Grahm Roberts

Would love to see him at UD if that is possible coming from a JC situation.
It is great to see a kid look in the mirror and tell the truth. It is a shame but there is plenty of time for redemption. He has taken a great first step.
Please note my colleagues..how we all agree on this one.

Well said Bam! I was already a fan of the player, but now I am an ever greater fan of the person! I wouldn’t say he fell short of his dream, he just has to take another route to get there. Sounds like he has owned up to his mistakes, and refocused himself to get back on track.

Butler JUCO is an AWESOME program! They are a Top tier JUCO program, that has a reputation for playing the best JUCO competition, and puts most of its recruits back in D1 programs after they graduate. I wonder which position they have recruited/offered for him to play?

Im guessing we will also get to finally see a Roberts play in the Blue/Gold game this year too! That will be good for him. I didn’t like the fact that Concord only got to play 9 games this year, not making the playoffs, and him breaking his hand/arm the last game of the season. I felt bad for him seeing him go out like that.

UD should start recruiting him now while he is at JUCO. For some reason UD’s downfall with in state recruits is getting a late jump on the in state talent. At a program like Butler, Division 1 FBS and FCS coaches visit all the time and recruit openly, because they can. With him going to a JUCO in Kansas, UD would need to start on him to persuade him to come back home in two years.

Would love to see him at UD but from Butler I would guess KU,KSU or NU. Obviously I would like KSU as much as UD. EMAW!

y’all missing the real lesson here!!
parenting 101..
they can take him to Flash Training, Stay Real Training,Football Combines, and I’m sure various other athletic activities!!
what 14-16 year old doesn’t need a little academic help?
definitely not the kids fault.. can’t wait to see him at the next level..

I correct my erroneous assumption. The Hens recruited Kani Kane out of a JC.

Bummy hasn't been to Hen's FB game in 10 years..time to catch one...

Really can’t assume what the parent may or may not have done. Based on his note, he made improvements academically over the years, but he couldn’t get out of the hole of his earlier academic years. Somehow, somewhere, somebody got him on the right track.

He could have gave up, become one of those legend athletes we never hear about after high school, or enrolled in a D3 school (which is still okay with me). Based on his response to the situation, his parents have raised a very responsible and exceptional young man.

Usually i wouldn’t have a problem with this post but parenting isn’t the issue. Looks at his older brothers... they are hard on him

He's only 18 years old with a lifetime ahead of him. Mistakes and short comings make you stronger and more prepared for the curve balls that life throws you. Good luck to him in the future. Time is on his side.

@Dback..
it’s not the parents responsibility?
I guess it’s the teachers responsibility?
maybe his uncle’s responsibility?
hahaaa
ok, I can see where this is going...

@8484..
getting “bad” grades isn’t a mistake in life, it’s just a stepping stone into the future..I’m sure a lot of doctors and lawyers got bad grades here or there and their parents cracked their little ass and got them back in line..
I’m sure Mr Roberts will be fine! This little setback may make him appreciate things a little better...

The important thing is that some low grades in school in high school are not a huge mistake, but once you do get to college to qualify for a higher level of education degree low grades will keep you out of most post graduate programs if that's what your goal is. I'm sure that he has has learned a lesson from his younger years and will do great. I sure hope he does. Some good guidance from home certainly helps. I seen him play a few times and seems to be a fine young man that's conducts himself well. I wish him well at whatever he chooses to do

I never said it who’s responsibility it was. It’s his for certain and his parents to back him but what he did was show character and class by announcing to the public what happened.

Not sure how much they recruited either he or Worrillow from their respective JUCO’s. Both were walk-ons I believe. Not sure if Paul earned a scholarship, and not sure whether Kane has yet.

Worrilow was put on scholarship after the first season. I believe Kane is now also on scholarship.
