Heated battle between both teams with a scuffle that had to be broken up just before half time. So emotions were running high as these two teams are viable candidates to win State this year. Credit Rawls at the end with a big time move to the basket to take home the win for St. Georges with 4 seconds left. Jordan Allen, Lamar Hamrick, Rawls, Wooodlin all had great games. Dover lead most of the game but St. Georges fought back and stayed close. St. Georges stepped up there defense on Allen and did not allow him to get those wide open 3's that he knocked down in the first half to give them an 11 point advantage. Lamar Hamrick did his thing as usual but in the 4th quarter Allen was a no show. I felt he was relying to much on the 3 and would like to see him develop his of the dribble game more to help his team in difficult stretches. Either way I love his game and wish him all the best at Rider. We must give a lot of credit to #11(Nah'Shon Hyland) from St. Georges, the freshman kid has talent and a calmness not seen in Freshman. The kid can shoot and just flat out play so i can see him becoming something really special in the future especially when he adds some strength and weight. Lamar Hamrick breaks my heart so I don't really want to say much but he is a very talented kid that gets caught up in the unnecessary. Steer downs, taunting, bolstering, and general lack of discipline on and off the court. What kids don't realize is the world can see u and opportunity comes knocking only for short periods of time. Talent without discipline and the right attitude goes no where. He has been suspended many times by coach Griffin for his bad decision making off the court but without parental reinforcement kids rarely get the message. Strangely from everyone who knows him says one on one he is great kid and he is eligible and playing this year so hopefully he just needs to be pulled to the side. Great job from all the kids for a great performance.
