Donte>Duval

I think the lack of a consistent jump shot hurt Duval as the season went on teams were daring him to shoot to keep him from penetrating & packing the paint. W/ 6’7 #1 overall player R.J. Barrett coming in to play the point for Duke next year I’m not sure what more options Duval had but hopefully he works hard & gets picked up somehow.

Great Job Donte. Make Delaware Proud. We know you will. This is Proof that you don't have to leave to get notice. Work hard and get Them Grades! First Round Pick! I hope Duval gets pick up also. Stay with it.
I don't know about being Michael Jordan of Delaware but You are the Final Four MVP! High School State Champion! College Champion! First Round Pick! 30 plus points in the Championship Game! Wow! Who can say that?

Just a kid from from Delaware. LOL.

So ironic in the truth.

Because in the end he just he just a kid who make bad choices.

Who is the dumbass who printed up those shirts?

Two things. Dumb shirts and u ugly.
Your mom made em..........

So much hate, for what? Trying to figure out what his bad choice was. If he ends up at the end of the bench for an NBA team he's making more than you if he goes overseas he's making more money than you.

I think Tre went to the wrong school. If he goes to Kentucky he's probably a top 20 pick. Cal has a way of getting guys drafter whether they are NBA caliber players or not. I wish nothing but the best for him.

I think what he is saying is that you dont have to leave DE to make it to the NBA. We have alot of talent in the state but they all are quick to leave because of someone selling them the dream. Just think how good bball would be in DE if our talent stayed in the state and competed aginst each other. I know that we DIAA needs to change all the rules that they have which handcuffs the coaches in DE from developing talent in the offseason as well as being able to schedule more games.

The lore of playing with and against other high level players regularly for 30 - 40 gms (or more) a season is too much to pass up for some....

Most of you know, I can be a little goofy.

What if DD had left Salesianum after his JR year to compete with the big boys at Basketball Factory Prep?

The clones would have been denied their "Hoosiers" experience in 2015 and Polytech would have been the champs. DD probably wouldn't have been guided to Villanova, and he might be running and gunnin' at a place like Oklahoma State. No 2 national titles. No final 4 MVP. No SI cover. No Gus Johnson "Big Ragu" moniker. Possibly not in NBA this year.

None of this stuff would have happened the same way.

What do you guys think?

HAPPY 4th...

The Sals were 10-10 that year regular season. Without DD they would have never advanced that far. He willed that team to win. Life is too full of woulda, coulda , shoulda's.

I’ve always been a fan of kids staying in De, as I’ve said in the age of social media scouts will find you. You no longer need to go to prep schools or “basketball factories “ to get noticed. Going away from home to play a tougher schedule can make you better but it can also highlight your weaknesses.

The young man seems to have made the right decisions thus far in his adolescence and early adulthood.

I want to say that no two way to getting to the ultimate goal of playing in the best league in the world is right. If Trevon did not go to 3 different schools and stayed at Sanford would he have went to Duke or have the strong indication that he could of went to Kentucky. No one knows. He and his father had a plan of having him play against the so called best in the country more so than what he would have had done at Sanford ( no disrespect). I applaud the effort. I believe the timing was not right for him to go to Duke and have those big boys there that the offense was geared to. If he would of went to any other school he would have been the feature. But if you truly watch these two. Donte and Trevon. Both of these kids play how there high system played for them. Sallies. More of a motion offense where the ball moves and not a lot of isolation plays. Trevon. With most of the school he went to was in a isolation plays and he dominated the ball. Donte went to a team where the offense was the same style that he was running in high school. Trevon went to a team where he could not dominate the ball and for this his offense struggle to the untrained eye. He gets to Houston and looks really good in the first game. I wonder why? Well the offense is an iso offense with some pick and roll. If Trevon would of went to golden state where the ball moves or san Antonio Trevon would be struggling. The point is system account for a lot of the success. Player preference accounts for some, and the coaches allowing there individual games to flourish is some. Now I don’t know why we have the hate when we should be really be mad at Reggie Miller for saying that there is no talent here in Delaware.

Staying or leaving Delaware had no effect on his situation. Going to Duke played a major role, he should have did like Collin Sexton and went to a school where he could have been ball dominate. The luster of a big name and bright lights of Duke clouded his judge or was given bad advise by his advisors that cost him millions.

The draft is more about timing and team needs. What is truly sad is that he was pushed out at Duke and couldn't stay one more year to work on his weakness. He was used by the so called basketball factories IMG and Duke.
