WP 1983 - 1995... Newark 2004.....Concord 2006...... Middletown 2011-12......, Sals 2009-13...... ____________2015????

2012 MT had 11 postions ( 5 O & 5 D, 1 ST) 1st team all-state, 1 position 2nd team, 1 position 3rd team, Offensive player of the Year & Lineman of the year! Gatorade player of the year! Pretty impressive! Scored 566 points allowed 121! Had a Running clock all regular season games!
Notable players: Darius Wade -Boston College, Chris Godwin Penn State, Jamar Baynard Wesley, Nick Digati Williamson

My vote goes for William Penn D1 Football 1991 & Caravel D2 Football 1990
But that WP team beat some hella good teams, namely Christiana, who the beat in a nail biter in the Chip.
The competition over the past few years is watered down soooooo much.

My vote goes to the 84 and 85 Newark teams. People forget how much talent those 2 team had. Frye (JMU), Des Word (Stud at 165 lbs!), Mike Testa (West Chester), Tom Bockius (UofD), Craig Callahan (Holy Cross), Mike Reeder (baseball draftee, but great football player), Derrick May (Va Tech, MLB), Donnie Wright (HBCU school, just can't remember the name), Kenny Chandler (IAA talent), Kevin O'hara (Villanova).

I know I am forgetting a couple players but I would stack those teams against any of the above mentioned.

Can't remember what year, but the Newark team with the Harris brothers and the other kid that went to Cal get my vote. I think they had an All-State RB too. It all starts up front gentlemen and 3 big time D1 college linemen with 2 of them having played in the NFL would be awfully tough to beat imho...

D2 2013 Hodgson team had it all. Started off the year with a lot of injuries, but once they got healthy they put a running clock on every team they faced including playoffs.

The 2006 Sussex Central team is in my top 10 in DE HS history.
They were 11-0 and steamrolled everybody.
They were running the Slowskys off the field in the title game and then they made one error on punt return defense (special teams) and required the Heimlich maneuver for the rest of the game. Oh! What could have been.

i gotta go with 2007 Hodgson, first team in DE to go 13-0 (no first round bye). Beat concord, who had Justin Brown and Paul worrilow on the SAME team (both in NFL), and defending champion sallies in back to back weeks that year. Had the merrell twins that year, both Rutgers football grads.

Desmond word wishes he was 165 lbs in high school. Guy maybe tipped the scales at just over 150 soaking wet. But still one of best high school players i have ever seen. The 1981 Seaford team was also very good. Different era i know.

Thanks for Choice for Newark

1990 caravel under coach Larry Cylc. Not a big team but CJ Hoffman, Mike hawk, macadoo, and Zoeltsch got the job done!

I'll go back even further. 1958/1959 Sals. 18-0 (No State Tournaments), '59 team with five Division 1 recruits, played schools from three different states, . Gave up total of 18 points in two years.

O ya I member them boyz. Dat year the first of the instant cold packs was a liquid-type invented by Albert A. Robbins a very good cash friend of mine.

Dem boyz played real hard and Al gimme hava dozn do nuts and a hava dozn cold pacs fo the swellin.

I za think me should get some type a credit or cash fo dat invinshun.

Definitely not the best season ever by stats, but as a fan/parent, last year's Hodgson team took us on one heck of a ride. Gotta be the lowest seed (7) ever to win it all. Beat the 2, 1 and 4 seeds while giving up only 3 defensive TD's, ending it all with another shutout in the championship game.
