it would be nice to see a Henlopen North team win division I and a Henlopen South team win division II, good luck to both teams and there opponents.

If it happens it is a historic moment. Would be Woodbridge's first ever football state title and the first time in Division I history a Henlopen Conference team won back to back state titles. In fact, would be the first time any two Henlopen Conference teams won consecutive Division titles.

not sure why this is such a big deal... but whatever. just because kids live 30 or so miles from each other really doesn't make a difference. kids are the same everywhere.. There is no magic waters or soil that create better players..

Two-thirds of Delaware's population resides in NCCo. The place they grow might not change things much. How many of them are growing there certainly does.

Yes there is certainly strength in numbers. but there is also more public schools, charters , techs and privates in NCC to spread those numbers arround

I can't quite figure out what you are saying here. But if it is saying that it's the first time a Henlopen team won consecutive titles regardless of division, I know that's not true.

But not to the point where it means there is no disparity thanks to the population difference. Not even really close. Plus, a larger more concentrated population brings with it other advantages.

well maybe but Henlopen has a chance chance every year, Its not a slam dunk for NCC every year.. Henlopen has 3 of the larger schools in DE

The gap has certainly closed some over the last decade and a half or so in Division I. Overall the Henlopen has been very competitive in Division II for pretty much ever. But that makes sense.

Also, I don't really see the inferiority complex either. It used to be that way. These days not so much.

joke how? The only observation I have seen is folks from southern DE have an inferiority complex... the kids arent any different in terms of talent.. maybe overlooked but that may be because of the complex.. you reap what you sew
Inferiority complex is assbagish, its about small town pride, family & community. A lot of our kids go to school with our friends kids whom we went to school with. We know the families that make up the family. No inferiority complex, just old fashioned pride.

OK? Whats that got to do with competing or being rated against NCC kids and teams?

OK what ? you think I care about North DE or South DE?? the whole thing is stupid...the state is tiny..and I used to think Md was tiny. guys I take teams and players as they are not where they are from or their longitudes or latitudes on the map of imaginary lines

You said "folks from southern de have an inferiority complex" not high school football teams but "folks" and I'm call bullsh$t on that. Maybe your observations are obscured by your arrogance. I don't mean to offend but please choose your words carefully when making a broad generalization, just saying

You can't really believe that an incredibly small message board comprised of people who put way too much stock in prep sports mirrors real life, can you?
no I don't.. my comments are solely based on the small representation here.. I take none of this seriousley in real life.. Its just entertainment

Call bullshit all you want but its just my observation and opinion.. but I am not God or the President so what does my opinion matter anyway? You can easily choose to dismiss it or not read it

Why can't people just let us henelopen folks be happy about something, its nice to see smyrna and woodbridge being favorites instead of middletown, sallies, or penn.
Who is stopping anyone from being happy? Why would anyone care what someone said on some forum effect them anyway? For Gods sake be happy.. but be happy all the time not just because a HS football team from some conference has a chance to win a ship

This has to be some kind of joke.
It has only happend once

Reap what you sew?" Dude, the South really doesn't care too much about what goes on north of the canal.Honestly, if you stop and think about it, there are only about 5 henlopen south people on here. As a Milford fan, I'm rooting for Middletown. Ring that bell Riches!

darn rr I just erased my words of foul wisdom I had for ya and you're correct it's just a high school football forum, so this "inferiority complex southern Delaware folk" is going to bed, gotta get my rest, my complex needs sleep

This entire thread is why they should play one game Friday and the other Saturday. Its clear there is nothing to talk about tonight and tomorrow will be too much. just sayin

Talking strictly Division I. The Henlopen Conference has not won titles in consecutive years prior to Saturday. It's just some trivia.

I am trying to anticipate somebody challenging Smyrna next year. It just might be that they are going to put together a Newark like dynasty,,,,,

....changing the topic slightly the Henlopen has won a couple consecutive basketball titles a couple times.....

I think HN is a sleeping FB giant...if Dover and CR get back on track.....and Cape could up their schedule a bit....they would be one of the most impressive conferences in the Delaware Valley..(Sussex Central had a great year and ST seems to have athletes all the time)...you might be seeing 3 HN in the D1 FB tournament soon enough.....

Pulled this out of the BS file cabinet
----------

I support the Sals schedule. Awareness has been stimulated on other boards. This past week and this week are good marketing and business trips.

Directly/indirectly DEHSFB/state will benefit from future positive influx. I have seen MT go from less than 3000 to greater than 19000.

I see SHS as the next big thing. GO SALS! = GO EAGLES! = GO DEHSFB!

Caravel still has 4 games to fill.. they need to get on the stick. this is starting to become a re-occurring theme with them. Can't wait until after the season to try and schedule next years games Not sure what the AD is doing but if not for me finding the 10th game vs Capitol Christian this year they would have had 9 games two years running. Dude has to get on the horn

The Big S still has 3 games to fill. Maybe they there will be another Sals-Caravel game next year out of mutual necessity.

Looks like Caravel could easily fill 2 games by playing Sallies and Concord. Both of those teams have the same open weeks.
