just because I'm bored at work and wanna talk football here is my way too early Rankings with some added way to early predictions

Rankings
1. Sallies - Dinardo returns just about every starting player from a team that appeared in its first championship since 2015 and after a whole other offseason under their belts the sky is the limit for them.
2. Hodgson - the Silver Eagles who were young the last two seasons somewhat overachieved according to some after rising to the Division 1 level but they proved they have some talent and can ball with the best of them. Hodgson is for real and should be a serious threat to Sallies quest for a back to back.
3. Dover - the Senators returns Delawares Gatorade Player of the year. And with some added talent, Dover is poised for a big tournament run.
4. Middletown - Big Questions need to be answered. How will the new quarterback fair now that he's in the starting role? Will the transfer of TJ Butler help ease the load off Scrappy and with every starting receiver gone to graduation, will this team be the high scoring offense that we have seen in the past.
5. Sussex Central - lost some major key additions to its roster but Wells now has a championship program on the rise and should contend for a playoff spot.
6. Appo - made its first ever Division 1 playoff appearance with young talent that's returning. The addition of a transfer receiver from a rival school should help boost this offense.
7. Smyrna - The Eagles struggled last off season but they were young and it's not easy to learn and excute the offense that Judy has installed, so another year for the QB under center and better understanding of the calls. Knight should only get better.
8. Sussex Tech
9. Caesar Rodney
10. St. George's

Division 2 (Don't know much or anything at all for D2 so my Rankings are a wash. My 1 couldnhave lost everyone and not even be a Top 5 team compared to a 5. Who brings back everyone and is scary good so it's just fun to rank them)
1. Delmar
2. Friends
3. Woodbridge
4. Archmere
5. Howard
6. Caravel
7. St. Elizabeth's
8. A.i. DuPont
9. Newark
10. DMA

(Predictions to come after I get off of work)

Your 1 & 2 are solid. I think everything else is a toss up.

I somewhat agree. 1-2 are the two favorites to see at UD in December. After that, I think we can classify the next 3/4 teams as tier 2. But if those 3/4 I think Dover standouts the most. Peace is talent that you can't just ignore, offense.defense or special teams. He's going to be a force for anyone lining up against him. After Dover the next 2/3 teams has a case as to why they should be top 5 just as much as they have concerns as to why they shouldn't. So here I throw in my biased opinion and say Middletown is next. However I'm not stupid, the team is going to have a New QB, and all new Secondary. You are reloading at just about every skill position there is with the exception of running back. They bring back the entire line except for Kruger who was all State. So experienced line, with 2-3 good running backs (not forgetting Ben Martin who ran hard and solid when Scrappy wasn't on the field).

After that, Central loses its twins who was the heart and soul of that team, as well as Reed. Other then them, I need to see more from Tech, Appo, and especially Smyrna. These teams have the talent to compete but I just need to see more, nothing against them.

Smyrna/Middletown week 1 will answer questions for me. I think loser misses playoffs, BECAUSE of the uphill climb they have with their remaining schedules. Smyrna with Sallies, Dover, Central. And Middletown with Sallies, Hodgson, Penn/Appo (whichever of those who steps up)

With that said here a few predictions.......

- Sallies and Hodgson are the clear cut Favorites however I think someone else wins the D1 championship, someone we're all sleeping on.

- Friends gets over the hump and Wins their Championship finally

- Peace repeats as Gatorade Player of the Year and carries his team to the finals

- Sallies running back (whose name already escapes me) breaks Knights all time rushing record

- Division 1 teams go .500 against its Division 2 opponents

- there won't be a Southern team represented in the D2 final

- HS will bring back the weekly breakdowns/Predictions of the week after a good 5-6 year Hiatus.

- RR will finally visit Cavalier stadium and take HS up on his tailgate invite and come have a drink a friendly game of cornhole before any home game.

Dover couldn't figure out how to win the big game with Magee (except Smyrna when he had a huge game), so I don't know how they will do it without him.

I think this goes back to the coaches on offense. As good of numbers they put up last year. When it came down to controlling the clock and no power offense when needed, they crumbled. They looked lost when they were down. They only knew how it felt to be up big last year. Go ahead and if you can watch the first game against SC and the 4th quarter in the semi's against SC. That offense goes through the OC not the QBs.

Tj Butler at Middletown? 3 schools in 3 years so far ( StE, St.Marks, and Middletown)....Doesn't look good from a recruiting aspect right?

My point was that DOVER couldn't make it work with an A.S. QB, so I doubt they will be able to make it to the FINALS without one.

Not a Penn fan but they were young and athletic. Looking at their scores from a year ago I think they will be very good.

I think Sussex Tech will be pretty good this year IF everyone stays healthy! They are Senior Heavy this year and return all their skill players including QB who got hurt week 1 last year and missed all of last season.

I hope this team will be better this year. However, they lost some big men up front to protect their QB and RB's. It is just as difficult to replace quality lineman like quality skill position player. Those seniors on the line last year were legit. Unfortunately, I believe this is why ST will not make a playoff push. Though I hope they prove me wrong and take a playoff of spot from an upstate team.

It looks silly to you and I but if you can play, you are going to play!
I agree if you can play you can play. But won't college wonder why all the moving around? And what would stop them from doing it in college.

Shouldn't he be red flagged nationally? Two private schools then to a top tier football program in Delaware. Smells kind of fishy. I wonder which DIAA official(s) are turning their heads letting and sweeping this under the rug. I would think he would have to sit the minimum 90 academic days in which he was present for all classes.

Kids transferring all over is kinda common place these days everywhere. Its to the point now they are announcing their transfer on twitter. Good or bad its how it is now. Don't think the colleges care about it much anymore

He's been there since at least the 3rd MP so I'm sure he will be fine.

In Delaware you get 1 free transfer up until after your sophomore year. After that its a sit 1 yr penalty ( a season of the sports you played at previous school) unless you can get a waiver or if you moved and the result of that move puts you in a different school zone then you get a one time choice to any school. The student in question used his free one and the move to Middletown would require his family moving or a waiver to play football next season . Waivers from private to public are pretty easy to get. You simply cant afford the private anymore or dont have transportation to school. St Marks has been losing kids lately because they have pulled back allot of the transportation.
