Numerous complaints about the brackets and who's in which one. I think they are somewhat unbalanced as a result of the point system (btw, the girls' bracket is very unbalanced too). How about a system where the points determine who is in the tourney, but then the committee meets and actually seeds the teams regardless of points?

The brackets are very weird. The 1 seed should not be playing the better teams in the state I know that sounds dumb but that's how every single bracket besides DIAA works

That would get so political and cause a sh-tstorm of new problems and complaints. Plus, a committee made up of who?

Same committee they have now. Other states do it, why can't we? They seed the wrestling state duals.

I have mostly been a supporter of the point system, but starting to waver. We best 3 team are in the top bracket (Mount, St George, Smyrna. Two of either of them would be a great final.

So let's suppose a committee seeded teams instead of simply doing it by points... what seed would you have given Sanford with its 12-8 record? I probably would give them a 4 or 5 seed but I can imagine the screaming if that had happened.

It's completely mathematical now and people still complain about conspiracy, making Henlopen teams play each other, giving private schools an easy path and that kind of thing. Having a subjective committee would be endless bitching and moaning. It's not a perfect system, but it's fair b/c everyone knows the rules ahead of time. If you want to win a championship, beat everyone in your path. Every year there are going to be a couple of teams that don't belong and a couple who do belong but don't make it. And there will be some seeding that looks a little off. But that's because there is no perfect system. NCAA is the same. They throw all kinds of money and resources at that, keeping track of records for every team and for every team that every team played etc.....and then a bunch of experts sit around and do the seeding and the first thing we hear about it who should have made it but got left out and who got in but should not have. In the end you have to beat the other guys.

And I forgot to say that the best way to seed the NCAA would be to let the bookies do it. They know more about the teams than the "experts" who do it.

Nonsense do you even know how spreads are determined? Iit is not about the treams but about the trends of the bettier

Appears the two best teams in the state are playing in the second game on Thursday. Too bad it couldn't be in the championship, but it happens that way sometimes.

I'm not sure it "appears" that way to everyone.

You can add Woodbridge and cape in the same bracket

Actually, it's about the predicted trend of the bettor. They only move lines due to injury or financial imbalance. The latter is what gamblers sometimes use as a trend indicator. But yeah, it's based on how they think the public will bet. The ideal situation for the house is 50% of the action on each team.

Here is a better idea. Just have all the teams south of the canal play one tournament, while having all the teams north of it play another. The winners of each, would meet at Del State for the title. This way a team in the south would have something to crow about every year and you guys could have the BOB all to yourselves.

What's Delaware State's basketball facility like? I've never been there
