F-ing horrible! turnovers/ penalties unreal!! MT will never win a big game with #2 @ QB, RB's weren't much better with 3 fumbles. MT better figure it out soon or post season looking dim! Hard to sit and watch!

Well said, I think MDP really has the blinders on, the Freshman # 8 is already better than the turnover machine, everyone in Middletown already knows that. Is a shame, their defense plays their hearts out.

The young man was good enough to take his team to the D1 state championship game last year. Like any quality student athlete he will learn from last night's struggles.

QB must have caused 3-4 fumbles on snaps alone, while he recovered most of them those plays were costly and set MT back each time, sure the Center has some part of this but your senior QB has to correct those exchanges during the game, that did not happen

What it seems he does not learn is to walk off the field after a mistake like he cares, instead of pouting, his body language after each of the turnovers told the story each and every time. they turned the ball over five times and if they were able to score in the 4th quarter would have actually been within one score, that is because the defense kept them in the game. Sallies started drives on the Middletown side of the field how many times last night, once from the 2. If you were at the William Penn game you will remember a sequence when we were forced to punt and the coach could not find the punter, #14 lined up and punted and it ended up being a 10 yard punt, can i give you a hint on who that was? Penn took over on the Middletown 25 and scored in a few plays. You know as well as i do, a team will not win with that type of behavior and it will not stop if there is no consequence for it.

I believe the defense took them to the state championship game last year with all due respect and i would ask you to check the turnover numbers in both WP games and the Sallies game last year. As much as I hate to say this unless the stars align perfectly like last year they will NOT return to the state championship game this year with that type of QB play!! He continues to make the same mistakes and I know the coach is more to blame than the kid, but he is a senior and he must be partly accountable since he does touch the ball on every play.

Why don't you go tell him to his face tough guy. Hiding behind a screen name criticizing a kid. You ever play QB?

Not a fan of seeing kids get called out on a message board. Coaches are fair game. Players should be off limits.

I am not a Middletown Fan. But I am a high school fan. The kid is not a terrible QB. I feel that running game they use puts allot of choices on his shoulders. I feel its way to much and he would serve the team better if he was just QB who manages the running game. I will never Count Middletown out. Great Tradition... And would not count out Delpercio either. I agree Fanoff not good to criticize a kid. Have your opinnion but these are still at thye end of the day they are still kids..

Where is the admin to monitor these threads? Christ- don't attack a kid on here!

Like others have said- just when you start to doubt MTown they smack someone in the face and bring you back to reality. They lost to Sals fellas...not to some sisters of the poor. Had they lost to a lesser Flight A team then go ahead and doubt them. Sallies could easily end up winning it all, and so could WP or MTown for that matter...

Fillyflyer- your frustration is evident, and I'm sure shared among the MT faithful. Hold the line- I doubt it happens again. Coach DelPercio probably has forgotten more football than most of us have ever known.

Wolf52....reality check....The Cavs are not winning anything this year....No Flight A and No Title
....at best a playoff game cause they are going to get in, but to say they could easily win it all is way off.

If we think back to last year, similar things were said...a la "rebuilding" year and such. Then Coach DP gets them to the title game. Tech looked unstoppable until they rolled into MTown. Weird things happen- and good coaches always find a way to get their team playing to that level. Sometimes talent/injuries dictate something different, but they're still a good team.

"Easily" was a poor choice of words- nothing about Delaware HS playoff football is done easily. Let's just agree that they will make the playoffs and ANYTHING can happen there.

Wolverine I do agree, as a MT fan for over 20 years we do expect a lot of the MT football team YEAR after YEAR, when things aren't going well we throw the Coaches & players under the bus which is unfair, me included! This years expectations were high coming into the season, unfortunately they were hit with some key injuries, it really has made a major impact on their offense which in turn has added to the pressure on the QB and Coach D, losing your leading scorer and top RB in a run heavy O throws some challenges into revising your run game. I wouldn't count MT out just yet though, MT Defense is one of best and will keep them in the hunt, if they get Datillo back which I hear could happen come week 9-10. They will be in mix for sure! I also think WP & Sals are an injury away from the same fate, that's plagued MT. Sals loses Reeder they are a different team, WP loses Johnson same. A lot of time left to season should get interesting!

I think you are giving Sallies short shrift. There are some very good skill players besides Reeder on that team. If you want a team with a lot of vulnerability from the loss of one player; think no further than Duck Creek Road.

Not what I was saying at all Dove, simply stating that without a key player like Reeder who accounts for 25-35 carries a game equating to 60-70% of the Offense they wouldn't be even close to the same team, they don't have anyone even close to his caliber as an equal, Really!! Not one guy on that team is in same league if there was they would be splitting the carries! No disrespect to any of the other backs on the team, but #31 & #34 are blocking backs that get a carry now and then.! Without Reeder they're not even a contender that's the truth, deep down the SALs faithful know that !!!

Hey-we all use some poor choices on here LOL
You are correct and I agree with you and Mob......the landscape as of now tells me Sals are 1 and WP is 2 but the Cavs will be there unless the season is cancelled by the DIAA thing with ECA-HAHA

....like Mob said and we all know.....a key injury/suspension to just 1 player can devastate a team....

Hey Mobhits you may Be right about Sallies I they lose Reeder but your dead wrong about Penn if they lose Johnson Cmon man dont you follow high school football? Johnson's backup is just as capable at throwing a deep ball and what makes it worse is he is a threat running it too. So if something were to happen to Johnson the qb I think all it does is open the playbook even more. If you watched this weekend a game vs Appo they were without their starting 3 back Nelsom and the other 3 back stepped right up just saying .

Defense, his leadership is what will be missed as well as the chemistry, that's all I was trying to make as a point!! It Could be Dooley @ Center, lose him it changes the dynamics of the line!! Just saying if any team loses a key player it changes a teams chemistry and sometimes game plan! That's all I'm trying to say!

Sounds like "Daddy-Ball" to me......... (IF your right about the Freshman).
Best 11 should always play.
#8 is Dale

The Freshman is Dale Fry's son and he is good.

His time will come soon enough, head to head better QB mechanically, strong arm, good vision and pocket composure, only thing he lacks is game experience @ varsity level. MT will definitely not miss much @ QB next year due graduation, #8 "Drew Fry" remember his name, will be something special in next few years that's for sure.

@dt
DW had a good supporting cast for protection all 4 years. DF is for real, needs more endurance, drops elbow(a little hitch) late in the game, needs a couple more sacks of potatoes then told its ok to take a lane. I think he is right on schedule.

WTH do I know, I've been saying the same thing at Jason Boltus for years, two Melberger awards, a gazillion TDs and he still slinging it for Tampa Bay Storm.

I see a lot of similarities and the best is yet to come.
