Congrats to him... on the flip side, who are possible replacements? Can see this being an extremely popular job opening.
I would think the top candidate would be Coach Blum! He's young, has the passion and is loved by the kids.
Being someone that's been around the program his entire life, I wouldn't want just anyone thinks they can coach. I would like someone that's been here before. Someone that's played here, or knows the tradition that has been set, that knows how Middletown football is, the expectations every year. I would love to have Coach Blum or Coach Reynolds as head coach, who I think are two of the most under rated coaches. which I could be bias, but I feel like people within the program should speak up and place their opinions on who it should be

His son on Twitter said he is moving to Texas to pursue a coaching job there. Disappointed he's leaving. Wish him the best.
Rumor is the guy got really into Friday Night Lights and decided to make a move. Pretty bold call but I mean I respect it, wish him nothing but the best. I had a friend watch "Weeds" on Netflix and within a week he was El Chapo! Crazy how things go, am I right?

On the comment that there is no love lost between MDP and BDN...I don't know. Last year, I got to their game in Middletown like at 600. BDN and MDP met at mid field and hugged each other and seemed to have a very animated and enjoyable conversation. I even took a pic from the stands.
BDN gave MDP an assistant coaching job while MDP was still a college student. I am sure they have had their moments...but so what.
I can't imagine them going outside for this job. The culture of continuing the success of this program is right in house...
I am new to the board, but TRUST me, not a Salesianum fan! Big Saint E's guy if I say so myself, but just thought the news seemed a bit odd. We'll get each others humor sooner than later, perhaps some Diet Pepsi's and warm pretzels will do the trick!
On a serious note, Howard and St. E's used to play FB every year. It was a great rivalry. The schools are like a mile and half apart, both are in the City and both D2. I wish they would resume the rivalry.....
Every year I miss that rivalry more and more. It's a shame it ended if I'm being honest. I remember every year I'd get excited for Delawares own Miami-ND esq. matchup.

Would not be surprised if Manlove from Woodbridge is considered or throws his name in the hat. Coming off of a state championship, coach of the year, and is from that area/or coached there previously. #DEHSFootball

If I thought people were going to bring up that issue....which was tremendously overblown.....I would have never paid the compliment. MDP mishandled something in the beginning of that whole testing process. He is not a cheater.
