Interesting side note.. lol ESPN

"Mater Dei will be playing its second game. The Monarchs beat Bishop Amat (California) last week, but they bring an 0-1 record into the game, because they had to forfeit the victory after using an ineligible player.

The forfeit doesn’t affect MD in the rankings, because the player didn’t have an effect on the outcome of the game on the field."

So this begs the question to the ESPN folks. If a team goes undefeated and ends the season ranked #1 but is found out they used an ineligible player all season and has to forfeit all their wins do they still get to be ESPN Mythical National Champion?

or is it only when the ratings of an upcoming prime time broadcast could be effected.. lol

Mater Dei is probably #1. They have the athletes to match BG, IMG , SFA etc.. and other upperclassman transfer schools and they are much better coached. That and have the athletes who may be smaller but have continuity playing together in the same system longer.

damn 42-zip Mater Dei.. I guess the Fertitta Brothers need to spend some more money lol

DeMatha line is big as hell but they suck technically and are slow as hell. Lloyd has no chance STA all over them.

This would never happen in the McGreggor era. McG Dmatha teams were always lead by superior o line play. Brooks realizing you can’t just rely on the dematha name and recruit measurables. You actually have to coach them. Which by the eye test is not happening

I saw the exact same thing their left tackle was getting beat bad, he's to heavy and slow to be out there on a island with #19.

Dematha is not well coach it looks like their strategy is to recruit the biggest lineman that might intimidate some teams but not top rank national programs.

You’ve got to be kidding me Phillips a under dog could have easily ran out first half down by 3. They run some nonsense and get a fumble returned for a TD. Next possession they could just take a 10deficit into the locker room but no they fumble a read option play and the other team scores again on the last play before half so in stead of down 3 they go down 17 at half. Coach is an idiot

. No one on half of the field.? Wtf. The before half coaching debacle is carrying over to 2nd half lol

Ugly situation for Silver Oak. Were going to have to see if they cancel their season :(

Calvert Hall were winners today versus Silver Oak Academy 30-0. with 4:30 left in the second quarter their opposition became weary of getting beat up and decided to beat up themselves and their coaching staff. This happened right after Tre's tackle. It was a clean tackle after the kickoff and it did not cause the maylee. Ref's immediately called the game for safety reasons

I’ve seen brawls at football games before.

But I’ve never seen a game ending brawl among teammates and coaches.

Silver Oak only dressed 20, only about half of whom seemed interested in playing (by far their most commonly run play was Delay Of Game).

Down 30 points in the 2nd, they started bickering among themselves, began disrespecting their coaches and traded insults with spectators.

Yelling became punches as teammates squared off and at least player attacked a coach.

The ref immediately halted the game at 4:19 of the 2nd.

One player refused to calm down and is continuing to be physically restrained by coaches long after Calvert Hall has left the field.

A truly horrific scene.

30-0Calvert Hall final

That is a shame. Caravel has never had any problems with them. They have always been respectful when they visit here. Coach there has a tough job but I do think they schedule way to hard. Must be tough for those boys knowing your going to get beat badly most of your games. There have been a few occasions where their games were halted at halftime but those occasions were when the mismatch was out of hand not from fighting or acting up

Good Counsel (MD) 40 Marietta (GA) 28

sheesh kinda shows the discrepancy in talent St Frances has. Good Counsel is a good team and they blew their doors off in their scrim game
