Laurel knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the fifth inning when Carlie Venables hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run. Caravel pulled away in the top of the sixth when Kendall Browne singled scoring the go ahead run. Leila Rocke (2/2) and Morgan Moxley (2/3) each had multiple hits for Caravel. Jessica Walter struck out seven batters for Caravel while giving up five hits.
Laurel's Couri Smith (2/3) had multiple hits for Laurel while Mackenzie Whaley went 1/2. Kylee Hill went the distance in the circle for Laurel spreading out eight hits over seven innings.

Highlights:In a pitching dual, Alexis Dowdy went 7 innings, allowing 6 hits, and 3 runs (2 earned) while striking out 12 for Dover. Madelyn Pritchard also went the distance for William Penn, allowing 3 hits and 2 unearned runs while striking out 10. Madison Perry hit a 2 run home run in the seventh inning to give Penn the cushion needed to secure the win. Pritchard had two hits (double and triple) for the Colonials. |
