Its only two weeks into May, so here's HS Too Early Top 10 for each Division.
Division 1
1. Smyrna - Champs until someone can prove otherwise
2. Middletown - New Coach but returns more talent than any other team not named Smyrna.
3. Sallies - Returns key contributors on their fronts, only question is who will be the feature back, and who will be the top WR, after losing Patrick and Drake.
4. William Penn - Young team last year, and reached the semi-finals. Should compete again.
5. Concord - always sound, great talent, but too predictable when it comes to offense. Still top 5 teams.
6. Sussex Central - Last year they seemed like they found their stride, BUT, couldn't match up with Penn well enough to make that next tier.
7. Cape Henlopen - much like Concord, always sound, great athletes, but lack the will to play at the level of some of the top teams in the division.
8. St. George's - despite it being the first week of the seasons, the Hawks showed they could hang with Division 1 teams falling just short against Penn at their own field.
9. Appo - with a tough conference schedule that is somewhat "penciled" in 4 losses, barring a surprise upset against the four flight a teams above them, 6-4 is what's expected.
10. Hodgson - if not for the tough flight a, they could be contenders, but after a few fall off years starting slow, something you can't do against stiffer competition, the Eagles will struggle but won't be blown out like some.
Division 2
1. Woodbridge - Currently one of the most consistent winning teams in division 2, coach manlove will have his team ready to defend their title.
2. Milford - after an impressive season last year, the Bucs are ready to challenge the Raiders for that crown.
3. Caravel - will be competitive, but with a tough schedule looming, they will either be dominant, or nonrelevant.
4. Wilmington Friends - much like Woodbridge, has been consistent and will make the playoffs, schedule certainly helps but they will be competitive against the best.
5. DMA
6. St. Marks
7. Howard
8. Archmere
9. A.i. DuPont
10. Laurel
Not much info to go on this early in the game, just speculation until camps start and the pads go on. The title of the thread was no longer fitting by the time I finished this but who cares.
