Great overtime battle between these 2 teams that ended with Appo's experience being the deciding factor in the overtime victory 50-46. The game was messy a lot of missed shoots, layups, turnovers and multiple 1-5 point lead changes. Myles and his more experience group made plays down at the end and capitalized on Salesianums late turnovers. I was however impressed with Haley's coaching and decision making in this game. He made some major coaching adjustments by placing a great driver and play creator in the high post that created problems for Appo. This was a move that I hope he continues because it takes away teams ability to double and triple team their dominant big kid and destroys the zone if executed properly. The key to this strategy is using the middle to do ball reversal, dump down passing, drives and setting up open shooters. What I was however puzzled at was the lack of confidence of their outside shooters because they have some excellent shooters in Ali, Kempski and Bianchino. I think for this current excellent strategy to be fully advantageous to Sallies those kids have to be conditioned to step into those shoots with confidence, put up more of them, and knock them down. Part of this I think will come as their kids stop worrying about whether the coach will yank them if they miss. But overall great game and a excellent job by Haley with making the adjustments that would of landed them a victory if critical missed shoots and turnovers were less. Appo coach no comment.

Sounds like Appo coach over is his head.

A lot of We-R1 in the building. Guess with myles & the Ingraham kid on the floor a major Under Armour program located locally definitely gonna show , but the Nike is their, they just don't send easily recognizable guys. Imagine the force if delawares young talent all united under the WeR1 umbrella. They have the coaching talent & funding. Suprise the Cale, Ingraham, Davis family drive the distances to far locations in Jersey & PA when an excellently well ran, well coached organization exist right in their back yard. I'm just saying, everyone must do what they believe is best for their kids but me personally I won't drive a 240 miles round trip, paying tolls, burning gas for a cheesestake when Pats is right around the corner. I have to give We R1 respect because they do a lot to develop and promote their kids.

Are you bashing Team Final?

Everyone must do what is best for themselves, all the boys are doing well with their respective chosen programs.... That game was the best of the night, had to be there

Lol, no. The boys from Paterson, NJ braced the turnpike. That's a hike. AAU flavor in the air it February already getting close. Final a good organization but WeR1 really put a lot more into development and promoting.
That would be The Playaz. Team Final is out of Philly/S Jersey.

Sallies is a young team with a long way to go. They keep rotating guards in and out but no one seems to stand out. The main focus with the guards is to fake shots not take shots. They need to take the shot when they get an open look. More often they end up turning it over.

Two times now seeing Appo and not impressed. They LOOK like a good team but don't play like one. No outside shooters, give up too many offensive boards, turn it over a lot etc...

U are correct, but what happens when u keep rotating kids in and out with no set patterns, I believe they develop performance anxiety especially if they young. U also never can maintain flow. Basketball is a game of runs. No consistency = no confidence = turnovers = no flow. No gaurd will stand out because roles are not defined even at this point in the season. Granted if a kid is not working hard or constantly screwing up they belong on the bench and good players make plays. The coach has started to figure this out so I have to give him credit. Appo coach just coaches scared to lose and in a panic he makes bad decisions that make them lose anyway.

It's the chicken and the egg. You can't play well if you don't get a chance but you won't get a chance if you don't play well...

I just look at like if you have a team with a spot open you have go for it. If you're at Sanford you're not going to beat out Mikey Dixon. Not going to beat out Allen or Burnett or Money. But the only set starter for the Sals is Ingraham. Every other spot is open. You're not going to get that spot by passing up open shots.

The Appo coach doesn't take advantage of his athleticism of his players. Down 13 to Delcastle he was forced to press and they cut the lead to one. They didn't make their foul shots and it cost them. They need use their quickness on defense to dictate the pace. They let Sallies walk it up the court. The game shouldn't have close let alone go OT.
