Now correct me if I'm wrong but, weren't there new rules/standards put in place that disqualifies players from participating in the B-G game based on behaviors exhibited during the regular season on the field (and in school)? If so, what are some of those behaviors that can instantly get you nixed from participating in the game???

Speaking of which where are the rosters for this year? They usually come out mid January.. whats the hold up?
From the DFRC website:
"Players are nominated by their own high school Head Football Coach, and then approved by their school's Athletic Director and Principal through a character verification process. All-State or All-Conference athletes are not automatically selected to play in the Blue-Gold Game. All players nominated must meet Blue-Gold character standards. "
That is pretty much all they talk about with regards to the vetting process. Here is the email address in case you want to ask them directly info@dfrc.org
This has always been the policy but schools have become lax in the vetting process. The way things are today I doubt the school wants to deal with the parent of a good player who is told he can't play in the game and not nominate them..
I believe what swag is talking about after last years incident the DFRC has asked the Coaches, AD's and Principles to take the vetting process more seriously. I do know there were some good ,even all state players that Caravel didn't nominate do to character in the past. There is other examples too, Last year Sallies had a lineman that was on the roster when it came out but did something between then and the game , dont know what , but it got him booted from the squad..

So if you are kicked out of a game for unsportsmanlike conduct would that knock you out of the B&G game?

In all seriousness the DFRC doesn't have that information or the resources to investigate the players nominated. They rely on the schools admin to vet the players for character. So there is a lot of truth in what Soccer said

Hopefully no more fights in these Blue/Gold Games. Kids loose focus on what the game is really about
