Sals @ #3? Friends @ #2?????? Archmere @ #8?????? And finally still on the Smyrna wagon I see.

I think I'd flip sallies and Smyrna, at least for now.

Like central where they are, but I drop Penn as well. They didn't look like a top 5 team to me. Although the sample size is small and only winning by two points total, I'd move CR up.

I'd drop Milford and Delmar and move up Archmere and AI. Archmere is top 5 at worst

CR is already tied with Sallies and Mtown for playoff points with 12. They will probably lose to Smyrna but if they stay competitive they could very well win the rest of them.

When it comes down to it, I see Smyrna getting the auto bid, but CR getting a higher seed. Strictly because of how difficult Smyrnas schedule is.

It's still early. What difference does this make after the second week. Calm down already. If Smyrna doesn't deserve the #2 ranking, it will show soon enough. Even if they lose to Irvington, NJ, I would still rank them #2. This is simply based on who Jeff thinks is the second best team in Delaware right now. Just opinion so what's so wrong?

I think Jeff's D1 rating are spot on. In D2 I may have ranked Archmere a little higher...time will tell...

Nothing wrong just commenting That is what forums are for correct? Always calm. Smart ass at times but calm none the less by the way the lot of 0-2 teams was just an interesting observation. I wasn't offering an opinion on whether or not those teams deserve to be there

Looked at Friends for one...

Same old story for the last three years on Friends. Yeah their schedule is not the toughest, but the proof is in the pudding. Difficult to get in-state teams to play them during regular season. Reached the semi-finals 2014, 2015 and were a finalist last year (2016) with a chance to win it in the 4th Q. If they would have kicked a couple of field goals in their three trips inside the 10 without points, it might have been a different story. Always beat a team or two in the play-offs, who most on this Board predicted would blow-out Friends. In those years beat Milford, St. Georges, Archmere, Lake Forest and had narrow loses to Laurel and Howard in the semis. Not sure how they get respect. By the way, for those who say I am a homer, they will lose to Woodbridge this week.

Tbj i think most of us respect Friends game. One of the better executing and most disciplined teams in the state IMO. I don't buy the other DE teams ducking them though. I know CA would welcome scheduling them probably many others would as well. We would just like to se them schedule a little tougher.

If Friends loss to Woodbridge and 1 more team their playoff dreams probably goes up in smoke.

Jeff is a downstate guy. His picks always reflect that. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Its his picks and he has that right. Its not like they are published or anything. Good forum fodder though

I agree. It appears that if you are not affiliate with a conference, then

Agree. It seems that Caravel has the same difficulty in that it has 4 out of state opponents. It would be great if Friends and Caravel would get together and schedule each other as it seems like it would be a good match-up. Both schools seem to have to scrape up enough kids to filed a competitive roster every year. I think Friends only has about 35 and Caravel maybe even less.

It would be a good match. Friends can take St E's place at the table. Believe me CA would much rather play in state than travel and play weak opponents like Silver Oak a prison school who plays in a corn field lol and Capital Christian. Those games are a waste of time. Just like SPL teams playing King George and whatnot

From what I'm reading, it sounds like this may have been a good year for them to have played Concord. They both had week 10 available.

I just looked at the website and saw that Concord still does not have a week 10. How does that work as far as playoff points for them AND points for the teams that they are playing? I'm guessing that if Concord would happen to go 6-3. That would mess up points for their opponents since they did not win 7 games. Is that right?

Its not points but point index. Concord will just average by 9 instead of 10 CA had to play them due to a 2 year contract they signed last year when they had a week 10 game open late and Cap C took the game and it was supposed to be a home game for them but CA needed a home game and they obliged as CA offered them dinner (Ninos pasta catered) to come. CA owes them the return trip

Got it!

CA did their 2 year stint with Concord. The timing and available dates just didn't work out this go round Believe me they would have rather played Concord than Edmonson WS. CA's scheduling process is reach out to every in state team then when that is exhausted they look OOS. I even disagree with this process as waiting on in state teams to reply you cound be scheduling better and closer OOS teams. But that is just me

Fyi the reason CA apeared to have week 10 open is because Cap Christian has no field. They play their home games at PG County Sports Complex. Same place DeMatha and the local recs play. Obviously DeMatha gets first choice so CC had to wait until DeMatha scedule was settled before they could lock in the field and time

Concord can still catch one of the PA teams that don't make the tournament. Oxford is good for that

I doubt they do that unless the matchup is real good. That extra game could be the difference in a playoff birth. They maybe good at 9 games. They are going to miss that easy 6 from Charter.
