Delmar/Howard game moved to Friday at 7:30

I assume this is a weather related change in that it is forecast to rain all day and into the evening Saturday?

If I remember correctly, Hodgson's playoff game last year against Sales was pretty sloppy on their grass field, even though the heavy rain did not come down until later for the Friends TH game at Caravel. Rain can be a great equalizer.

Forecast looks much worse for Saturday down state then it does upstate. Rain isn't in forecast for upstate until later in the day. Heaviest rain is supposed to be Saturday night.

Still might be prudent to move the game forward a little.

The game is already scheduled for 12:00. It would be a competitive disadvantage to move it up to an earlier time. Sussex Central is going to travel and hour and a half.

Lights or no lights, it's ridiculous that Hodgson is able to 10:30am games to begin with.

Not trying to be an ass...but that is why it is important to earn home field advantage since you get to govern games times. If you don't like the home field advantage, then win all of the regular season games to get a better seed.

Frankly, I think the rain hurts Hodgson more than it hurts Sussex central.

I was thinking more about the safety of the players and the comfort of the fans.

And one of the favorite subjects of conversation on this board, the poor Refs ;)

I agree that expected poor field conditions could be a safety concern. But you never used to see games moved due to expected "normal" weather conditions like rain, snow or wind. I guess I am just getting old and grumpier.

Speaking of the Refs, Refs at the WB/Friends game were by and large much younger than what I have been seeing in NCCo and the game was officiated pretty well comparatively. Based upon what I have been seeing, games that appear to be more poorly officiated seem to involve some of the older officials who have trouble getting up and down the field.
