I think it is likely. Clones were pitiful against Penn. It was the Slowskys Homecoming. If you can't get up for a team that you have played for 36 consecutive years you are coming up weak.

Give Salesianum credit for scheduling Penn as a homecoming opponent. There are no guarantees when these two teams play regardless of the venue or the motivator.

The game to watch for me from a tourney seeding standpoint is Tatnall at Conrad Saturday morning. The Hornets CANNOT afford a hiccup with Delmar and St. Mark's playing reasonably well right now. Conrad scored 23 unanswered points in the 4th quarter at Tatnall last year to eliminate them from the playoff chase, being at home and having another chance to play spoiler could be enough for the artists formerly known as the Redskins.

I believe Delmar could upset Milford. 28-21
I guess that is possible..Delmar is a well coached team all be it very small.. Milford beat common opponents by much more but Delmar tends to get better as the season progresses.. Not sure if Milford was living on fools gold with a weak schedule but I still believe Milford wins at home on SR night with a ton of SR's. If not then the coaching at Milford need to seriously get looked at.. JMHO

Sals playing without Patrick. Something going on there

Took my grandson to the game. The poor kid is going to probably report that to the child protective services.
#8 played on defense and did a nice job. My sense is that your coach will be using him on O next week but he wasn't needed tonight. You don't want that guy to get injured.

The Slowskys need all the healthy hands on deck as they wind down the disappointing 2016 season.

Potentially 7-3 with losses to the top two teams in the state and a toss up match against Penn is not disappointing. That being said a loss to St. Marks would change my opinion.

I'm one of those that think Salesianum should win the ship in every sport every year with over 1200 boys pulling from three states. Every year they don't win it should be disappointing.

A second year staff that took a previously 2-18 team to 6-4, and now 7-1. hmmmmm

Yeah, with all those scouts from Alabama, Ohio State and Michigan just dying to get at that talent.

Sadly, once again I am in agreement with you. On paper, if you looked at the roster pre season you would have thought differently. They had a lot of key players coming back, particularly on the line.

You really don't think having 1200 boys from three states isn't a distinct advantage over every school in the state? Come on man!!! The soccer team wins it every year as they should. So should baseball and football. Even basketball went back to back recently. The baseball team routinely has 100 kids try out. It's not about major D1 talent. How many kids go major D1 in Delaware yearly? A couple? It's about the number of talented kids they have to choose from.

CHS- that's exactly my point and the Sals faithful either get pissed or blame bad coaching when people point out the fact that they should be very successful every year. Now, to be fair-they get a lot of average to below average athletes who choose to go there (or parents send them there) to get participation rings.

I'll preface by saying I don't follow Sallies closely and am much less knowledgeable about them than many of you. But regardless of the numbers, you're dealing with one of the most unpredictable things on earth - teenage boys (perhaps the only thing more unpredictable are teenage girls!). I get what you're saying that one would think a team like Sallies should be great every year, but it's really hard to do in reality unless you run a school/program whose one and only priority is putting a great team on the field and Sallies has greater aspirations than that. Kind of pains me to defend a private school, but just my two cents.

Sallies opponents this year are currently 51/31. WP 46/34, Concord 42/38, Smyrna 36/45 and MT with their tough schedule who are 31/50. 1200 boys, 3 states, participation rings yada yada yada. Sallies is, always has been, and always will be the team to hate. It's okay they understand really.

Maybe I'm mistaken but I believe it was BDN when he was at Middletown who said, and I'm paraphrasing, "Any day you beat Salesianum in anything is a good day"

I am thrilled to have BDN as the HFC.
Most intense Big S fans have high expectations. I expect them to get in the tournament every year but I don't usually expect a state title.
The program usually has a depth of mid level talent but they are not loaded with super stars by any stretch.
There are some people who maybe are envious. Most guys on this board are having fun and are not haters.
Because we are going off daylight savings time tomorrow there will an extra hour to discuss DE HS FB. Oh happy day.....

Sallies soccer and cross country solid #1's in State. Not sure about City rankings. Can they win state titles and still be denied a #1 City title?

Great Question. The precedent was set last year when Howard was rewarded the City title when they stunned St. G's. Now, I would have been in a pickle if the Slowskys decided to play the last 8 minutes in the title game. Maybe I would have done a joint title. My biggest disappointment is that St. E's and Howard don't play each other on an annual basis. Right now, I am waiting to see how Slowskys do against Sparty. Many of us foresee a Sparty spanking of the Broom Streeters.

Is this weeks prediction as solid as last weeks Tech upset over Sallies you predicted?
