Nice job Gate, thanks for the update and thanks for the time consuming effort.....

16-17 winner gets the top seed.

9-24 winner plays #8
10-23 winner plays #7
11-22 winner plays #6
12-21 winner plays #5
13-20 winner plays #4
14-19 winner plays #3
15-18 winner plays #2
16-17 winner plays #1

They'll probably end up higher than that - they've got St. Mark's, St. E and Sanford left so that's at least 6 points right there. If they beat either St. E/Sanford or both, a bye is in play for them.

Question here: Dos the committee seed strictly on point system, or is there some subjective reasoning applied? Point is, if #16 Ursuline wins 1st game, they get Caravel. Its better than a 50/50 bet Ursuline could upset Caravel. This would severely weaken the tournament. Maybe some manipulation by the committee so that the "better" teams don't face each other until later in th tournament. Not a suggestion, but a question on policy and procedure.

There's no re-seeding unfortunately - the seedings stay they way they are right up through the title game. Ursuline's not going to stay at 16, but I can guarantee regardless where they are, they're winning a second round game on somebody's home floor.

I was trying to look at point totals and there is a very good possibility that Caravel could lose to Sanford and still finish ahead of them in the seeding. Sanford’s conference is hurting big time. Sussex Tech could possibly get a 4,5,or 6 seed and they have played a very week schedule. Also, a very likely chance that St. E’s and Archmere may be ahead of Ursuline in the seedlings. Ursuline lost by 8 to St. E’s & beat them by 13 last night. Ursuline also beat Archmere by 30 early in the season. This whole state tournament need to be revamped.

Ursuline jumped a couple of spots with the win over St. E last night and still have a winnable game against St. Mark's and another 2 points coming vs. Sanford to end the season, so they might be 9-10 with a top 10-12 seed and they've earned it with that schedule, no questions asked.

I'll wait until Saturday night/Sunday morning to update this thread because of course, gotta see what the out of state opponents have done.

I agree that they need to revisit how they seed the teams for the tournament. Some schools can pick who they play and others have to play certain teams not once but twice.
