Dover vs Smyrna

Big time bucket at the end from Woodlin with seconds left on the clock. 48-47 Dover win. Great overall game, & the Smyrna kids did a better job defensively with Dover & had the game won if it was not for that last second shoot. What did stand out to me was Allen for Dover despite having a 5' 7" defender shoot so many 3's. I would like to see him work on his off the dribble game more because his jump shoot is already lethal. Or even back down smaller defender for easy layup or shoot over the top. Running of screens all day looking for 3's is very limited basketball, even Steph Curry does off the dribble plays including creating setups for others and dishing for the assist or taking the layup. I would like to see him do more of this but other than that his game is good & I think he will do well at Rider. Overall a great rivalry game.

I saw the buzzer beater on Facebook and wasn't surprised how it went down. Saw Smyrna against Concord on Tuesday and thought they let a team like the Raiders get too many offensive rebounds.

Dover's a wild card in this whole equation because they have size and skill and I don't think Allen's forgotten that missed FT against St. E's last year, not for a second.

This game was very sloppy overall. Not much offense run either way. Lots of street ball and one-on-one stuff. Allen has talent but he thinks he can handle like a point guard and he cannot. Both teams will need much more control and disciplined offense if they expect to do anything in the tournament. #10 for Smyrna can shoot from deep and has a very quick release. Watched him warm up before the second half and he was all net on 8 straight shots from NBA range. Similar to Trevor Cooney a few years ago. The new gym at Dover is a fantastic place!
