played two years at Juco in 99-00 and 00-01
about to go to a four year school does that person still have athletic eligiblity or does the 10 semester rule rule him out???????

i think your eligibility will be up. There is some thing called a clock that starts when you begin playing i really don't remember the details but i know he wouldn't be able to

Actually you should have 2 years of eligibilty within a 6 semester time frame regardless of when you started. I'm going to search further and I'll let you know what I find out

There is no such thing as a clock...If you played two years of junior college basketball, that is considered 4 of the ten full sememsters...I doesnt matter if you take a year or twenty years off, as long as you dont attend full time, you do not lose that year of eligibility....the second school i played at in Cali, we had a guy who played at Stanford for one year (89-90), then took five years off of school, came back to my college and still had three years of eligibility left...

Really, I didnt even know that...thanks for the info...is that a new rule, say in the past five years or so??

Yes X, they started the rule about 5 years ago. They also have a age restriction now.

The age restriction is for D1 only, right..bc i remember reading about a 45 year old guy playing football for Kutztown University a couple of years ago..

There was a 39 yr old retired Army vet who played football for Lou Hotz last yr at U of S. Carolina.

The age rule is for division 1 and they make exemptions for guys who serve in the military.
