MHS Davis is out.. to soon?
Not necessarily. Unlike some, I think Colby can do be favorable job in the absence of Davis. There’s still plenty of talent around Colby to help him succeed. Whether he can go out there a win a big game has yet to be determined. Last week was his first varsity start, just like Davis was against Smyrna.
The game plan last week was to help Colby ease into his role. It was more run dominant to help him feel comfortable for when he had to make a throw. For the most part he did okay. He MANAGED the game to a win, which is what you want/expect from your back up.
Before anyone says it, yes, it’s against Concord, just like my Ravens “just played” Miami, and Arizona. Probably two of the worst teams in the league, BUT you still have to execute, still have to make plays. And that’s what Colby did. He had his ups and downs, but he ran the offense in the way it was supposed to be ran with him behind the center.
Hodgson is a different foe, they will be bigger, with a more polished and veteran QB who can make the reads, so Mtowns defense will have to help carry Colby. You can’t put it solely on him from the start.
I look for a good game. I just think Hodgson will exploit the weakness and begin to pull away. I HOPE, I’m wrong and my Cavs come home with a win. Forever Bleed Blue!
