Officiating this year has been very horrible messing the game of basketball up in Delaware

Charter vs Caravel was horrible worst that I've ever seen.
Well .. You need to come downstate... Way worser..
Some of these Teams wouldn't be winning if the refs wasn't helping them . Delaware has this thing with certain schools. A lot of help from this board refs automatic call other teams out of the game. Horrible fouls ,walks etc. But this is how they show our youth terrible...
strongly disagree! There is no ref conspiracy to lift teams, that an irresponsible statement. Unfortunately bad calls may determine the final outcome in some very close games. Happens at all levels, which is why 'replay' exists. Do you actually think that 2-3 randomly selected refs have a consensus to manage the outcome of certain games? Give you credit for conspiracy theory!
At this point in the season most refs that are calling a lot of games are familiar with certain players and their play style. For example players who euro-step or do a spin move to the rim are called for travel. They know its a travel because they have seen it multiple times and have conferred with their colleagues and reviewed on video as I have.

All I know is I wish they would let the kids play a little. Basketball is a physical game. Stop calling all the tacky tack stuff. They let the kids play at the Slam and the games were awesome but then same officials reverted right back to constantly blowing the whistle. Tired of watching a 2 hour parades to the foul line.
I cant even stand to watch HS BBall games in DE and I don't.. If I get the bug to watch HS BBall I will drive 2 hrs to the DC beltway or maybe Jersey
Some refs are bad,some are lazy and some just don't study the game. I've seen some call phantom fouls, I 've seen some miss walks some call false walk'Euro step done correct IS NOT A WALK' and I have seen some make bullshit calls! But OVERALL I've seen some well officiated game.
We all make mistakes that's a part of life!
On a side note let the refs ref, Coaches coach and the kids play and stop thinking eveyone is out to get you....Enjoy the game!

I've seen probably close to 20 games (boys and girls) this season and in most of those, there were two or three calls that made me scratch my head. I was shocked when a Eurostep in the Penn/St. Georges game was NOT called a travel - that's how awful they've been.
What's worse is all the people complaining and yelling at the refs. Most of the people b!tching are women too. It's HS basketball not the most important thing in the world and if it is you will have a problem when the game ends.
All I'm saying certain schools don't have these teams people post on these boards. For example just a true statement .STG there not good but the refs blow the whistle for these kids and truthfully there not even average . It's crazy to watch grown ups still be so immature and not be honest about situations. At end of day kids are shown what unequal means not work for yours. Not hating at all few other schools also. One kid in De 3 team all state but he was number 8 in the nation. Now he is ranked number 2 in big 10 . De boards and player rankings terrible. Even tho there not to many choices. And out of a refs mouth !!! They do have picks
I agree.. But they do get some calls right... Cape vs Dover.. Dover fans and even I thought shot was after buzzer.. But video dont like.. And the clock started at right Time... They do make some good calls.. St.Georges aint good.. One on One basketball ... Refs bail them out with fouls..
I want to see our kids move on too college and become good citizens and neighbors among each other . Just don't like to see kids get caught up in grown ups non sense wanting these outstanding pictures with sports . Even to read about some of these kids failing off etc. Not all of these kids are scholars but you can be molded and shaped up
To become a great individuals. But others seem to slander names across board kids make mistakes there learning. I respect DIAA , Teachers, Coaches, refs etc... But let's get to making the state more competitive and honest.
First and foremost the DIAA is an archaic organization that has NO interest in seeing the game of basketball be moved forward here in Delaware and ANYBODY who denies that is behind in the times. Secondly I dont blame the referees as much as I blame the change in rules that happened nationally a few years back (Freedom Of Movement) Some of the basketball minds started to complain that the game was becoming too barbaric and that the scoring was down so The Freedom Of Movement was instituted to give more power to the offensive man to hopefully allow scoring to go up but in my opinion it has backfired and made the games too long because of fouls and made the defensive man virtually helpless.....

I used to ref at the collegiate level and can tell you it's just not as easy as it looks... ever had a man slide a 20 dollar bill into your front pocket in front of thousands of fans? And he kind of brushed my cock a little bit when he did it and honestly I missed so many calls for the rest of the game because I couldn't stop wondering if he did it on purpose and honestly if I was into it or not. These officials have a lot on their minds and we owe them the benefit of the doubt. Stop playa hatin
