The paisan did a nice job. Maybe he has been offered a job back in his home state of New Jersey. Interesting to see how this plays out.
Is this informed speculation or just a random thought?
Here's my take on it. Coach Simoneti was an outsider and there is a lot of competing politics in the Capital School District. Overall Coach Simoneti had done a great job with discipline and culture in the program.
Over the years we had some strange hiring's like the last AD who right out the box was openly trying to get hired at CR and finally ended up at Smyrna or the girls basketball coach who was the niece of the Asst. Principal that was hired right out of college with no coaching experience and stayed for one year.
In short there are to many hands in the pot with competing interests for us to perform up to our potential. We have great facilities and are one of the more financially sound public school districts in the state but we don't have the leadership to make it work in athletics at least!
Dovers AD will not skip over the promotion of their offensive coordinator. Dover’s former offensive coordinator won AZ state championship.
Former OC Colin Thomas left for Liberty (Peoria) High School in 2015 (he was passed over for several HC positions here in DE) where he won a 6A State Championship as OC last year. He was hired as HC this year when their Coach left to return home to Washington, he led them to the Open Division playoffs where they nearly upset #5 in the country Chandler in the semis.

Arizona Football Playoff Brackets
Like I said, quite a few hats. He really likes Mission BBQ from what I have heard.Richie Kotite was spotted at the Modern Maturity Center only a short distance from Dover High’s campus. This could be some big news....
Seems that the next Dover High School football coach should be coached by the next best youth football organizer. Dover releases former Henelopen Coach of the Year during a worldwide pandemic then tries to sidedoor hire a want to be head coach from out of state. All the while the only people to be affected are the Dover football players. Dover will forever be want to be contenders with this mentality.
Rumor is swirling around that the new coach will be former Wesleys head coach Knapp. Since Wesley is getting rid of its athletics I wouldn’t be shocked to see it happen
