I give Smyrnas defense a hard time, i always have, but that doesn't neglect the fact that they aren't the same defense from last year. They are solid, fundamentally sound and quick to the ball, and there isn't many that can compete with them, however, Sussex Central did just that. We can all agree Smyrna and Middletown are by far the best two teams right now, and if Central can hang with Smyrna I give them the chance to beat Penn.
Penn is not the same team that got beat 25-0 against Middletown in week 2, but the only difference I've seen is the offense. its still same team who let St. Georges hang around, and allowed 25 to MT. Burton is playing his true position, DB. Yes, they beat a injured Concord team, and got by Sallies but they will still struggle against Smyrna and MT.
The Central matchup with Penn has to be one of the better match ups. And I can't say either team has an edge at either phase of the game, in an over under, I'd give William Penn -3 1/2.....strictly for being at home on a Saturday afternoon.
Sallies and Concord will be completely different than the first meeting. Bam was a factor last week, he didn't get much, but he was a factor. Both teams have the size up front and if Patrick stays at RB each team has a RB that can pound the rock all day. The difference in this game will be the big play ability. Who can capitalize on them when it is presented.
