Fraley pitched the whole game for Caravel had 16ks and allowed 2 hits.

9th grader Dorr pitched for NCS and allowed 3 hits.

Game winning run scored in the 6th on a balk. NCS left a runner on third in the 7th.

WOW. Thats an awesome showing for NCS. Freshman and Sophomores, in their first season, holding their own with Sallies and Caravel. A little more experience and those ALMOSTS will turn into wins for sure.

I really think that the coaching staff does it right. Positive re-enforcement. Always teaching. No screaming in the dugout. No one afraid to play. Kids know where they stand what they need to do. Mistakes happen. Do your best. They all get better. Not about the coaches. All about the kids, team, school and parents. One of the perennial top teams staff (not Caravel)could learn from these guys.

Oldtimer22....that sounds like a perfect mantra for youth/high school baseball !!!!! Only thing i would add to it is to have fun and play the game right. (and i'm sure you would agree). Baseball is a great game.
