Newark vs Mount Pleasant (video)

@Patcomic, you are the man, thanks for all you do....as many games as you see and record, I would be interested in hearing your opinion on who you like this season. Maybe top 5 in chances of winning it all. You probably go to more games than anyone on this board.

Well Sanford is one to beat. The duo of Na Na and Jyare inside and The Perkins cousins on the outside makes them really tough to beat.Plus they have McKeon the only senior also strong inside. I have only seen Dover online, but did see them in the fall and they are a strong No. 2. 3 I gotta go with Glasgow they have a nice line up. Mark Bradshaw doesn't always shoot that well, but man is he quick to the hole. Then they have Hancock who for a freshman is amazing he can shoot and go to hoop. David Nichols is also an outside threat as well as Graves and they have No 23 Izzy who cleans the boards nicely. 4 I go Caravel they are not deep but have a solid 6. 5 St Georges, this will depend on Bones status and how well he recovers from the injury. There is also APPO , Mount Pleasant, Newark, St E's and Caesar Rodney. Sussex Tech I saw without Ricky Kane, who I saw last year with him they could surprise people and William Penn is getting it together. The game tonight was really good, I love the running game when I get to move the camera quick and talk fast.

Is the freshman Hancock kid for Glasgow the same kid that played at Newark the past couple of years?

The Hancock kid is a senior he played for Newark the last 3 years
I was going by Newark's roster last yr. They had him listed in 8th grade. So, I thought he would be a freshman at Glasgow. He is not listed on Newark's roster from 2 yrs ago. So, I don't know sometimes the roster are not that accurate. But, he is a solid player.

He is listed as a 7th grader on JV the year before that.. I wasnt aware middle school kids could play for Newark HS..how does that work?

another oddity how come Glasgow doesnt have a Varsity roster posted but a JV and Freshman team posted?

I know 8th graders have played for other schools. Jyare I think was varsity in 8th. And I think for the girls Delle Donne and maybe looking back St E's girls have had quite a few 8th graders on the V. Olivia Tucker now at Sanford being one. She has a D1 scholarship but I forget where

Pat I know middle school kids can play for the HS teams if the school houses middle schoolers in the same building. I think that only 8th graders are allowed.. I wasn't aware Newark had a middle school in the same building unless they have some charter or magnet thing in there now like Christiana has

Good point, I don't know if the schools are attached or how it works for kids so young to be able to play. But, good for them if they can compete at the Varsity level at such a young age.
