Not a good excuse. Players get hurt. Good teams have to adjust and good coaches change the game plan. I still like the Concord team and believe they had a horrible night and can still bounce back, but winning games should not be on the shoulders of individuals. It's a TEAM game where players play and coaches coach.
Eh, at the pro level sure, but at the college and especially the high school level, one star player can be the difference. I've seen three CHS games so far this year and this game is by far the worst the offense has looked. Couldn't get a rhythm going or get any momentum. Roberts is the kind of back you can mash up in there for 4 yards over and over until he breaks the big runs. That's a tough loss for any offense. Think they're down their #2 RB too.
They've got another test next week, WP is looking good.
If Concord coaches are smart, they would rest him till he is ready or at least the last game of the season against Middletown. Depending on the severity of his injury, possibly even hold him out till the playoffs. I believe they will be fine against Penn, Delcastle, and Charter without him to finish at a worst 8-2. Even if they lose without him to Penn and Middletown, they will still make the playoffs at 7-3. From what I am reading from everyone's posts, tonight showed how much they really needed him.
Yeah, the good news is they have those two games between Penn and MT where they can rest him up if need be, but I'm sure they'd like to have him for Penn next week. They're not the WP they usually are but they're still good enough to win, much like the Sals this week.
Avery plays on offense almost all the time. He's usually the blocking fullback for his brother.
Dont think it matters... MT and Smyrna are light years ahead of both these two teams.. In talent , coaching and scheme
