Smyrna Girls beat W.T. Chipman 43-30

Smyrna Boys beat Prestige Academy 42-32

Downstate teams are owning the upstate teams at this event this year. Bayard, Gauger-Cobbs & Prestige have all loss by 39, 21 & 10 respectively. I know you would have taken some heat for having all downstate teams in the main bracket but man Woodbridge is looking very deserving now...LoL. The rematch between Fifer & Smyrna
should be interesting in the championship game.

Why don't teams like HP, AI or Skyline play?

I think it open to all teams, maybe CapitalGuy can shed some light? I think if they keep the new format with a site up north more northern teams would participate. Since I follow the girls more it would have been nice to have Thomas Edison or Skyline participate.

I think overall the downstate team are a little deeper this year. Plus all the kids look forward to the Classic each year. Winning the Championship of the top bracket is their goal.

The teams up north, HB, AI , SKyline and Stanton all had every good and competitive teams this yr. Redclay championship was 67-65 AI over Skyline well played game. Reason they do not play in the Capital classic or other tourneys is the limit of games they are allowed to play. Plus their season has been over for 2 weeks now. Redclay starts the hoop season End of Novemeber, but I would love to see all the middle schools compete I think there is some good teams at this level.

I asked the coach of A.I. to participate for 3 or four years in a row before his schedule was made..I stopped asking.....you would have to ask him why he did not want to ...he had several undefeated seasons ....perhaps that would not be the case had he entered the Classic...The Classic has unfortunately ruined a lot of post season hoodies that would have otherwise said Undefeated on it....case in point...Dover Boys.....Fifer Girls...maybe Mariner Girls....yes Mr. Simmons Dover Girls have a great deal of steam....home court could make the difference but Mariner is not going away easily....Cape could win four titles!!!!
