2019 All Conference selections

I would tell kids all the time keep you head up All Conference and All state voting can be very political. It’s usually 2-3 each year. Some of closer and have valid reasoning but Blue Hen Coach you have to do better. How does a kid with 85 car 726 yds 9 TDs and 16 rec 348 yds 4 TDs make 1st team all conference WR over a kid with 47 rec 958 yds 13 TDs (which appears to be most rec yds in the state).
With those stats just have 3 RBs on first team and 2 WRs or create a 1st team Athlete spot like I believe the Diamond conference did one season with Allyene but don’t disrespect a kid like that.... SMH!!!

Flight B All-Conference is always a mess... The good teams always get the 1st teamers that is pretty normal hence AI and Howard selections. , Based on the lists it looks like half the Fight B coaches even bothered to send in ballots and those that did sent incomplete ones in.. Just look at WR they couldn't even fill the 9 spots. Only 6 WR's even got any votes (yeah I know the one your mentioning is a RB but probably plays WR if they run spread or something)
Only 4 Flight B teams even bother to post stats on Max (AI, McKean, Howard and Brandywine) so I am sure the coaches from Newark, Glasgow, Christiana, Dickinson don't even bother looking at Max that is if they even send in a ballot.
As for Max Preps coaches may look at them but many don't believe they are always legit. I mean when you have a kid with 15 solo tackles and 90 assists for 105 total tackles that sends up some red flags lol
The other thing about high school stats is kids on very good teams involved in allot of blowouts only play half games and kids on other teams play the whole game hence more opportunities to post stats..Then there are coaches who leave their star in longer in blow outs to pump stats.. also a kid on a very good defensive team that gets a lot of 3 and outs will have less opportunities than a kid on a team when the D is on the field all day..
I am not making excuses for anyone or anything just high school stats have to be taken with a grain of salt.. Many times its a parent keeping stats and loading on maxpreps..
It really comes down to name recognition that being said the player your referring to is a Soph who did put up great numbers I am sure next year he will get his just desserts as his name will be out there.
Furthermore I wouldn't put much concern into all conference selections they can be more political than any of the others..
Case in point Smyrna QB Henderson once got 2nd team all conference to another QB but ended up 1st team All State and the other QB was 2nd team all state,, I kid you not

It is Andrew DeBenedictis-Bayne and he is a Senior (12).

Daddy Ball doesn't go away in High School. The kids with Parents who work at the school or whose dad is friends with one or more of the coaches get nominated over more deserving players all the time.
Your wrong bud. Fry wasn't even in Henderson's conference. It was a kid from Dover
848 you got it.. He is still at Towson will be RS Senior next year. Back up QB hasn't played much but might get some burn next year if he can win the #2 spot. Might even beat out Stover who knows ... Would have been #2 this year if Flacco didn't transfer in from Rutgers last year.. bad luck

Triston was the starter before Flacco but got hurt in the teams pre-season scrimmage. Then Flacco came in and did Flacco type things that was the end of Triston.
But anyway those meetings are jokes, kids who deserve it get left off and kids who dont get put on. It is what it is
