@RR
in the Smallwood article yesterday, he thanked everyone in Delaware except Sills...
WTF
he should send his first 5 Eagles pay checks right to Daystar Sills!!
honestly,where would those guys be without him?
just wondering

@Sparty I read the article when I got back from Quantico VA last night.. Never thought of that? Coach DT was/is such an influence I believe it is he they relate to and he who was involved with him the most. But your right none of the guys ever thank Sills in these articles

A Christian act is done, simply because a person knows it is the right thing to do, not for the praise. Being the good Christian man that he is, I'm sure Mr. Sills in happy in the knowledge that he provided an opportunity to Mr. Smallwood and that no recognition is required.

How about them?

No need to pick me up the shirt, I already have it in black as well as several other colors. I am looking for it in aqua however, so keep me in mind.

Knowing Sills he doesnt look to be in the limelight for this type of stuff,

and he has done so much more for these kids even beyond football, There were kids at Red Lion that could/would never make the 4 deep that he paid the tuition for.

Also i say I know of atleast two graduates that just weren't good enough to earn Schollies that he personally did what he could to make sure they were put into college.

Also know another case where he got two other guys jobs.

Im not here to say he is some sort of saint but you ask any of the kids and they will say they are blessed to have The Sills family as a whole in their lives.

And all I can say is that even if he did it for some "selfish" reasons, thats still more than all of us can claim

@HSFB...

where did he go?
a lot of kids are still depending on him!
heard he washed his hands of ECA...
he helped a lot of families, and there are a lot he hurt!!
should of just let his kid go to St Marks like he wanted to and had a normal H.S. life , not the circus he created at RL then ECA...all in the name of Jesus....
just saying

He finally figured ou that the end has come, as you know he is having some legal issues.

It is a known that a good percentage of the kids at ECA did not pay tuition. He was spewing probably close to 600,000 a year for the 4 ECA was open. like you said he could have sent his son to St Marks, but he didnt he chose to do what he did for the other kids (including my Nephew)

A lot that he hurt ? please let me know ?

I dont know of any kid that didn't graduate HS that stayed with the program. Or that would ever say that Sills Negatively did something.

Some kids/Families hurt themselves by not fulling buying in, and not leaving the streets alone. Sills can only do so much in that situation

I get the feeling most ECA players will end up in MD and DE this fall. ECA was a terrific opportunity, some made the most of it, others squandered their chance.

For us, it was a much appreciated, reasonably priced and local option. Where else in the DE area could a kid get to play against teams like: IMG Academy (FL), DeSoto (TX), Gilman (MD), St Joes Regional (NJ), Paramus Catholic (NJ), Buford (GA), DeMatha (MD), and St Edward (OH)?

They end with a four year record of 18-18, but wins and losses were secondary (in my opinion) to providing an alternative to a bad environment, and a chance to play a very challenging football schedule. Guessing two dozen, maybe more, will go on to college after ECA.

Thanks to everyone involved with ECA.

Best of luck to the ECA Players and coaches. Those coaches meant well and had their heart in it I believe. The lead self serving Jimmy Jones look and act alike is just that.
