Sals got severely outcoached that second half and Sals penalties and unsportsmanlikes finally bit them in the ass

Very impressed with MT QB Cunningham he has played a very good and gutsy game...

302 had a lot of poor filming throughout the year. Seems like as they've grown their coverage has gotten worse.

P0
one team felt entitled to it and the other team wanted it more.. and took it
Bib, I was trying to express that a few times this year. Forget winning for a minute. This was a team that was highly unliked by many Sals alums. Never thought I’d see an actual disinterest in the program. If they were as disciplined as Malvern, they might be a joy to watch.

I am glad UB pointed this out as I have said it several times over the last two years that Sallies has lowered their standards and now brings in athletes that do no match their overall philosophy. All the penalties, especially unsportsmanlike, over the last two years is pretty good evidence. These are the students that are not held accountable during the school day and certainly aren't held accountable after school on the field. I have enough insider info to know this has been happening for several years now with regard to discipline during the day. Good for Middletown to avoid all the rat poison in the media and just go win it on the field.

Two unsportsmanlike penalties ON THE SAME PLAY last night tells you everything you need to know

"Salesianum severely outcoached in 2nd half", "Alum doesn't like this team", "undisciplined", where do you guys come up with this nonsense?
GDD and this staff has been outstanding these past 2 years. I'll take a "Sal's get stunned" headline rather than them being a punching bag for Middletown and Smyrna any day.
I for one an an Alum that loved watching GDD and this team improve weekly and while dejected by the loss look forward to GDD and team in year 3.
Two half's, Middletown's stars looked good in the 2nd , some questionable flags certainly helped momentum, but in the end the QB-Pope connection did it while Sal's QB had the unfortunate pick, but GDD stuck with him and I give him a lot of credit for that.

"But GDD stuck with him...". According to the NJ, the QB was practically the second coming. Not much of a stretch to stick with the only option you have.

OK, let me get my two cents in. I'm an alum and not one of those who highly unlike this team. They have come a long way from the days of "The Slowsky's" as some have put it and I like it. If last night proved anything it is that you must keep playing . MT did just that and got a well deserved, thrilling win. Finally, wouldn't it be nice if the Tourney organizers presented a ceremonial trophy with the winners name engraved on it that could be passed on to other winners in the future, a high school version of the Stanley Cup. It would be a lot nicer than a cheap walnut plaque and would save some trees.

Agreed 100%. So with all the noise about recruiting, scholarships, private vs public, Catholics vs convicts, upstate vs downstate, etc.. in the end it’s 11 v 11 on O, D, Special Teams and of course other factors ( Coaching, Penalties). This is just not special to football. Final analysis: This was the a classic “ tale of two halves”. The Cavs sensed that after half time. Took care of the football, more disciplined with minimal penalties, kept their composure, ball control, solid on defensive, gutsy performance by their Q, big plays by their receivers. I’m not a big fan of the, “ they deserve to win” philosophy. You earn the W. Cavs earned that win. Congrats!
