Not so sure how accurate the standings are though.. pretty sure CA lost 4 (HVT,DMA,Dover and Smyrna)

Interesting... don’t the site coordinators call in the results of the games played each week ?

Thats the way it is supposed to work.. I noticed the discrepancy after CA was 2-2 .. then played Dover and lost and got FFT win vs lake.. they should have been 3-3 but the standings had them at 4-2..... fyi.. the standings I posted on here after week 3 I made the adjustments to CA its not what the website had.. I figured someone would have them fixed at some point..

It would be nice. A lot of Delaware teams duck and dodge them for reasons unknown to me, but clearly some hearts are pumping Kool-Aid whenever a visit to Bob Peoples' Stadium is brought up.

Some are ducking and dodging but it isn't from outright fear of Caravel but rather rivalries being built and strategically scheduling for playoffs.

Caravel and St. Marks are the Sallies of D2 but Caravel doesn't have the rivalries or relationships. Most D1 schools will rather play a D2 they believe they should beat and get 4pts than lose to Sallies and get 1. Likewise D2 schools woould rather play a D1 school and lose to get 1 pt than lose to Caravel and get 0. Sallies and Caravel are the last teams on peoples radar when scheduling games because they are a private school that is usually well coached and the influx of kids is very sporadic (as we saw a couple of years ago when Caravel when 3-6 got some kids in and then went 7-3 and a game from the states).

DSC hurt Caravel even more because that allowed DMA, Conrad, Archmere get 5 games, with 2 usually cupcake wins against FSMA and Red Lion plus a third with against Charter that will get them 6 points instead of 4. So everyone in D2 now has to play the number games, so you will see more teams now pushing to play D2 cupcakes or lower D1 schools.

Heard Diamond State wants(ed) Caravel to join but Caravel said no. That will give them 6 games per year and likely allow DSC to get an auto bid.

Let St. Marks or even St. E's start really winning in D2 they will have an issue as well.

Very true. It all sucks, especially because the Diamond State and the Silk Panty league really get away with some abhorrent scheduling while Caravel has to take out of state randoms.

I haven't heard anything about CA being asked to join the DSC but if they were and declined I suspect it would not be because of football but some of the other sports most likely the women's sports or baseball

Caravel joining the Diamond State would be a serious step back for them in every other sport. The girls' basketball team is always a championship contender as are softball, baseball and both soccer squads. The only other signature programs in the DSC other than DMA football are Archmere volleyball and Charter soccer.

True Gate.. the only sport Caravel really has any trouble scheduling for is football.. Baseball likes to schedule and play the out of state competition
