WOW the D2 seeding would be this today

1. DMA
2. Friends
3. St Georges
4. Milford
5. Conrad
6. Howard
7. Glasgow
8. Lake

thats crazy lol.. really it flies in the face of scheduling tough to prepare and challenge your team and just scheduling easy to make the play-off's and get a good seed. not really a good thing IMO

So some teams (Friends) are rewarded for scheduling cupcakes? It's gonna be funny come playoff time when teams get exposed and the true talent emerges. LOL

And if you're going to talk about SOS...

Friends
Milford
Glasgow
Conrad
Tatnall
Christiana

Have all played an easy schedule so far...

Somehow or another, it's gonna be DMA and St. Georges in the D2 Final, that much I'm certain of. Anything else is just window dressing. I think the teams in D2 as of now hold, but the seedings will change eventually. Probably will end up:

1. DMA
2. St. Georges (they have a D1 win over CR and will get bonus points from Penn)
3. Friends
4. Lake
5. Howard
6. Conrad
7. Glasgow
8. Milford (or Tatnall/Tower/Caravel/Hodgson)

Not sure Conrad will be there at the end .

They still have

Mckean (upset Glasgow and probably gives Conrad a good game)

Archmere (don't think they've ever beat them and lost 42-0 LY)

Tatnall (lost 14-12 LY)

Tower Hill (lost 44-12 LY)

DMA (2nd best team in DII behind St. G lost 42-13 LY)

Possible records:

These are not in playoff point order:

DMA 10-0
St. Georges 9-1
Friends 9-0
Lake 7-3 or 6-4
Howard 7-3
Conrad 6-4
Glasgow 6-4
Milford 6-4 or 7-3
Tatnall 6-4
Tower Hill 5-4
Caravel no clue
Hodgson 6-4 or 7-3

Woodbridge ??????
Indian River???????

Henlopen South is still a toss up. Lake keeps winning but barely. Milford hasn't beaten anyone.

You tell me fan? Not sure man for man they match up with the good northern publics but could be wrong. They haven't had a match up worthy to see as of yet.

I never like what that statement implies. The demographics between Glasgow and Friends are much different that's for sure.

I need to see more of Glasgow to make a decision on where they stand.

If friends played Glasgow's schedule this year I think they would be 3-2 also.

Interesting stretch for HVT, Caravel and St Marks... as they will all be playing each other over the next 5 weeks... I tend to think one of those teams will have to sweep the other two to have a chance for play-offs

Conrad and Friends with the 4 and 5 seeds lol. Yea I'd be taking Glasgow and Lake over them if the playoffs started today.

During the two hour rain delay last week, I heard that three divisions is a real possibility. The problem is, that the system they were looking to use would have had Milford and another school with a winning record and big enrollment numbers in D-3.

The bigger problem is even today D1 only has 18 teams... That is nothing more than a league championship in most states... Pretty much in most states to win a state championship you have to best at minimum 150 teams... if not 300 or more. regardless of the classicifations

Playing a hard schedule may bite the team in the ass but it does get individual players noticed. For example. DMA has an easy schedule but what individuals stand out?? When DMA played Sallies last year some DMA players stood out and got noticed and some people of stature knew the good DMA players.names.
A good player on a crappy team with an easy schedule gets no respect (titus Nelson last year at conrad). Take the same kid put him on a good team (wm penn) and heads turn.

Football isn't an individual sport though. DMA got penalized the last 2 years for playing a tough schedule

But they also got their first all state player and FB scholarship (d1 I believe) those last two years Doesn't that open the door for other players from the school to get noticed ? Also a small school like that doesn't make cuts. Everyone who wants to be on the team makes it. Not much of a team when some kids aren't there for the right reasons. ( not being smart just amazed at the politics in delaware hs FB) I thought baseball was bad with the politics.

Not sure how many teams besides Sallies cut in football. If you're good enough you'll get noticed for the next level especially with hudl and all the other platforms to promote yourself . Justin Perillo playing for the Packers today went to Tatnall probably one of the smallest programs in the state.

Most coaches in Delaware are doing the right things now to get kids looked at to play in college . It hasn't always been that way. Not everyone is cut out to play at the next level though. Just saying.

You might want to check Queen Anne's numbers. They may be division 1. MPSSAA has their enrollment as 934, but that is only grades 9-11. It does not include seniors.

That's interesting. The info I have comes from DelawareSportsZone.com so I was just sharing what they have.

I think DMA has a very good program, talented players and great staff... The stronger teams you play the better you get. I would rather have a strong schedule vs. a weaker schedule, make the tournament and lose in the first round. Team play up to the competition, as well as play down to lesser teams.

St Marks loss vs Newark & Lake are really hurting them now. They had the ball at Newark 20 less then 2 minutes. Win that and they would be in much better shape for play offs. Had Lake 13-0 and lost 14-13, win that and the same.

I could see them beating Hodgson & St E's but losing to Sallies & St Georges. End result 5-5 with no playoffs probably. Win either Lake or Newark and they probably make it at 6-4.
