Dave Hearn

Correction, the little city to big for one state and two state championships this year.

remember it is division 2. that's like putting tattersal (i think is his name) in the same sentence with simpson, dinardo, coach K....I know this will disturb a few, but it just doesnt fit.

a lot of rumors around saying he will retire, but I think he will stay.

He's not retiring. Don't believe the rumors. Unless they are talking about him retiring from teaching. But he isn't retiring from coaching football. From what I've heard he isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Ceech1, Hearn is an unbelievable motivator which has helped him be successful. He could coach anywhere, but this is where he wants to be. Hearn is a graduate of Delmar a few light years ago. Played on the football team with him, hard as nails. It was a honor for him to coach my son. Don't be a D2 hater.

I believe Delmar is the only true town/community school in the state that doesn't have kids leave for choice, charters or privates. Its unique for today in the State of Delaware.

Coach Hearn is 4 yrs. from having his 30 for retirement. I think he will retire at that point, and will also probably will retire from the coaching position. Dave is not about padding any numbers for the record book, if he were to stay Coach for an extra year it would only be because he felt a special connection to a young group of kids.

I've heard he will keep coaching after he retires from teaching and isn't going anywhere anytime soon. He loves Delmar football. I got this from a pretty reliable source. Things could change of course. But right now I believe that's the plan.

Obviously the Hearn family has plenty of time before they have to make their decision. I would like nothing more that your source's version to be the way it ends up.

No one wants to see him go. However I think there are a couple strong candidates to replace him whenever the time comes.

I have the utmost respect for coach Hern and the Delmar team but fellas please, we can debate this and ponder until the cows come home. Enjoy the championship and each other, next season will be here before you know it, btw I believe Delmar goes back to back. Let the legend rest geez

I'd love to see Delmar go back to back. But I believe Woodbridge is going to be extremely tough next year. However, I see Delmar winning it all at least once in the next 3 years.
