Tournament Rules for Delaware Teams
-------------------------------------------------------
Each roster has 25 players. If a player cannot make the game, a replacement may be added but the original player is
no longer eligible. There are only two players at each position and two DHs who hit for pitchers. Seven pitchers
are listed for each game.
Pitchers may pitch for a maximum of three innings (9 outs) and position Delaware players must play a
minimum of four innings but no more than five.
Games are 9 innings and are played by American League rules EXCEPT the following:
1. No bunting or showing bunt until the 7th inning and then only if he has had one previous at bat
2. there are no intentional walks allow at any time,
3. aluminum bats are allowed,
4. MUST slide to avoid contact,
5. arguing with umpires is limited to 30 seconds for an explanation of your question,
6. Position players in one game may pitch in another game but changes cannot be made during a given game.
Substitutions can be made between the 4th and 6th innings in any legal baseball manner (exception is that DHs must
stay in the same batting position in the batting order). If a player is replaced for any reason, he may not return to the
roster in a later game (these are not floating rosters).
Three players may play at a given position if determined prior to the game with each playing three innings -
this will reduce the number of pitchers by one.
