Division II was tight all season, and it remained that way at the top and bottom of the Delaware SportsZone Playoff Projections.

St. Georges and DMA end up in a virtual tie at 41 points, so the opponent victories tiebreaker will need to be used, and the Hawks win that category 41-40, giving them the top seed.

Friends’ Week 10 loss kept them out of that potential 41 point tiebreaker, but they had just enough schedule to hang on to third.

Howard is the first of two big movers, as they earned three Week 10 bonus points from St. Georges, Smyrna, and Mount Pleasant to catapult from 7th to 4th, and a hosting position.

The fiercest battle was for the final qualifying slot, as Hodgson, who was tied for 11th entering the weekend, leapfrogged Conrad, Indian River, and Glasgow, who all lost, and then win a 44-40 opponent’s victories tiebreaker over Milford to claim the 8 seed.

NOTE: All information is unofficial, the official brackets will be released by the DIAA on Sunday.

If these projections are correct, these would be the first round matchups:

No. 8 Hodgson at No. 1 St. Georges
No. 7 Woodbridge at No. 2 DMA
No. 6 Lake Forest at No. 3 Friends
No. 5 Tower Hill at No. 4 Howard

Game schedules and actual seeds announced tomorrow I'm assuming?

Yep, I've heard 3 p.m. will be the official release time.

If these matches hold, I see at least two lower seeds winning in the first round (Lake and Howard, possibly Woodbridge), and it's good St. Georges gets Hodgson early to get that monkey off their backs finally.

I wouldn't want to see Hodgson in the 1st round. I do believe STG beats them again but they can't be thrilled about that matchup.
