A lot of good games today (hopefully since last night's games were duds all ten run rules)
#15 Sallies (4-3) vs #1 St Marks (8-0) at Frawley 7pm. Preseason i believe most people thought these two teams were top 5 teams. St Marks has surely kept up its end of the bargain. At 8-0, they have 5 wins over teams in the top 20 (Hodgson, CR,Archmere, Conrad & Caravel). St Marks is averaging nearly 10 hits per game with 2 guys with multiple homeruns this season, Disabatino & Perry. Freeland, Holdren and Scott have been providing a lot of hits all season as well. On the mound, Billy Phillips is 4-0 with wins over Caravel, Archmere, CR & St E. Spagnolo is 3-0. Sallies has been hard to figure out. They start with a great game against Caravel, but lost via a walkoff hit in final frame. They lose to a good out of state team 5-1. Then Sallies turns around and puts up 18 runs on a pretty good Sussex Central team. Then Sallies struggles with a not so good Appo team and follow that up with a 5-3 loss to Cape. At that point their pitching and defense was giving up nearly 5 runs per game. Now the last two games they have only given up 1 run total in both games. Hitting they are led by Garner and Harbaugh. In 2013 Sals beat St Marks twice (w/Phillips pitching). In 2012 St Marks won both meetings (w/Phillips pitching).
