NEWARK, Del. -- University of Delaware women's golf head coach Patty Post has announced that high school standout Rachel Lee has signed a National Letter of Intent with UD and will begin playing for the Blue Hens during the 2014-15 season.

Lee, a native of Woodstock, Md. who attends Marriotts Ridge High School, earned medalist honors at the Howard County Championship this fall by carding a round of 73. She also placed third at the 2013 Maryland State Girls High School Championships with a 77-70-147, after finishing fourth as a sophomore and junior.

Lee also was the low amateur and fourth overall after carding a 73-73-146 at the Maryland State Women's Open, and was a Junior PGA Championship qualifier in 2012 when she fired a 72-74-146. The only female member of the Capital Cup team in 2012-13, Lee posted a 72-69-141 to win the MAPGA Junior event at Shenandoah Valley, and has a low competitive round of five under par 67.

"We are so excited for Rachel to be joining us at the University of Delaware," said Post. "She will be a great addition both athletically and academically to our young program. We have had the opportunity to watch Rachel's game the last couple of years and we are most impressed with her desire to be the best. She will bring with her a mature dedication to the improvement of her golf game, and elevate and continue to motivate those around her."

NEWARK, Del. -- University of Delaware men's golf head coach Mike Keogh has announced that three high school standouts have signed National Letters of Intent with UD and will begin playing for the Blue Hens during the 2014-15 season.

Jack Gianniny, who attends Pittsford Sutherland High School in Pittsford, N.Y., qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur over the summer when he carded a 68-72. He won consecutive Monroe Junior Invitational Championships with rounds of 69 and 68, and was the 2013 AJGA Preseason Junior at Blue Heron Hills champion with a 75-74.

Blaine Lafferty, who attends Cherokee High School in Marlton, N.J., qualified for and represented the state of New Jersey in the 2013 Callaway Junior World Golf Championships. He made the cut at the 2013 New Jersey Amateur, finished with the second most points in the 2012 Philly Junior Tour, and fired a 68 during the first round of the AJGA William Penn Junior Championship.

Kieran Purcell, who attends St. Peter's Prep in Jersey City, N.J., finished in first place at the New Jersey PGA Junior Championship and Pioneer Tour Championship. He also placed sixth at the AJGA William Penn Championship, was the men's club champion at Forest Hill Field Club, and won the Pioneer Tour Open Championship this year.

"Our program is quite fortunate to have three players coming to Delaware with such a vast amount of success and experience in nationally recognized tournaments," said Keogh. "These players had multiple offers from great programs but with a campus such as ours and having Wilmington Country Club, White Clay Creek Country Club, Newark Country Club and Deerfield Country Club as our practice and playing venues, attracting solid players and people becomes a whole lot easier."
