St Marks @ Archmere GAME OF THE WEEK. #1 ranked St Marks (4-0) takes on #3 ranked Archmere (4-0). Will Deely be dealing, will Billy dealing??? Great pitchers duel??? I think both teams have proven they are deeper than just their ace pitchers. For St Marks, Phillips and Spagnolo both are 2-0 with big wins. Hitting, Disabitino has homered the last two games including a grand slam. St Marks has homered in 3 of the 4 games. St Marks has beaten 3 top 20 teams in St E, Hodgson, CR as well as IR. Archmere hasn't had as tough a schedule, but beating Mtown big, shutting out WP & Conrad and beating a decent a Poly team wasn't an easy schedule. Deely & Voge have both pitched twice. Voge is 2-0 with two shutouts (3 hitter against WP, 4 hitter against Conrad). Deely is 1-0 with two good outings against Mtown and Poly. Deely, Signora, Voge & Mcvey and company have been pounding out the hits for Archmere as the team has 39 hits in 4 games.
Charter @ Mtown. This is a big game for both teams and flight A. Charter is 4-0, already picking up two wins in the conference against Newark (close 5-4 game & Glasgow (8-1, took 7 runs in 7th inning to win). In addition they smacked round Bwine & beat St E. They are led in hitting by Baker, Buckery and Harris. But Thus far they haven't been tested by a strong team. Middletown (3-2) has been up and down. They barely beat Dickinson, but beat Ai and Concord. They have gotten beat bad by a very good Archmere team and lost to Wm Penn 2-1. One of these teams will get their third conference win.
DMA @ St Georges. DMA has started the season 4-0 putting up 43 runs but against the likes of Delcastle, DPPS, St Thomas More and Glasgow. DMA has Henderson & Brittingham at 2-0 pitching. Henderson has thrown a 1 hitter and a no hitter. Hill and Serafin lead the hitting for DMA. Hill has 9 hits over the past 3 games. St Georges is 3-1 with a come from behind win against Conrad 6-2 as well as wins against Chrisitiana & Delcastle but lost to Hodgson in Stenta Cup championship two days ago. Adams, Mcgrath, Feehery & the Gilberts lead the hitting for St Georges.
Delmar @ Dover. Two undefeated teams battle for the south. Delmar is 5-0 with wins over Appo, IR, Milford, Cape & Delmarva Chr. None of their 5 opponents are ranked in the top 15, so this game against Dover will obviously be their biggest test of the season. Chase Harding (3-0 on the mound) and Nate Smith (2-0 on the mound) lead the hitting and pitching on this team. Dover is ranked #4 in the state at 4-0 with big wins over Delmarva Chr, IR, Wood & Cape, all of which aren't ranked in the top 15 in the state. Their offense has scored a blistering 56 runs in 4 games. On the mound, Lawson & Willey combined for a perfect game in the first outing of the year while Cullen & Spadafino have pitched well also. Graham, Hutchins, Thomas & Spadafino lead the hitting for Dover.
