Sallies Sophomore QB looks good.. Very comfortable.. 6 2 180.. He looks like a future college player..

Neither Reeder or Knight have gone off.. For most part both defense doing a good job of stopping the run..
Got that reeder kid is a GOOD looking kid.. He looks the part.. Would LOVE to have a BACK that looked like that!

They are shutting down sallies and reeder.. playing great defense.. They did a an onside kick and recovered.. smyrna did recover it past 10 yds.. missed call by officials.. gave ball to sallies..earlier they almost botched a touchback... This crew not impressive so far...

They did botch the touch back call. The ball was touched on the one by the Sallies player however this was done while his feet were clearly in the end zone.
In HS rules its where the ball is when downed.. The player can have his feet in the endzone. They got that one right
I was not aware of that rule. Thanks for clarifying. I took my cue from coach Judy who animatedly called for the touch back but I thought it was the rule too.
I am not aware of when it became illegal for a defender to cut the FB however,, Must be one of those new player safety rules..I'm going have to research that
It is illegal in HS to take out the lead blocker by going low and essentially cutting him. It's been a rule for 3 or 4 years. Don't like it but it's kindler gentler football .

Thanks fan... I also thought the refs did a decent job.. The game was a great game.. sloppy at times but still fun too watch.. I thought both defenses came out and executed great games plans...
All you former or present coaches have got to like the "no quit" in that team. fantastic game
Couple of things -
1. Yes touchback... High school you can have your feet in the end zone.. it is just the ball can not cross the plane.. The white hat had to come in and clarify.. it was the right call...
2. The Onside.. If it was touched by Smyrna before 10 yds then yes it was right.. I was watching it online and did not see the replay but initially it looked like Smyrna did not touch it.. It was a HECK of a kick by the kicker...
3. Yes that is correct.. NOBODY can cut outside the cut box.. Tackle to tackle and 2 yds... Also the cut must be at the snap.. etc.. This includes defenders... We are a team that wrong arms and spills all pulling guards and fullbacks to our LBers and safeties.. We cut... We do get called for it probably 3-4 times a year.. Our DC is a college guy.. We go low on all of them.. But technically nobody at the high school level can cut. Also if you are in gun and you cut it is illegal.. Once the ball crosses past two yards it is illegal to cut..

I had a good view of the Onside.. It did indeed hit a Smyrna player prior to 10
I had a better view and the kid touched it at 11 yards. That was a total BS call. Along with the 4th down spot earlier in the game. To be expected though considering there were upstate refs on the field.
With that said, great game on the part of both teams. Smyrna ended up on top but could have gone either way and in defeat the Sallies players handled themselves with class. I did however hear a couple of the parents making comments about "the hicks" and dipshit farmers....as expected they got real quiet when they saw one of those dipshit farmers walk closer
Like Wilmington or upstate DE is Orange County California or Loudon County... I mean really those people need to get a reality grip and get over themselves.
You can pretty much pick any contest that's this intense and find a couple of knuckleheads that are crybabies especially with the thousands in the stadium today.
I didn't hear anyone from SALS side call anyone a hick or display anything but admiration for a very good team with outstanding school spirit and fans day was theirs and rightly so. On another note, that Eagle band is absolutely fantastic.
Onside kick clearly hit Smyrna player in the leg at 8 yards. I was sitting right there. 110 percent correct call.
Only thing I heard was a car full of Smyrna girls yell Sallies sucks at me . I didn't go to Sallies so I didn't really care. I guess I should have told them to get back to the farm. LOL. Who cares, fans trash talk is usually in good fun.

Had you said that I'm sure one of those little girls would have given you a butt whooping. And you're comparing my experience with adults to yours with kids.
Thats a shame you didn't go to Sallies, you're their biggest cheerleader...actually you're their only cheerleader considering it's an all boys school.

Hey, the symrna kids won a nice game, try and enjoy it.
Sallies has cheerleaders they're from Padua (I think).

Anybody hear the Smyrna fans boo the refs of the field at half time? They were clearly not happy.
Definitely went 10 yards and was a horrible call... I have the video and pictures to prove it
It went 10 yards but it looked pretty obvious that it touched a player for Smyrna at about 8-9 yards. I was right there and if I was the ref I would have made the same call. Things are tough at full speed.
Smyrna got hosed on one of the spots for sure. Those officials didn't do a bad job. A lot of noise about nothing. Doesn't matter at this point anyway. Smyrna won the game and deserved it. Great effort by them.

Sallies lost a great game all of the complaint about refs just makes it look cheap
