4-PACK CHALLENGE

For anyone interested, I am going to try a 4-pack challenge for entertainment purposes only.
Here's how it works -

There are 14 teams in the Delaware high school football playoffs. You pick 4 teams. Each time one of your teams win . . you get the points equal to that team's seeding.

In other words, if you pick Friends (8)... you receive 8 points each time they win a tournament game.Obviously, some strategy involved as a couple DI teams have byes. Also, selecting a 1 seed will not earn you as many points.

Thanks to BIB for instituting the confidence pool this year. Good stuff. A chance for the also-rans like myself to best Titanium in this 4-pack challenge.

All selections must be in by 7pm on Friday Nov 15. Reminder. Your 4-pack of teams is for the entire tourney. We will not pick each week.

I suspect if allot of folks play quite a few will have the same 4... Is there a tiebreaker? like championship game final score or championship score total or something like that?

Interesting challenge. I would make one small change to it though. Multiply the points received by the round number, otherwise it makes no sense to pick the 1 or 2 seeds in either division.

For instance, picking Woodbridge and having them win all their games would give you 6 points, which would be the same as picking Caravel and getting 6 from just their first round game.

Picking HVT would give you at max 2 points, half of what Central winning their first round game gives.

I would also give points to the top two ranked teams in D1 for the first round, or it makes even less sense to pick them.

Cant really offer any prizes . . so probably not gonna have a tiebreaker. Again there is some strategy involved. Do you go with 2 seed Delmar to get you multiple wins? 3 seed Smyrna to get you a total of nine? I agree most likely a lot of Caravel and Howard selections. Let's see how it plays out.

I was either going to win or lose the contest in the first round, but alas Friends and the Sallies let me down. Not a big surprise.
