Middletown - IMG Academy

Lmao. Middletown playing basically an all-star team.... I think IMG has like two teams though. I highly doubt they’re playing their A team.

I would hope they are playing the B team. The A team would be a massacre and could get kids hurt.

RR - Not sure what team they are playing. Just know that something fell through with Friendship and IMG was willing to play if the Cavs went down there.

No matter the outcome, it will be a once in a lifetime experience for these kids. To go down there and play with a team that is highly ranked as they are, to see that campus and everything else with it. I already know I'm flying down for it. Maybe make a weekend out of it if Tampa bay plays home that weekend. See ex Middletown Godwin play.

Not so sure it’s a once in a lifetime experience to go Florida but what ever. Hell I have been there 5 times and my kid 7 Enjoy the ass beating and hope you come back with enough players in tact to contend for states. Remember when ECA went to Texas and came back with half their starters injured including Sills our for the year. Just saying

84....yeah. I'm going down for the game. I was just gonna go down and catch the red eye back, but once talking it over with some friends, we said we should wait to see if Tamp Bay Bucs are playing home and then if so, stay the extra day or two and catch that game as well. It should be fun.

It's not clear if the team is flying or taking buses, details aren't sorted out.

RR ..... I wasn't saying going to Florida is once in a lifetime, I'm saying going down there to play football amongst the big leagues with the scouts that always tends their games. The campus alone is worth the trip to go down and tour.

It's not something that everyone gets to experience.

The campus is not anything you can’t see visiting university camps, 7v7 or junior days t The only thing being recruited there is them recruiting your kids if you have one they want The college coaches are only interested in the IMG kids. I just think it is a stupid game for MT. But I respect others opinions.

Middletown has proven to be worthy of playing with anyone but to say this game will be a challenge is quite the understatement.

I wonder if they didn't have to play Newark and Concord back-to-back would they still have agreed to it??? But I agree with RR. I remember when they played DeMatha years back with very good Mtown team, and got SMOKED and kids were out hurt for the games following.........ijs

@RR
who’s paying for this trip?
I’m saying $12k
they could head down Baltimore for $1k and get a ass whipping!!
just saying of course

typically IMG pays and they stay in their dorms they feed them as well

Prayers sent. That said, if I was a player on the team, I'd be looking forward to it.

I find it ironic that Middletown was one of the schools leading the charge vs Red Lion and what they were doing. Saying it was bad for HS football and Delpercio was quoted in the NJ saying if they come talking to any of my kids they will get punched in the mouth..MT refused to play Red Lion Now they are playing IMG funny

I agree it will be fun for the kids..well up until the game starts. IMG doesn't take it easy on anyone.. They might get the back ups in but they are just big and good as the starters. They let the kids act up and rub it in your face as well and they will. Honestly I don't know why IMG would even want this game. I guess they are having a hard time getting games.

If I was a parent of a “good” Mtown player, my son wouldn’t be playing! If my son’s safety and future games/season is in the hands of some subpar teammates I wouldn’t even consider it. Yeah, he can go on the trip and enjoy the experience, but playing vs grown men??? Nope!
IMG probably can beat DSU and give U of D a good game........ijs

No IMG are FHSSA members. Just just don't play in the state tournament
They won’t be playing the A team from IMG. They have two varsity squads. Typically that second team plays mostly in state Florida teams. The skill level will be wide, but it’s not like they are playing their A varsity team with 4 and 5 star guys starting at every position.

They will
Not be playing the Main IMG Varsity Squad. It will be their second Varsity team. The skill guys from Middletown will be fine. The OL DL is we’re it will not be close. Still I would Not worry they will lose bad but no different then what middletown would do to some of the bottom tier d 2 schools in Delaware.

I do remember now that Dunbar was scheduled to play the B team down there but IMG doesn’t pay teams to come and play the B team nor do they travel out of state. Dunbar couldn’t come up with the funds so they cancelled. They will probably allow MT to use the dorms but MT will have to find a way down there.

It makes more sense MT would play the B. The more I thought about it it just didn’t make sense IMG A would schedule that game

I am thinking MT will have to bus there so this is uncharted territory for Bummys bus theory

MT is playing the A team! And we aren't sure on how we are getting down there just yet.

Blum is family, and that's how I know.

If you are playing the A team god bless you. If you have ever seen IMGs Defensive and offensive line up close you will understand just how ludicrous it is for MT to play them. B team is made up of a lot of kids that are good but not that explosive. Their A team line starters and back ups in some cases will all play for FBS schools. So I honestly believe it will not be a good experience for them if this is the case

Yes IMG is all that but damn guys give MT some credit...stop acting like a bunch of star struck lil girls and give MT some props geesh...whatever happened to the “we will play anyone anywhere attitude.” I commend MT for taking this team on. I’d rather go down fighting than be a lil bitach shivering. Kudos

Let’s just hope that they don’t get so “ beat up “ that it effects the rest of their season negatively. I personally think it’s a horrible decision and those who decided that it was a good idea should have thought about the physical mismatch that will occur.

Whatever 84. It’s nuts and kids will get hurt. You can take balls out play anyone attitude all you want. But MT is going to get demolished and for D2 points. For what? Too say you had the balls to play them?

Kids can get hurt in any game, we baby them today and that’s why our generation considers them soft. Our parents would never say, that team is to good, to big or to mean. Our parents told us to get the heck out there and compete. Then, win, lose or draw, they told us they were proud of us. Civil rights, Korean War & Nam. Our parents lived in time of action. Stop making our kids soft and play ball! Sorry for blabbering but I have strong opinions about playing ball

Yeah ok. Then let High schools recruit and offer scholarships to whom ever they want. Sallies will dominate and you just have find a way to beat them. Athletic Associations exsist to preserve a somewhat level playing field. Or at least everyone is playing by the same rules. IMG operates way out side of the scope of the NCAA. They don’t have scholarship limits or GPA or SAT limits.

84 it’s easy to chest thump and say anyone anytime when it’s not your kid being led to slaughter. That is quite a neadrathal point of viiew. If your not cheating your not trying right?

then we can agree to disagree...I don’t care what IMG does, MT decided to play them, I think it’s great and you think it’s ridiculous, so yeah ok

This is not the right spot tho. I have been to their last two spring games and there is a reason every single FBS college coach is there in person or has someone their. The backups get FBS offers. It’s like freak show honestly watching them lift, and play. You really can’t understand until you actually see it in person. Hopefully it is against the B team.

If you’re not cheating ??? We’re talking football which to some degree requires aggression ??? Didn’t you play ??? What does cheating have to do with it. I don’t cheat, I relied on the competition and adrenaline ,didn’t you...if was assuming a Neanderthal mentally, I would of told you to stick your opinions up your azzz but since I’m not a Neanderthal, I’ll just say yeah ok that’s your beliefs.
