Delmar VS Laurel, One of the State Biggest Rivalries

Laurel is not what people thought they were going to be. That offense seems to be very vanilla this year and it has been rumored that team is not well disciplined. While it is a rivalry, Delmar should come out victorious. The only thing is, is Delmar already looking forward to their showdown next week vs Milford, or are they really focused on Laurel?
Well, i'm pretty sure we all steal his stuff. It's what all the great comedians do.
Throw out the records in this match up. The key will be if the wildcats can jump on the bulldogs early. Couple quick scores by the wildcats, could make this a running clock.However, the whole towns of Laurel and Delmar will be in attendance and if the bulldogs weather the early storm, it could definitely allow them to gain confidence and make this rivalry game interesting...

1 - Damascus 8-0 the favorite this year big time D
2 - Oakdale 8-0 good offense no D
3 - Walkersville 8-0 kicking game keeps them in it
4 - Williamsport 6-2 long snapper helps them

1 - River hill 7-0 solid but using different tees
2 - Westlake 7-1 old too many seniors
3 - DMA 6- 1 DMA goes to MD after wining DE
State championship to win a MD one
4 - Glenelg 6-2 has a shot with d 1 QB
2a north
1 - Gwynn Park 6-1 the park is always tuff at home
2 - Forest Park 6- 1 will not lose on the road
3 - Edmondson/westside 7- 1 won’t make it in
4 - Hereford 5-3 like Seaford soft one and done

1- North Caroline 8-0 will be in the title game two

I tried to point that out to you earlier this week. When the Delmar fans start showing up on the boards, that is not idle chatter. Those fans don't boast, they tell you what they are seeing.

Yes, the streets are indeed the way to go. While I would love to meet up, I will just be getting to Milford from my day job around 5 pm. Quick shower and a bite to eat, I won't even get there to 6:30 at the earliest. Here's hoping for a good game!!!!!!
Southdude, you have no real idea what a rivalry is!! Laurel and Seaford have been playing each other since at least 1920. From 1920 until about 1946 they played each other twice each year. Laurel and Seaford have played each other over 100 times, one of the oldest Rivalries in the United States. Your self proclaimed rivalry against Laurel holds no merit compared with the real rivalry thin that involves Laurel and Seaford. Go away little child!
It's funny what so many consider a rivalry. First off, both schools must have an equal chance at winning year in and year out, also must have some bad blood between the two. Fan attendance can be thrown in as well.
The news papers and the radio coverage says this game is a rivalry and that game is a rivalry because it's played every year. WRONG! It may be a rivalry geographically, but competitively, NO! I can't count how many times I hear about the Middletown/Appo rivalry......it's not, its practically a Bye Week for the Cavs.
Rivalries such as Sallies/StMarks, Sallies/Middletown, CR/Dover. Not only do these games draw HUGE crowds, but records are thrown out. People line the gates an hour to two hours before kickoff.
At the moment the Sals/STM is no lOnger a rivalry, Sallies is dominating the series. No matter what's Sals say, it's a game to give their starters a break after halftime and going into the post seasons.

When heading down to a CA vs Delmar playiff game we stopped at the Food Lion in Laurel to get some items for the tailgate and the clerks saw we were from CA and said they hope CA kicks Delmars ass. My wife questioned them why and they said we hate Delmar they steal all our best players. It seams the hate for Delmar is rooted in school choice

Well I am a 58 year Laurel resident and our Biggest rival is Seaford!!!
I will do my best for you. I went down and tested the signal on Monday and it was pretty good, they do not have wifi at the stadium. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the signal is the same tomorrow. I am going down early to get set up and troubleshoot any issues long before kickoff.

I am 58 years old from Delmar and our biggest rivalry is Laurel. No matter the record a win against Laurel makes the season. There is no comparison. School choice, no excuse as most go to Sussex Tech, alias the Evil Empire. RR we still use dial up. You have to remember we are a public school that has very little money.

In my 8 years in Delaware Delmar and Laurel have always been bitter rivals.. Seaford has never been anyone's rival as they have been terrible.. Someone may be living in the past.. a long time ago past.. Rivals can and do change with the decades just saying

When Delmar won 3 straight state championships in 2000, 2001, 2002 there were a few Laurel boys on those teams - Ellis boys, Tyler Downes, Scott Price. When Delmar plays Laurel it's "Laurel Week. When Laurel plays Delmar it's "Delmar Week". I'm willing to bet Laurel doesn't have a "Seaford Week".
or kicking out... lol yes I concur the HSFB experience in Delmar is tops in the state. The guys behind the endzone fence are a little over the top but whatever.
RR - I think that's the main reason nobody considers Seaford a rival. They've been a train wreck for a couple decades.
Dang I sometimes hang out by the end zone. It has changed now ever have a new locker room there. Sometimes we get get a little over zealous, we are passionate about our school. I have nothing but respect for CA and John Reed when you played us. Wish our schedules would align so we can play again.
Mainly in other sports like LAX.. Football they did sign a home and home after the play-off game which was cool... Not sure why they didn't again.. well I do know why Delmar was down and lost both but one was a tight game.. Maybe they will sign up again.. I know Coach Reed and us fans and kids like going down there to play in that atmosphere and Caravel isn't such a bad place to play as well.. Now that DM is back maybe they will rekindle
There were plans to build a new sports complex at CA with nice locker room, weight room, indoor practice facility etc but it was stayed off right before it happened when the state wanted CA to spend 100's of thousands to widen 72 along their property..Its all been tied up in all that negotiations.. not sure where it stand now
I remember a playoff game at Caravel. Delmar was winning with minutes left and Caravel scored on a deep pass. Then Delmar fumbled on the next drive and Caravel kicked a FG to seal it. Was a heartbreaker. Believe it was the same year IR won it all with Jamie Jarmon.
Whodey00, why relive the past. It took years of therapy to get over that loss....
