double to help the Senators with the comeback win over the Buccaneers. Lanouette and Carney each had two hits for the Dover offense. Milford's Bryce Greenly and Chad Reichold each had a homerun for the Bucs.


Concord entered the bottom of the 7th inning down 6-5. Johnny Ford led off the inning with a triple. Brian Downey followed with a RBI single. Pinch runner, Zack Allman advanced to third base after a sacrifice bunt and wild pitch. Cade Pfander drove in the walk off run with a single and won 7-6. Concord's offense was led by Steve Cornog's 4-hits. Brian Downey and David Andrews each added two hits. WCS were led by two hits from both Alex Zhu and Emmanuel Covington.


Micheal Pagliei led the Bulldogs offense going two for two at the plate, with a double, triple and a walk, scoring three runs, with three RBI's as they defeated the Hornets of Tatnall by a 14-0 score. Calvin Donohue, Nick Barton, Micheal Waterfield and Aidan Lambert added doubles.


Hodgson won 8-0 over AI Dupont with CJ Deery picking up the win on the mound for the SilverEagles. Dan Brown led the way offensively for Hodgson with an HR, Double and 4 RBIs. CJ Deery and Nick Chichocki had 2 hits a piece and Cichocki also had 2 RBIs for Hodgson. Logan Evans had a double for AI Dupont


Newark Charter held FSMA to 3 hits behind the pitching of Trey Matthews and David Hawtof. Ben Dewberry had a 2 run HR and Gavin Winegar was 2-2 while Ellis Dorr was 1-2 w 2 rbis and Brett Lesher was 1-2 w an rbi and 2 runs scored to pace Newark Charter to a 10-0 win over First State Military Academy. FSMA's Garrett Weldin was 2-2.


Jarrett Weglarz struck out 6 and scattered 4 hits to earn the 7-3 win for Appoquinimink. Lorenzo Carrier struck out 7 to record the 3-inning save. Javon Fields hit a 3-run home run and scored 2 runs. Tre' Selby and Gabe Dermott had 2 hits each for the Jaguars. Michael Fedorkowicz had 2 hits and Dominic Petrucci hit a home run for DMA.


The Highlanders scattered nine hits in the game for their second win of the season a 4-2 win over the Cougars of Delcastle. Kabatt, Rivera and Ferrara all managed multiple hits for McKean, with Ferrara going 3 for 4. Sensabaugh went 2 for 3 for Delcastle. Ferrara pitched a complete game, surrendering two runs on four hits and striking out seven.


Saint Mark's scratched out 1 run in the first inning and tacked on 2 more in 5th to take 3-0 lead and won 3-2. Middletown answered with 2 in the 6th to make it 3-2 game. The Spartans held onto the lead to finish the game. Eric Ludman contributed 2 hits and an RBI for the Spartans. Jack Dubecq pitched 7 strong innings for the Spartans. Alex Weber and Jacob Walls each contributed 2 hits for the Cavaliers.


Tom Alexander's sacrifice fly in the 5th gave the Auks the go ahead run and Mike Dellose's 6th inning 2 run home run gave the Auks the insurance runs needed to perserve the 9-5 win. Dellose was 4-4 with 6 RBI's. Max Gioffre was 2-3 with 3 runs scored. Josh Maguire scored 2 runs, Zack Gwynn was 2-3 and Connor Murphy drove in 2 runs for Salesianum.


Ryan Insley pitched a complete game shut out giving up 5 hits and striking out 11 to pace William Penn to a 3-0 win over the Vikings of St. Elizabeth. Aaron Jackson went 1 for 1 and scored 2 runs.Nathan Thomas went 2 for 3 for St Elizabeth.


Ted Hughes threw a no hitter, facing one batter over the minimum with 9 k's in the Tower Hill 21-0 win over DAPSS. Dakota Crowley, Mike Gilbert, Bo Anderson, Chad Lopes and Dallas Crowley had multiple hit games for the Hillers

Delmarva Christian watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a shortened 14-0 loss. Von Arx and Rodriguez combined to hold the Royals scoreless, scattering 4 hits. Haddaway connected on a 3 run home run.

Christian Green picked up the 15-0 win for Mount. Carson Fowler, Nick Harkins, Justin Jump, and Andrew Thompson each had multiple hits. John Magee singled for St. Thomas More.

Jake Gelof lead the Viking offense going 3 for 3 with a walk, 3 runs scored and 2 doubles and 2 RBI's to pace Cape Henlopen to a 15-1 win over Seaford. Zach Dale was 2 for 2 with a triple and 2 RBI's also. Sam Johnson and Reese White combined on the 1 hitter over 5 innings. Zach Adams had the lone hit and scored the run for Seaford.

Evan Harris led polytech going 3-3 with a double and a triple as they defeated the Laurel Bulldogs 7-0. Dylan Gros, Mitchell Barter, and Brent Buckson all added doubles. Sophomore Austin Biddle threw four scoreless innings with five strikeouts and scaterring two hits. Trace Hitchens had two hits for Laurel.

Sophmore Kris Medford pitched a complete game allowing only two runs to pick up the 6-2 win for the Indians. Grant Argo singled through the left side to break a 2-2 tie game in the 5th inning. JJ Killen added a two run single in the 6th. Blaine Hansen had two hits for the Golden Knights.

Wyatt Nelson threw a complete six-inning game allowing one run on four hits while striking out eight and walking none. Patrick McKenzie hit a solo home run in the 6th. Cole Opderbeck, Matt Taormina, and Dalton Ramsey each had two hits for the Quakers as they defeated the Warriors of Sanford 11-1. For Sanford, Wall went two-for-two, Citro gunned two would be base stealers, and Valentine struck out three giving up only four earned runs.

JT Tomovich and Brian Gilardi comined to throw a 2 hit shutout to pace St. Marks to a 7-0 win over the Eagles of Smyrna. Shane Lougheed hit a 2 run home run for the Spartans. Nate Ridgeway had 2 hits for the Eagles.

Matt SInko had 2 hits on the day. Matt Phillips hit a 2 run home run. Dom Catalano had 2 run double in the first to pace St. Marks to an 8-2 win over the Raiders of Woodbridge. Josh Venti pitched 6 scoreless innings. tyler Elzey had a hit and a run scored for Woodbridge.

Newark Charter pitchers Sean Kelby, Brett Callahan and Nick Dalton combined to throw a one hitter to pace Newark Charter to an 11-0 win over the Mustangs of Middletown Odessa Charter. Kevin Buglio was 2-2 with 4 rbi's, Sean Kelby was 2-2 with a run, Brett Lesher and Logan Vivian were both 1-1 with 2 rbi's to lead the offense.

Shane Sweeny broke up the no hitter with 2 outs in the 5th for MOT Charter.

Auks Jack Nielsen earned the complete game 4 hit shutout, posting 9 strikeouts to pace the Auks of Archmere to a 5-0 win over the Bucs of Milford. On Archmere Senior Day, Seniors Max Gioffre drove in 2 runs, Emmett Bice hit his first HR of the season, Collin Jensen played flawlessly in the field and Tyler Park was hit by a pitch in the 1st inning. Bryce Greenly had 2 of the Buc's 4 hits on the day.

Nate and Sam Hardcastle had 3 RBI's each to lead Red Lion's offense in an 8-2 win over the Yellowjackets of Newark. Nate was 3-3 with a double and a home run. Sam was 3-4 with a double. Bryce Sterling went the distance on the mound, striking out six to get the win. Nick Zegna was 2-2 with a double and Nicolas Sharpe scored both runs to lead Newark

Justin Brooks and Nathan Thomas combined for a four hit shutout to pace St. Elizabeth to a 2-0 win over the Cavaliers of Middletown. Nathan Thomas had a home run in the fourth inning and Hayden Trimarco added an RBI single for St. Elizabeth. Devin McClendon had an double for Middletown.

DMA- Seahawks pounded out 14 hits including 4 homeruns. Matt Kohan got the 11-1 win recording 5 strikeouts. This is win number 12 for Kohans career. GHS- Vaughn Park had two hits for the Dragons.

Sussex Central rallies back to score 5 runs in the bottom of the seventh to win 6-5 on Trevor Collins 2 RBI single up the middle. Vonny Toppin single in 2 earlier in the inning and Cade Keeler walked scoring another. Jared Atkins earned the victory coming in the 7th with men on 1st and 2nd and nobody out. The left hander was able to get out of the jam giving up zero runs to earn the win. Jake Brewington battled through five innings striking out 6 and only walking one. Eugene Holler pitched well for Salesianum giving up 4 hits in 6 1/3 innings pitched striking out 5. Everyone in the Salesianum line up had atleast one hit while Zach Gwynn, Connor Murphy and Michael Cautillo collected multiple hits.

Carson Fowler and Justin Jump lead Mount on the mound and at the plate as they defeated the Bulldogs of First State Military Academy by an 11-1 score. Fowler had 4 RBI and 3 runs scored. Jump went 2 for 2 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI. Mason Fry had an RBI single and scored a run for FSMA.

Baylen Manocha pitched six innings of shutout baseball for his fifth win of the season to pace St. Andrews to a 14-0 win over the Rams of Dickinson. Jack Lauer, Evan Murray, and Nick Lilley had 2 hits apiece for the Cardinals. Juan Javier had a triple for Dickinson and Colin Richmond reached base twice on a hit and error.

McKean Highlanders scattered ten hits in the game and defeated the Ravens of St. Thomas More 12-0. Taylor, Arriaga, and Kabatt all had multiple hits for McKean. Taylor led McKean with three hits in five at bats. Brandon Ferrara was the winning pitcher for McKean. He allowed zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out five and walking zero. Arriaga and Nolan entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
De’Markus Lee and Matthew Sadusky both had hits for St Thomas More.

Sanford scored three runs in the sixth inning, but Glasgow still won 10-3 on Monday. Sanford batters contributing to the big inning included Isiah Bracey, Matthew Friedkin, and Jack Valentine, all driving in runs in the frame.

Glasgow got things moving in the first inning. The Dragons scored one run when Jalani Thomas doubled.

Glasgow tallied three runs in the fifth inning. The Dragons' big bats were led by Hakeem Bell and Tavion Jones-Hill, both driving in runs in the inning.

Dante Claudio took the win for Glasgow. He allowed four hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking one.

Ethan Citro took the loss for Sanford. He surrendered six runs on seven hits over four innings, striking out four.

Glasgow tallied 13 hits in the game. Daryn Bacon, Thomas, Anthony Lozada, Bell, and Caleb Walker each collected multiple hits for the Dragons. Thomas and Bacon each collected three hits to lead Glasgow.

N Hardcastle led Red Lion Christian Academy with two hits in four at bats

The Patriots Trey Matthews got the win on the mound striking out 9 and allowing 1 run over 6 innings to pace the Patriots of Newark Charter to an 8-2 win over the Eagles of Smyrna. Kevin Buglio was 2-3 with 4 rbi's and hit his 6th homer of the year and Logan Vivian hit his 1st HR, a 2 run shot. Nick Dalton was 2-2.

Logan Strickland hit a solo HR for Smyrna.

Dominic Fernicola went 4 for 5 with 2 triples 2 runs and 4 rbis to pace the William Penn Colonials to a 10-2 win over the Yellowjackets of Newark. Hank Wilkerson pitched a complete game striking out 8 he also went 2 for 4 .
Kyle Blevins went 2 for 3 and score a run for Newark

Joey Silan and Ethan DeRegis led the Caravel offense with each going 2-2 with 2 rbi's as they defeated Conrad 14-0. Cole Reynolds added 2 hits and and 1 rbi. Aaron Holiday and Tyler Croce each had a hit and 2 rbi. Jackson Hanson and Max Awtry had hits for Conrad.

Nick Lilley pitched four innings of shut out baseball striking out five while walking two for his third win of the season to pace St. Andrews to a 10-0 win over the Highlanders of McKean. Evan Murray had two hit and scored twice. Rick Townsend had two hits and a sacrifice fly driving in four runs. Jim Arriaga, Brandon Ferrara, and Zach Miller all had hits for McKean.

The Indians exploded in the first inning with 8 runs on 5 home runs as they defeated the Riders of Caesar Rodney 20-5. Kyle Firle drove in 6 runs for the Indians, while Jacob Anderson homered twice. Grant Argo was 4-4 and added a homerun. Jackson Rall was 3-3 with a home run for the Riders.

Zack Gelof threw 5 innings with 8 K's and hit a 2 RBI triple to help himself earn the 10-3 win. Austin Elliott was 2 for 3 with a homerun and 3 RBI's and Mason Fluharty added a pair of hits as well to lead the Vikings offense. Hunter VonArx had a pair of hits and a run and Christian Pierson hit a solo homerun for Delmar.

Sussex Tech Matt Warrington pitched 7 strong innings with 9 strikeouts to pick up the 8-3 conference win
against Dover. The Ravens rallied with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th behind Matt Warrington's RBI double. Robert Locklear and Jason Shockley each had 3 hits for Ravens offense. Dover's Dominic Velazquez, Hiram Davis and Alec Rodriguez each had two hits for the Senators.

Evan Harris pitched Polytech to the northern conference 13-3 win. Dylan Gros had a homerun going 4-4. Austin Biddle went 4-4 with 3 rbis and Alex Pingatore was 2-4 with 3 rbi's. Blaine Hansen went 2-2 with a homerun for Sussex Central.

Tyler DeFord picked up his fourth win of the season, scattering three hits over six innings while striking out four. paced the Woodbridge Blue Raiders to a 12-2 win over the Lake Forest Spartans. The Woodbridge offense exploded for 12 runs in the 5th and 6th innings, including a combined 5 XBH. Regan Ogden had a big day at the dish for the Blue Raiders going 2-4 with 3 RBI.

Chad Reichold earned the win 10-0 striking out 6. Reichold also had 3 hits and 5 RBI. Dominic Robles and Zach Winckoski had 2 hits each for Milford. Jacob Waldridge had a hit and a stolen base for Seaford.

Will Davis went 5-for-5 with a double and four RBI and Evan Arai recorded two hits and three RBI as three Quaker pitchers (Mullen, Patrick McKenzie, and Tristan Pantano) combined for a five-inning no-hitter as they defeated the Hornets of Tatnall by a 14-0 score. Carl Marvin pitched four-and-a-third for Tatnall striking out two.

Xander Emberger went 2-4 at the plate and struck out 6 in pitching a complete game win 6-0 for Red Lion. Austin Prior, Sam Hardastle and Henry Lieske also had multiple hits. Michael Gilbert and Kyle Motley had multi-hit games for Tower Hill.

Tre'Zhan Selby hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead Appoquinimink over Hodgson 7-5. Gabe Dermott hit an RBI double to tie the game in the seventh, after Krew Bouldin singled and was bunted to second by Jarrett Weglarz. Weglarz earned the win after throwing 3 innings in relief, and Lorenzo Carrier hit a 2-run triple for the Jaguars. Ryan Speed and Donald Weaver had two hits each for Hodgson.

Carson Fowler picked up the 6-0 win throwing a complete game shutout with 8 k’s. In the first inning, Garrett Hillsgrove had an RBI single, followed by Christian Green’s 2 RBI double. Joseph Orsini pitched well for AI, and went 2 for 3 at the plate.

Micheal Waterfield drove in the only run of the game when Micheal Pagliei scored on a ground out to pace Brandywine to a 1-0 win over Glasgow. Gavin Lambert and Brandon Karpiski each had two hits for the Bulldogs. Josh Niemann went 6 2/3 innings giving up four hits and striking out seven. Anthony Lozado pitched 6 storng innings scattered 8 hits and striking out 6 taking the loss. Gavin Lambert got the save.

The Hawks completed conference play with a 6-5 victory over Concord. Joey Bailey led the Hawks' offense with three hits, and RBI, and run scored. Brandon Bradford drove into two runs with his double. Noah Finocchiaro added two hits while picking up his sixth win of the year. Johnny Ford and Brian Downey each had two hits for Concord while Nick Welch drove in two runs.

In the bottom of the 1st, Sussex Tech's Jason Genshaw scored on a sac fly by Brayden Graham. Salesianum answered in the top of the 4th with a 2 run HR by Anthony Fechette as they defeated the Ravens of Sussex Tech 2-1. This game was a classic pitching duel, dominated by Tech’s Brady Parks and Sallies’ Jonathan Barker who each ended the day with 5Ks and 2BB.

Baseball


In a hard fought rivalry game, Seaford scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th for the comeback 10-9 win. Tyler Harris, Zach Adams, and Christian Chandler all had multiple hits for the Blue Jays. Jacob Waldridge added a walk off 2 run double. Aaron Burtelle picked up the win going 5 strong innings in relief. For Laurel, Dalton Perdue had 3 hits including a homerun, and Jose Borerro added 3 hits.


Dylan Craig went 2 for 2 with a double, homerun and 3 RBIs. Alex Zhu scattered 7 hits over 6 innings on the mound to earn the 7-1 win. Chad Lopes had 2 hits for the Hillers.


For the Flight B Championship, Carson Fowler threw five innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits to pick up the MP 6-3 victory. In the 4th inning, Garrett Hillsgrove opened up the scoring with a 2 RBI double. Stefan Haroldsson, Christian Miller and Nick Harkins each had 2 hits for Mount. Aidan Lambert had 2 hits and an RBI for Brandywine.


Highlights:

Josh Venti pitched three innings of scoreless no hit baseball for the Spartans striking out 7 batters. Brian Gilardi, Eric Ludman, and Joey Lungen each contributed two hits for the Spartans of St. Marks as they defeated the Vikings of Cape Henlopen 9-7. Zach Dale had a 3 RBI triple for the Vikings.


William Penn plated four runs in the 6th to break open a 2-1 game and won by a 6-1 score. Dylan Gyrgo went 2-3 with an RBI, and Hank Wilkerson went 2-4 at the plate while also striking out 2 over four innings to earn the win. Dylan Layton struck out eight in five and a third innings of work, and Brock Keeler had an RBI triple in the first.


Archmere scored three runs to break open the game in the fifth inning and won by a 4-1 score. Michael Mallamaci had two hits to lead the Auks.


Newark Charter's David Hawtof earned his first win on the mound going 3.1 innings w 4k's as they defeated the Cougars of Delcastle by a 2-1 score. Brett Callahan got the save over 3 innings of relief with no runs and 4k's. Sean Kelby had 3 hits and Hayden Harach had two hits for N.Charter. Delcastle's Jordan Hastings pitched great allowing on 1 run in 7 innings. Jason Ryan and Christian Ortega had a hit for the Cougars.


Krew Bouldin, Lorenzo Carrier and Mason Keene combined to strike out 9 hitters, allowing only 1 hit, in the 6-0 shut out victory for Appoquinimink over Woodbridge. Javon Fields had 3 hits, and Brandon Hoffman and Jared Kukawski had 2 hits each for the Jaguars.


Ethan DeRegis singled in Kevin Keister in the top of the first inning for Caravel as they defeated the Cavaliers of Middletown by a 4-2 score. Keister then singled and drove in Tommy Tracy in the 5th. Jake Hoffman hit a solo homerun in the 6th. Connor Wooten had a single and 2 rbi in the bottom of the 7th for Middletown.


Matthew Friedkin pitched a 3-hit shutout to earn the 10-0 win for Sanford over First State Military Academy. Ethan Citro and Isaiah Bracey each had 3 hits. Jack Valentine and Matthew Friedkin each had two hits for Sanford.


Jacob Anderson had 2 hits and 2 rbi and Tyler Kramer also had 2 hits to lead the Indian offense as they defeated Lake Forest 8-6. Brock Wingate contributed 2 rbi as well. For the Spartans, Nate McGray had 3 hits and 3 rbi to lead Lake. Gabe Martin, Jaden Rivera, Tyler Chalmers, and Coleman Morris each had two hits for the Spartans.


Dover's Dominic Velazquez pitched 6 plus innings with 8 strikeouts to pickup the non-conference 9-2 win over DMA. Alec Rodriguez was 3 for 5 with 3RBI with a homerun and Noah Lanouette had 3 run homerun to lead the Dover offense. Dominic Petrucci had 2 RBI double for DMA.
 
Baseball 5-22-18


After 2 hits in the 2nd, Derek Pusey pitched 4.1 innings of no hit ball to shut down Lake Forest and pick up the win for Red Lion. Tied 3-3 in the 7th, Noah Dahllof drew a lead-off walk and was pushed to second by Xander Emberger's sacrifice bunt. With Ethan Phillips up, he advanced to 3rd on a wild pitch and scored on Phillips sacrifice fly and won 4-3. For Lake Forest Jaden Rivera was 1-3 with a double and Jordan Farlow struck out 4 over 6 innings.


Brandon Karpinski went 4 for 4. Michael Waterfield and Michael Pagliei each hit 2 run homers in the first inning. Justin Ford added a solo HR in the seventh to pace Brandywine to a 10-7 win over Sussex Academy.
 
2018 DIAA State Baseball Tournament News 5-26-18 2nd Round

Alexander Weber paced the Middletown offense with a 3-4 4 RBI day including 2 doubles as they defeated the Riders of Caesar Rodney by a 10-3 score. Jake Walls, Mitchell Jolikko, and Luke Wootten also had multiple hit days for the Cavs. David Keane, Cole Dunn, and Jake Walls scattered 6 hits and struck out 12 over 7 innings of combined work on the mound, while Keane got the Win. Mason Brewer went 2-3 with 2 doubles for CR.

Matthew Kohan pitched a three hit shutout for his 13th career win which ties the DMA record as they defeated the Royals of Delmarva Christian by a 4-0 score. Dominic Petrucci and Colin Smith both homered. Zach McCloskey also had two hits for the Seahawks. DMC- Wesley Hobbs, Andrew Workman, and Benjamin Hobbs each had a hit for Royals.

Dover's Hiram Davis pitched 6 innings with 8 strikeouts for the DIAA state tournament 7-4 victory over IR. Dover offense scored 5 runs in the 1st inning with RBI singles from Chris Dabney, Andrew Carney and Nathan Turner had 2RBI double to get the Senators on top. Mike Carrington reached base all four times with 3 hits and collected the save at the end of the game. IR's Anderson, Smith and Killen all had 3 hits each for the IR offense.

Marshall Awtry threw 6 strong innings striking out 11 as Conrad defeated Delmar 7-5. Jeremy Coleman earned the save in relief. Matt Rodriguez, Christian Pierson, and Jordan Haddaway homered for Delmar.

Newark Charter took the lead late and held on to defeat Archmere 12-9.Trailing 8-9 in the top of the 6th Brett Lesher doubled to score two runs to take the lead 10-9. Logan Vivian led the Patriots going 3-4 with 4 rbis, including a 3 run homer and solo HR. Sean Kelby also homered and was 3-5 and pitched the final 2 innings for the save. Ryan Walsh was 2-3 and John Ueltzhoffer had a hit and 2 runs scored, Nick Dalton had a hit and 2 rbis.
The Auks Thomas Alexander was 2-3 with a HR and 2 rbis. Max Gioffre tripled to tie the game at 8 and scored to take the lead 9-8 in the bottom of the 5th. Gioffre had 3 rbis.

Quarter Final Baseball Round of DIAA Tourney

5-30-18

In a great game, Zach Dale hit a hard line drive to score Timmy Vitella with the walk-off run to pace Cape Henlopen to a 6-5 win over the Jaguars of Appoquinimink. Jackson Ostroski came in to pinch hit in the 8th and hit a single to start the inning. Austin Elliott came in to throw in relief and picked up the win striking out 6 over 2 2/3 innings. Mason Fluharty was 3 for 4 and Zack Gelof was 2 for 3 for the Vikings to round out the offensive attack. Appoquinimink was led by Jarrett Weglarz with a double, RBI, and a walk.

Caravel defeated St. Georges 6-5 on Wednesday thanks to a walk-off single by Aaron Holiday in the bottom of the 9th. St. Georges took the early lead scoring three runs in the first inning on a home run by Aiden Riley. The Bucs knotted the game up at five in the bottom of the seventh inning, when Joey Silan doubled with 2 outs and knocked in Brad Kaden. Silan earned the victory on the mound pitching 3 innings of relief. He allowed zero runs on one hit, striking out two and walking one. Kevin Keister and Aaron Holiday had 2 hits a piece for Caravel. Holiday, Silan and David Preziuso each had 2 rbi. Aiden Riley had 2 hits and 3 rbi for the Hawks. Joey Rinarelli, Troy Atkins, and Brandon Bradford also had 2 hits each for St. Georges.

Jack Dubecq pitched a complete game allowing 3 hits while striking out 7 batters to pace St. Marks to a 4-1 win over the Silver Eagles of Hodgson. Austin Warrington and JT Tomovich had key RBI hits for the Spartans. Brian Gilardi added 2 hits. Shawn Haut had 2 hits for the Silver-Eagles.

Dover's Joseph Gray stole home for the game winning run in the top of the 9th to give Dover the win over Sallies in the quarterfinals of the DIAA tourney. Hiram Davis pitched 6 plus scoreless innings to help Dover stay in the game and Dominic Velazquez came in to close the door. Sallies Anthony Frechette had 2 RBI for Sals offense.

Semi final round
Kevin Keister pitched 5 strong innings giving up 2 runs with 5 k's to earn the 10-6 win. Michael Summerfield's 3 rbi double in the 2nd inning gave Caravel the early lead. Brad Kaden added to it with a 2 rbi triple in the fourth. Richard Gannett, Matthew Phillips, Justin Tomovich, and Joseph Lungen all had 2 hits a piece for St. Mark's.

In a 10 inning thiller of a game the Vikings scored 2 runs in the bottom half of the 10th to take the 6-5 victory over Dover in this state tournament semi-final game. Dover's starting pitcher was solid early but the Viking batters got to Carrington to take the lead in the 5th. Dover scored it in the 7th, took the lead in the 10th before the Vikings Jake Gelof earned the victory on the mound and drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th. Gelof was also 4 for 6 with 2 RBI's at the plate for the Vikings. Zack Gelof and Mason Fluharty were also 2 for 4 each and Fluharty had 3 RBI's and a walk. Dover was led at the plate by Alec Rodriguez going 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's including a clutch single in the top of the 7th to keep the game alive for Dover.

6-4-18

For the first time in their school history, the Vikings of Cape Henlopen made history as they defeated the Bucs of Caravel Academy by a 5-3 score. Behind winning pitcher David Erickson's 6 2/3 innings along with Jake Gelof's 2 rbi single and teammate Austin Elliot RBI single. Cape became the first Henlopen Conference School to win a state baseball title since 1993 when Seaford won.
