KEY GAMES TO SEE THIS WEEKEND:

#2 Hodgson vs. #4 Middletown
In what could possibly be the game of the week, and possibly for the Blue Hen title despite being only Week Three, The Cavaliers will travel north on 896 to take on the Silver Eagles who has displayed dominance since their week one tilt over then ranked #3 Dover. Hodgson has outscored its opponents so far 84-21, and against teams that’s ranked in the Top 10 in just about every poll you look at. Not to be outdone, Middletown has outscored theirs 50-6. It would be safe to say that both teams can score points, and both teams can prevent them, the difference maker this go around (Last Season Hodgson won 14-7) will be the quarterback play. Hodgson will field one that is no stranger from making plays or scoring points, and just might be the best quarterback in the state of Delaware, CJ Henry. Henry has lost some talent around him, but Coach Moffets next man up philosophy has worked wonders as the Eagles has yet to slow down, averaging 434 yards of offense a game, and to think that the defense has slowed down any would be blasphemy, as they have recorded 7 sacks, and 3 interceptions just in two games. Defense, however is something Middletown has been known for, for a while now and in just two games the Cavaliers have 8 interceptions and 4 forced fumbles. Middletown will have to yield a stout defensive effort once again if they wish to slow down this high powered Hodgson attack. The highly anticipated debut of Braden Davis didn’t last long, as he suffered an injury against Smyrna having back up Colby Chambers step in, which managed to lead the team against Smyrna, and then helping his team to a 33-0 win over Concord just last week. Its going to take a strong effort for either team to come away with a win this week, it wont be as easy as the last two, but we should expect a good game.
HS PICK: Hodgson 28 Middletown 21

#5 Appoqinimink vs. #1 Salesianum
As intriguing as the previous game could be, this one is just as much if not more. In the first ever meeting between these two programs, Appo and Sallies looks to keep their season rolling high after starting 2-0. Last week Dover gave Salesianum all it could handle, going into halftime down 21-20, but as any Dinardo coached team does, they made the adjustments, and played power, bruising football, to wear the Dover defense down to later go on and win 42-20. Appo on the other hand has started in a fashion that they aren’t usually known for, a whole lot of points, and not many given up. The Jags have outscored their opponents 75-7, and with two possible AllState linebackers in EJ Brister and Josh Parson. Those two combined may form one of the most fearsome duos in the state and could give Sallies running backs Watkins, and Marro some fits. Not so Fast! (Lee Corso voice)The Sals offensive line which may be touted as the best in the state from Left to Right tackle will have a lot to say about that. On paper this looks like it could be a hard fought win for either team, but Sallies features one of the most complete teams and will find a way to score more than just the 7 points that Appo has surrendered.
HS PICK: Salesianum 42 Appoquinimink 20

OTHER KEY GAMES TO SEE:
#3 Sussex Central @ #8 Smyrna
Milford vs. Cape Henlopen
William Penn vs. Sussex Tech

Could MILF surprise after all the whining about being forced into D1 and finish top 3 and get in? How fun would that be? Tech, Dover and Smyrna all look shaky..Central seems to be in control,, I have no idea how good MILF is or not but the door is open
