Greensboro, N.C. (Sep. 4, 2017) --- Senior Alliyah McBean’s selection to the All-Tournament Team highlighted Delaware State’s participation in the Spartan-Aggie Volleyball Invitational this past weekend. McBean recorded 29 digs in the Hornets’ three matches, including 11 each is losses to North Carolina A&T and North Carolina Greensboro.
McBean was also named to the All-Tournament Team in DSU’s season opening action at the Morehead State Invitational last week.
Delaware State was winless in the tournament, falling to North Carolina A&T (0-3), Presbyterian (0-3) and NC Greensboro (0-3).
In the North Carolina A&T match, Sabina Szmajduch (sr.) led the Hornets with 11 kills, while Gabriella Enriquez had 22 assists.
Delaware State was one point away from winning the second set of the Presbyterian contest, but dropped the last three points to fall 27-25.
Enriquez totaled 55 assists in the three matches for the Hornets.
The Hornets (0-6) return to action with tournament contests in New Mexico and Texas next weekend.
Delaware State’s home opener is Sep. 20 against Quinnipiac.
