I am going to say that Runyon / Goodell give him a 3 game suspension. I used to love the guy but he
really screwed up today.....combining late hits, head injury concerns, player violence, unsportsmanlike conduct.....if #27 is concussed...it could be a season ender...

There are few good ones but for the most part, they're nothing but a bunch of thugs that would have no contribution to society if not blessed with unbelievable skill.

Disagree. I think that the supermajority of NFL players are good people. There are a few criminals. Also, there are some that have never been told "no" and don't know how to handle it when they are told "no". With what he did today I don't know where Gonk fits in.....

Appreciate your opinion as I'm sure you do mine but I stand pat with my comment. An individual who grows up without being told no does not get a free pass to do what he or she wants just because they've never been told no. Developing into an adult means acquiring qualities that contribute to society that you may not have been exposed to as a child.

The worst for "in game" crap have been Vontaze Burfict and Albert Hayneworth. Unfortunately, Gronk has put himself in their category.

You think that because everyone sees the 1% that does bad things. 99% of the players are just regular people that got lucky to be able to do what they love and the money is a huge incentive to keep playing. Easy to finds the disturbing videos of the 1 of 2000 players that do bad things. No one cares to watch teams go into hospitals, poor cpmmunities and shelters to help out.

i think the notion that the majority of nfl players are useless thugs is similar to the argument that all cops ( or most) are crooked and use excessive force, i think the bad that we hear of just makes a louder noise. i think overall there are more of russell wilson than vontaze burfict by far

Exactly its a lot easier to see and remember the 3 bad videos a year when their are hundreds of videos of great people in their communities helping people out and making peoples days.

All valid points contradicting my statement but it is an opinion and we all have 'em. Doesn't mean I'm right and doesn't mean I'm wrong. I've been around a few years and have watched too many reports of athletes beating girlfriends, abusing children and murdering people brutally There is always the flip side which isn't always as visible but I'm not certain the distribution between the two is 1% to 99%. As I stated earlier I appreciate others opinions but stand pat with mine. I do like the passionate responses by folks defending their heroes.

Wow… That’s a pretty harsh statement! As someone who has done a lot of work and attended hundreds of events with the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, I got to meet and know many of the players, some of which I still have relationships with today. I can tell you unequivocally that the overwhelming majority of the players are good people who give of themselves and their money, so much more than the average fan even knows about. There will always be bad actors in any given group (Media and Hollywood come to mind) but that doesn’t mean the entire group in tainted. Not sure what field you’re in but I’m sure you can think of a few who have done some bad things or made some bad decisions…does that reflect on you?

very disappointed he is appealing the suspension, dont do the crime if you cant do the time !

He should be out till the other guy comes off concussion protocol, plus the game they gave him.

I love this board! Always have to justify an opinion if it doesn't match the majority. Funny thing is that most times I'm in the majority. Good discussion and food for thought for me moving forward.

Agreed. If he was truly sorry he would except the penalty like a man and move on. His appeal shows his lack of remorse for his unacceptable action.

Maybe im bias being a steelers fan, but i didnt see where JUJU hit should have been a suspension. Maybe a fine for standing over Burfict because that was uncalled for, but the Guy was about to make the tackle and he threw a block. Wasnt behind the play, shoulder pad to the upper chest. Keep your head on a swivel ! This isnt golf !!!

Yea idk where that suspension came from either. Even Ilokas hit was illegal but definetly did not see a suspension coming from it. Seems to me it was just because of the rivalry and their is a past so they went overboard trying to stop it.

What part of my post was "opinion" ?

Pats are saying that is false, he is not appealing.

He was probably told to withdraw it by someone with some common sense. Watching his interview confirms that he has none.

Well there's that and do you really want to push the suspension to a game during the last couple of week in the season where home field advantage may be on the line?

He didn’t drop his appeal, the NFL shot it down, see the above links

The Patriots star tight end was suspended one game for violating the NFL's rules on unnecessary roughness, the league announced Monday.

Gronkowski appealed the ban, though appointed arbitrator Derrick Brooks upheld the suspension Tuesday, league spokesman Michael Signora announced.

Gronkowski will miss next Monday night's tilt with the Miami Dolphins before returning the following week for New England's ultra-critical clash with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
