Delmar folks?

This is just out of curiosity nothing else, like thinking anything unseemly is going on. Just trying to understand the geography and school bounderies.

I know Salisbury has 3 public high schools that are pretty much on top of each other. Wicomico, Parkside and James M Bennett. I know Maryland has them dibbied into zones around Salisbury and Wicomico is the zone that goes to the MD line and Delmar. Maryland doesn't have school choice and I also have seen Delmar grads name Salisbury as their home town. so I guess I have two questions.

1. What is the determining factor if a Salisbury kid goes to one of the Maryland schools or Delmar?
2. Is there a geographical limit as to how far into Maryland Demar High can draw? Or is it basically only Maryland kids who are in Wicomico High's zone can go to Delmar?

That whole thing down there is an odd set up..Mainly with Salisbury and 3 public high schools located together like that..

Delmar Middle and High School is in Delaware and Delmar Elementary School is in Maryland. The agreement is that any student zoned for Delmar Elementary School in Maryland can go to Delmar Middle and High School in Delaware, otherwise they can go to Wicomoco High School

That agreement is up for debate again soon. Needless to say, the issue is contentious.

Interesting makes sense though.. this is the Delmar Elementary school boundary.. Which is fairly large and answers my question as to how far in MD they can go. So basically the guys saying their home town is Salisbury isn't exactly accurate going by city limits..Salisbury limits end right at that park where Delmar zone starts lol

People rep where they are from or where their fam is from. Just because a student is repping from a different city/town/state doesn't mean they don't live in their school zone. That's what people do on social media. Nothing out of the ordinary.

I understand this.. no big deal but for the record it was not social media it was college player profile... Normally college profiles like this list the town the High School the player graduated from as the hometown by default unless the player tells them otherwise... but again it is no issue just got me thinking how far into Maryland Delmar reaches what were the boundaries.. again just curiosity I don't personally care if they draw from Ocean City lol
