I am seeing some kids saying they have been selected , does anyone have the full roster?

I find it crazy how some teams get so many players while other teams that did way better during the season get one. who picks these teams?

Players are nominated by their own high school Head Football Coach, and then approved by their school's Athletic Director and Principal through a character verification process. All-State or All-Conference athletes are not automatically selected to play in the Blue-Gold Game. All players nominated must meet Blue-Gold character standards. The Blue and Gold Head Coaches, selected by The Delaware Interscholastic Football Coaches Association (DIFCA), then select team players to play in the Game from the nominees submitted.

Thirty-six players are selected for each team. The Blue Team consists of players from most high schools in New Castle County. The Gold Team is comprised of players from all high schools in Kent and Sussex counties, as well as the Christina and Appoquinimink District high schools. Each high school with a Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association sanctioned football team that has qualified seniors will have at least one representative on a Blue-Gold squad each year, however no school may have more than four representatives in a single year.

SouthDude how it works is after every team gets their 1 guarantee in the coaches then select the "no doubters" after that they select players by positional need at this point its mostly linemen to fill the 36 spots and yes the coaches typically take the allotted 4 from their school. It's an advantage of being select as the HC or an assistant coach.

You have to remember there are 44 teams with a guarantee 1 and only 72 spots. That leaves 14 spots per team to select from. Granted there are a handful of teams who may not submit a player but you get the gist of it.

I guess that makes sense, but there should be something better in place for the best kids to get selected for those last 12-14 spots

What determines the best kids? You talking best players? Or best fit for what the game is really about?

Selecting the teams is no easy task. Coaches have to build a roster after their initial players are nominated. There have been some years where 5 Qb's have been nominated and coaches are left to scramble for linemen. Trying to build a roster to prepare to play a game that they have less then a week to prepare for isn't as easy as it sounds.
